Jaybird Wireless Bluetooth Buds Posted: 11 Oct 2011 08:30 AM PDT
I am talking about wireless earphones such as the Jabra SPORT, and the latest to join the crowd is the Jaybird Wireless Bluetooth Buds. What makes them different? They have a lifetime warranty against sweat. Oh, if only everything had such a guarantee. I got a chance to try it out, and the sound is quite good. It also has a microphone for taking calls. The buds have 3 sizes of ear tips, as well as 3 sizes of fit ear cushions. This insures that these buds will stay in the ears under active conditions. These Bluetooth headphones come with a hard shell case that magnetically seals. The music play time is about 6 hours, which is equal to the talk time. The standby time is a good 250 hours, and it takes about 2 hours for a full charge. You should be able to get the Wireless Bluetooth Buds on the official Jaybird site for about $99. The web site calls them the Freedom Bluetooth earbuds or JF3, but I don’t see this name anywhere on the box. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. Japanese company REAL-f can print a 3-D mask of your face Posted: 11 Oct 2011 08:00 AM PDT
The Japanese company REAL-f can help you as they have a 3-D printer that can make a very detailed replica of your face. They can print out everything from the skin tone, freckles, and eyebrows, and put them all on molded resin. Hey, if you and a friend want to go in together, you can dress up as…each other! Granted, the effect will probably be like putting a realistic mannequin’s face on your own, but it will leave people guessing. Granted, this will be pretty expensive, as it will cost $4,000 to just get one face mask done. By the way, additional face masks cost about $780 to $2,000, so you can save at least some money if you and a friend want to change faces. By the way, a full head will cost you $6,000. I have no idea if they will some day have masks like on Mission Impossible, but give it time. Maybe one day we will all have 3D printers, and we can all print our faces out. Okay, that sounds pretty weird, but if I could get a 3D printer for less than $200, I would do it. Conference Calendar – The global conference and expo finder. Verizon Wireless announces the Samsung Stratosphere Posted: 11 Oct 2011 06:30 AM PDT
Specially designed to please your eyes from all angles, the Samsung Stratosphere will feature Samsung's very own 4″ Super AMOLED display in addition to B2B-enabled connectivity services from Cisco, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support as well as playing nice with secure remote device management from Sybase. The Samsung Stratosphere clearly has the business professional in its sights, thanks to robust data management support. For those who wonder whether it has what it takes to be a multimedia powerhouse, read on after the jump. The Stratosphere is capable of delivering fast download speeds of 5Mbps to 12Mbps and achieve upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps whenever you are in a 4G Mobile Broadband coverage area. Since this handset targets business professionals, I don’t think they’d be too bothered with working out the kinks on a virtual keyboard, preferring the accuracy of a physical keyboard instead which Samsung duly provides with its 5-row QWERTY keyboard Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the operating system of choice, and with this bit of information, you can be sure that it will boast support for Google Mobile Services such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Search, and Google Maps – not to mention being able to enjoy plenty of apps from the Android Market. Other hardware specifications include a 1.3-megapixel camera in the front, a 5-megapixel camera at the back that does HD recording too, Mobile Hotspot Capability and DLNA connectivity. If you do not want to waste bandwidth on a 4G connection, then there is always Wi-Fi to back you up. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. Bookeen delivers Cybook Odyssey Posted: 11 Oct 2011 06:00 AM PDT
What makes the Cybook Odyssey so special from the rest of the pack? For starters, this is touted to be the first e-book reader from the company that sports High Speed Ink System (HSIS) technology. This is no fly-by-night technology, as it apparently took a couple of years of development to create that is said to revolutionize the electronic ink display industry. With the HSIS, the Cybook Odyssey can be said to be a pioneer when it comes to making way for a new generation of e-Readers that are touted to be faster, more reactive and more fluid. Electronic ink never really took off in a big way because there are still obstacles to it, but with HSIS technology, perhaps the stigma of owning an E Ink device will be dispelled. Not only will tablet users be impressed with the speed of the Cybook Odyssey’s display, it will not do away with the classic properties of electronic ink. It is said that HSIS technology inside makes it a whole lot more intuitive to use the e-book reader, where hardware manufacturers can now develop a new user friendly interface thanks to the advancements made in this area in the realm of tablets. There will also be a bunch of new (and unannounced) features that have yet to be available using electronic ink, and folks living in Europe will be the first to be able to enjoy the Cybook Odyssey. Now to keep our eyes peeled for further leaks and system specifications… Tech Cult – We cover the latest tech news, but always with a funny twist. Comprising of a couple of interchangable massage heads that deliver single point or multi point massage, there is also a heat function in the single point massager which will further increase blood circulation. Of course, I would advise you to get ready your fair share of rechargeable AAA batteries – it requires a trio of these to power up the Heated Egg Massager, and if you’re going to spend plenty of time with it, why not make sure you be as green as possible? This is basically a minifig head made of sturdy yellow plastic, and opening it up will let you perform a ‘magic’ trick as it is capable of sorting up different size LEGO bricks into separate compartments. Don’t believe me? Just throw in a bunch of LEGO bricks into the top, close and shake it up – all small, medium, and large pieces will then be sorted into separate compartments.
