Posted: 10 Feb 2012 08:40 AM PST

Has it happened to you? I’m fairly certain it has happened to everyone, I mean, its never happened to me personally of course. But I almost thought it happened to me once. Please understand, I was very young. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? I am speaking of a horrifying, untimely underpants emergency, the kind that leaves you trapped, paralyzed and unable to continue with the business of living. Few choose to talk about it, and until now, there wasn’t much of a solution to this very common problem.

People everywhere can now heave a collective sigh of relief with the availability of Accoutrement’s brand  ”Emergency Underpants” these lovely white, disposable unisex briefs fit most, and are available in a 1 count package or for those pesky repeat emergencies, a decorative and economical pop-up dispenser. Similar to a tissue box, this fabulous dispenser comes to your rescue when just one pair of emergency underpants isn’t enough.

These nifty undergarments should be kept at school, at work and most especially in your car, where mindless jerks and high speeds have left more than just a few of us in need of some emergency underpants) Whether you choose the single size or the extravagant multi-pair dispenser, just remember what your Mama told you, Always wear clean underwear.

Accoutrement’s Emergency underwear with dispenser is available for under 8 bucks at www.amazon.com and with a single pair packaged in a beautiful and convenient gift tin retailing for only $5.25, lets face it… can you afford NOT to have them?

Kidsocial – the Social Network just for Kids

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 07:33 AM PST

Mommy!? Why can’t I be on Facebook? If I had a dollar for every time I heard that coming out of my 9 year olds mouth… I know a million good reasons why she shouldn’t be on Facebook, only about a hundred or so of them am I willing to share with her in any kind of detail, but it doesnt seem to matter, as the question continues to be raised on average, about 5 times a week.

Well maybe this will shu… I mean, help her to be a happier even more well rounded child, Welcome, Kidsocial a brand new social entertainment website developed just for kids. Kidsocial lets kids listen to music, chat, play games and share photos all in a parent connected, kid-safe environment. The pages cannot be viewed by strangers, and things like sharing and becoming friends are only accomplished with the approval of the parents.

Kidsocial allows the kids to interact in a safe online playground made up of familiar games and brands that developers know our kids already love. Kidsocial uses family friendly filters to present appropriate YouTube videos and also offers programming from Hulu and Grooveshark. Kids can create avatars and challenge each other in games or just hang out and chat.

Kidsocial teamed up with the National Science Center Cyber Ops program that helps educate kids about Cyber Safety, network risks, Cyber Bullying, Cyber Security and even information on cyber careers and since it allows only the connections that we allow (and it lets you set the level of control you feel you need) The result might just be something that I can live with… you know, if she gets all A’s on her report card, and keeps her room clean, and turns the lights out when shes leaving the room. … let’s all hold our breath, shall we?

Angry Birds for Facebook has new power-ups

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 06:30 AM PST

You can say that casual gaming has taken off in a big way, what with the slew of smartphones which we have all around us alongside tablets, mobile gaming has gotten more and more popular. Forget about Bejeweled, Angry Birds is the kind of hit that video game publishers are looking for. This is one franchise that might denote high blood pressure and plenty of angst, but for Rovio, it is their golden goose.

Certainly Rovio is milking the Angry Birds franchise for all it is worth – and with so many expansion packs released to date, they are not quite done with it just yet. Apart from theme parks that have an Angry Birds slant and tons of merchandise, Rovio intends to bring the bird slinging title to the world’s most popular social network, Facebook. Angry Birds for Facebook will be released this Valentine’s Day, and that means it will be accessible to over 850 million users – on paper, at least.

Just what does Angry Birds for Facebook bring to the table? We are looking at the standard Angry Birds kind of gameplay, but there will be new add-ons such as social components, the ability to compete for a new high score among your friends (I am quite sure that this feature alone would let all of those retired Angry Birds players to come out of their retirement), in addition to new power-ups that can help you clear a level with all three stars, when you get too frustrated as none of your avian friends seem to fly the path that you intended them to do.

You can even send gifts to your friends, which I believe would be in the same vein as that of sending Energy Bags to your mates in Tetris Battle. Some of the power ups are definitely novel ideas – want the perfect shot? The Sling Scope offers laser targeting for pinpoint precision. With King Sling, you can fling your birds with style and speed. Super Seeds work like McDonalds – they supersize your bird to wreck even more havoc. Last but not least, Birdquake does what it says – bringing pigs' defenses crashing to the ground. Anyone stoked for the new Angry Birds for Facebook yet?

GEAR4 AirZone Series 1 hits the Apple Store

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 06:00 AM PST

While we have been making strides in becoming a paperless society, you still cannot live without some sort of paper, somewhere. After all, electronic records are not always that reliable, since they can get hacked, stolen or altered. As for a wireless society, that is another different story altogether. Most decent phones these days all fall under the smartphone category, and alongside the tablet category, Wi-Fi connectivity has been incorporated within. The wireless revolution is well and truly underway, although there is still a long, long way to go before we are truly free from wires.

We now have wireless charging for gadgets (although that is not widespread yet) and electric cars, and here is GEAR4 with their latest AirZone Series 1 that boasts AirPlay technology – all without having you being tethered down to a wire, anywhere and everywhere around your home. This chic, clean and curvaceous speaker will come alongside Apple's AirPlay technology.

It does not matter what kind of Apple device you use, you can still stream those tunes wirelessly, be it from iTunes from a Mac or PC as well. Not only that, your home will have one less speaker dock, since there is also no need to dock your device. All you need to do is hook up the AirZone to a Wi-Fi network, and allow the airwaves to get their job done. With Airzone, multitasking is made easier, where from the comfort of your palm, you are able to stream music anywhere in your home or office – while you get up and about your tasks with renewed vigor since your favorite tunes are being played in the background.

The AirZone speaker itself will feature its own FM radio, half a dozen audio equalizer settings, a built-in amplifier and a remote control. AirZone's dock will ensure whatever is docked, be it the iPhone, iPod or iPad, will be juiced up, while those who rock on to other portable media players can always rely on the line-in port. Expect the AirZone Series 1 to retail for $279 a pop.

Working Pedal Powered Forklift

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 05:30 AM PST

Kids these days, they tend to have far cooler toys that we oldies ever had in our younger days. Take the $319.95 Working Pedal Powered Forklift for example – when we were little, we needed to make use of this thing called our imagination if we wanted to drive a forklift around. Not so with these young ‘uns, as their parents can just fork out a certain amount of dough and ta-daa! There they are, with the Working Pedal Powered Forklift sitting in the living room.

This pedal-powered, ride-on version is a toy replica of a Linde 394 forklift, where it will raise and lower itself at its driver’s command. Made in Germany, you turn a hand crank to move its lifting fork, holding it into place with a locking lever. You will manipulate the pedals to power the forklift forward and backwards, where a precisely engineered chain drive will keep it going where you want to. A quartet of plastic tires provide the right kind of rubber traction strips, and with its squat, robust chassis that is made from sturdy ABS plastic, you can be sure that it is going to outlast your kids’ childhood years.

SKLZ Straight Shooter

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 05:03 AM PST

Are you an avid golfer who is always on the lookout to improve your game? Well, there are many ways of going around it, from hiring a full-time golf coach to picking up all the expensive equipment. There is, however, this old adage – a good workman never blames his tools, and this is where the £14.99 SKLZ Straight Shooter comes in handy. You need not spend thousands, and what you would pay for an above average meal outside might eventually be the tool to raise your game by a notch and helping you achieve lower scores on the green.

If you want to practice your golf swing and yet do not really enjoy it at the driving range, most of the time, you would do far more walking and ball picking than swinging. Not so witht the SKLZ Straight Shooter, as this easy to assemble and light device will let you make any swing without having to worry about purchasing a new bucket of golf balls once the current one runs out. All you need to do is be slightly more patient – the moment the ball stops spinning, it is time to take your next shot.
