High Heel Speakers

Posted: 15 Jun 2010 02:10 PM PDT

If you’re a woman who seriously loves her heels or just any general person with a serious foot fetish, now you can have a pair of speakers to show off your real love in the world.  These bright red shoes are sure to attract all sorts of attention, so you’d better be ready to come out of the closet with your foot or shoe loving tendencies.

You may think it’s incredibly strange for anyone to create speakers like this, much less have anyone buy them, but there’s something you should know.  The speakers are Japanese, nuff said.  The USB speakers have an output of 3W x 2ch.  Should you be highly interested in getting a pair, they’re not the cheapest USB speakers out there.  They cost 4480 Yen or about $55, plus the amount of shipping it costs to get them outside of Japan.

Lentek Automatic Pet Dish

Posted: 15 Jun 2010 02:00 PM PDT

One of the down sides of having a pet is that it’s a whole lot harder to ditch town for a week without having a friendly neighbor that you know and trust.  Should you be lacking in the trusty neighbor department, thankfully there are electronics to help you replace people.  This dish will make sure that your cat or dog stays well fed, but not overfed either.

It’s a better option than just dumping extra food in a dish if you want to regulate how much they eat per day.  The 6-day pet dish has an accurate timer and if there happens to be resistance on the feeder it will stop the lid rotation.  That way if your pet happens to be finishing up it won’t catch their paw in the dish somehow.  It can feed the animal in intervals of 6, 12 or 24 hours.  Each compartment can hold about 2/3 cup of dry food, so it’s best for a smaller animal.  You can purchase one of these dishes for $31.54 through Amazon.

USB LED Desk Lamp Plus Fan

Posted: 15 Jun 2010 01:30 PM PDT

Having a small desk usually means you have to sacrifice some of the things you’d like to keep around or you’re going to have to use up floor space.  If you need a fan and a light, but don’t have the room you could always get a fan to sit on the floor and a lamp for your desk.  Then again, you could also use one of these USB lamps that doubles as a fan.  Of course, it might help if you prefer bright flowery gadgets, because this is the only version of the fan up for sale.

To keep it powered the combination gadget just plugs into your normal USB port.  There is one tiny detail that they mention at the very very bottom of the product specs, you cannot actually work the fan and light at the exact same time.  That means you’ll have to choose between light and cooling yourself off.  At least it’s mildly cooler at night when you’ll need the light the most.  If you’re still interested despite that little snag, you can pick one of these up for $16 through Gadget 4 All.

Airship Hotel: Lighter than air, but is still a heavy concept

Posted: 14 Jun 2010 11:12 PM PDT

I always wanted to see a world that we dreamed of before the airplane was invented. A world where airships fill the skies like artificial clouds, and we can live on them as long as we fill them with helium.

We’ve reported about similar concepts before with this self-sustaining blimps, the Aircruise, and the Boeing Skyhook. Yeah, I don’t think that this design, known as Airship Traveling, will ever come to pass unless some rich guy just really wants it. Man, does that say something about technological innovation, or what?

The Airship hotel apparently can stay aloft thanks to the power of the sun. I don’t know how that can be, honestly. I mean, how can solar power keep something aloft that is lighter than air? Considering how solar power is pretty inefficient these days, I wonder how it can somehow make helium. Oh man, it better not be using hydrogen. “Does the Hindenburg ring any bells?”

Still, you have to admire this Airship hotel, just for sheer dream value alone. You will note that the artist decided to put this Airship hotel hovering over what looks like Arizona. I guess that would be quite breathtaking view. By the way, how do the guests check into the Airship hotel, with a helicopter?

KODAK is old hat when it comes to the world of photography, and they are constantly on the lookout to innovate on their products and services. We’re pleased to announce that the company now offers a new line of cameras that will certainly spruce up any wedding, thanks to the KODAK Wedding Single Use Camera range. Of course, we’re pretty sure as well that these can be used for other important and memorable functions, but weddings being weddings, there is nothing quite like notching up all of those Kodak moments for posterity. This new line of fun, stylish KODAK Wedding Single Use Cameras can be used to capture all of the big moments surrounding one’s wedding, not to mention the festivities leading up to them. More details are available after the jump.

We are talking about a couple of new KODAK Wedding Single Use Camera designs that will come in red and blue. Not only that, Kodak has also rolled out the first bachelorette edition of a KODAK Single Use Camera, which will come in teal. Apart from that, Kodak will also produce The Knot “Forever Floral” Single Use Camera, a device which cannot be found anywhere else except via TheKnot.com.

The new blue camera and red camera will boast an elegant rose design of the original white KODAK Wedding Single Use Camera, where the latter itself has turned out to be a rather popular accessory for wedding receptions, engagement parties and bridal showers. As for the bachelorette version of the Single Use Camera, it will feature a “girls’ night out” design with a teal color scheme that goes well with other fun bachelorette party accessories. The Knot Signature Camera, which was obviously designed by The Knot, is a sophisticated, clean design of silver-gray ivy on a white background.

How about the picture quality, you ask? Kodak’s Wedding and Bachelorette Single Use Cameras and The Knot Forever Floral camera use KODAK 800 speed film for sharp pictures and feature a manual flash with 4 to 11.5 foot flash range, retailing for $5.99 a pop. Bear in mind that that isn’t the final price, as it is a special introductory price instead. HTC Aria available from AT&T on June 20

Posted: 14 Jun 2010 10:29 PM PDT

HTC looks like it is up to more smartphone tricks than just the EVO 4G. Take a look at the HTC Aria, and you will notice that it bears a strong resemblance to EVO.

The HTC Aria will be available from AT&T, and it will be available on June 20, which is Father’s Day. That is about four days before another big phone from AT&T is scheduled to appear. I’m talking about the iPhone 4, in case you need more than a subtle hint. By the way, you can pre-order the iPhone 4 from Best Buy tomorrow.

As for specs, the HTC Aria has a 3.2 inch screen, similar to that of the Legend. It has Sense UI and Android 2.1, and no word of any updates to Froyo, or Android 2.2. It also has a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor, 512 MB of ROM, as well as a 5 Megapixel camera with LED Flash.

The Aria is WiFi capable with more than 20,000 hotspots across the United States. It also is compatible with AT&T’s High Sped Pack Access (HSPA) 7.2 Mbps technology for a boost to 3G speeds.

As I’ve said before, the HTC Aria will be out just in time as a gift to your Dad, for about $129 with a $100 mail-in rebate.

Genos CYCLOPS design finalized and ready to hit production

Posted: 14 Jun 2010 10:15 PM PDT

Genos’ final designs for the CYCLOPS are at last complete, where the product is more than ready for production. This unique prototype design was invented using Play Dough, and a couple of patents were filed earlier this year. The product is now ready and being prepared to hit the market in time for the upcoming frantic Christmas season, where it is touted to be the most ergonomically correct controller on the market. Meant to fit perfectly between two hands, it was meant to cater for a keyboard for the GenosTV Cable box, but will instead be sold as a universal remote control for TVs and other consumer electronic devices. Good move, we say – after all, you would end up with a wider target market which should add up the figures in the bottom line. A version is being made for video game consoles as well at point of publishing, so new Xbox 360 owners ought to be pleased to look forward to a new controller in the near future. No idea on pricing as at press time though.

Star Wars Victorinox Pocket Knife

Posted: 14 Jun 2010 10:00 PM PDT

We’ve seen our fair share of pocket knives from Victorinox before, but this one is full of the Force, especially for fans of George Lucas’ creation in the sci-fi soap opera franchise known as Star Wars. We’re talking about the Star Wars Victorinox Pocket Knife, where you can choose from Darth Vader in black and red, Stormtroopers in black and white or R2-D2 in baby blue shades. Of course, all of them are officially licensed LucasFilm collectible editions so you can always pick up all three and leave them as a family heirloom for your grandchildren in time to come. Who knows, it might just become so rare that the
$39.99 you fork out for each now will seem like a bargain of a lifetime down the road?

Microsoft announces the Kinect, formerly Project Natal

Posted: 14 Jun 2010 09:54 PM PDT

It has been a full year since we first mentioned Project Natal. That was at last year’s E3, and at this year’s E3, Microsoft finally unveiled the Project Natal as the Kinect.

As in Kinect to the Xbox 360 and use an RGB camera, 3D depth sensors, and multi-array microphone for a serious motion controlled game that does not require a white stick.

I am here for E3, the big video game in Expo in Los Angeles. The moment that I checked into my hotel room, I saw some sort of decal on my bathroom mirror that said: “All You Have To Do is Be You”. Then I saw the decal in the corner saying Kinect. At that point, I had no idea what the Kinect was.

I swear, the housekeeping staff must have put on that decal just before I walked through the door. I swear that Microsoft just officially announced the Kinect minutes ago, a few blocks away.

You had better expect the Kinect to be in household by Christmas. I believe that they already have over 15 titles ready to go for this, including a Star Wars game and a Dancing game that does not have a spotted matt like Dance Dance Revolution.

This could be the beginning of a new age of gaming. We shall see.
