Want to achieve a higher level of performance when it comes to R/C car model kits? The Hydrogen R/C Car Model Kit might just fit the bill then, where this latest prototype hydrogen fuel cell power kit was specially designed around Tamiya’s TRF 416 carbon fiber chassis. It is still in the prototype stage at point of publishing, so you won’t see it hit the stores anytime soon although we’re pretty sure that enthusiasts can’t wait for an official release. A couple of HydroSTIKs are able to carry around 15Wh of energy or 13L of hydrogen, where they are integrated to the fuel cell electric power-train on either side of the chassis which results in enhanced weight distribution for the car. Bear in mind the TRF-416 chassis is available as an assembly kit and will not ship with wheels, a brushless motor, a speed controller, a servo-motor, receiver and transmitter, as all of those can be purchased separately from your local hobby shop.

Adidas miCoach training platform

Posted: 16 Jan 2010 01:43 PM PST

adidas-personal-trainerEveryone knows the name Adidas as this is a global sportswear leader who has a presence in just about every country. Well, what better way to shed off those pounds garnered during the holiday season feasting than burning it off with good ol’ exercise? Adidas aims to help you achieve your weight goals with their latest miCoach training platform that is capable of coaching you verbally while you are pounding the pavement in your pair of Adidas trainers. Basically, the miCoach is supposed to simplify the science of running while highlighting the importance of personalized coaching in order for you to achieve your personal weight goals in double quick time without taking any shortcuts like half-baked diets and weight-loss foods.

The new miCoach interactive training platform comprises of two different devices – the miCoach Pacer and the miCoach Zone. We’ll take a look at the miCoach Pacer first, where it is a small, lightweight device which is capable of delivering real-time audible coaching with a pair of headphones as you exercise, or it can also work in conjunction with your very own digital audio player. Whenever you run, the miCoach Pacer verbally coach you via various cues including “speed up to green zone” or “slow down to blue zone” among others if you’re pulling a Speedy Gonzales at that moment. This verbal coaching makes sure you will remain within the targeted heart rate zone while making sure you are comfortable with your personal level and timing. As for the miCoach Zone, this easy-to-read color-code LED display is located right on a wristband device, where it offers accurate, real-time information that makes it a snap to train at the right intensity when used in tandem with a heart rate monitor.

With both devices, you can free up your mind to think of other stuff since you no longer need to concentrate on how fast you’re going or whether you are running within your optimal heart rate zone. It practically does all the thinking on your behalf, knowing what your final goal is like and helping you accomplish it in the best and most optimal manner possible. From the website (www.micoach.com), you will be able to create personalized training plans, set the appropriate goals and proactively monitor and manage your progress over time. Expect to fork out $139.99 for the complete miCoach Pacer system, while the Zone retails for $65.99.

Ultimate Ears clearly aims to live up to its name with the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro Custom Monitors that boasts the first six-speaker design from the company, offering musicians a new kind of sound definition and clarity. Each unit is handcrafted just like a fine instrument to make sure it fits comfortably, where its design is capable of helping reduce ambient noise by 26 dBs. Of course, you need not be a performing artist to appreciate what the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro can do for you, as any serious audiophile would also want to check it out for their collection as well.

Just like fingerprints that are unique to just about everyone, the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro Custom Monitors can also be customized to feature a proprietary six-speaker design which is capable of fitting half a dozen individually tuned drivers in each ear, capable of delivering audio sans distortion which are normally what artists look for whenever they are on a live stage performing. Not only that, Ultimate Ears' latest monitors also merge four-way crossovers with acoustic and electrical tuning, patent-pending triple-sound channels as well as a new low-distortion cable which results in the Ultimate Ears sound signature. All sound channels will come with an acoustically tuned in-line filter which ensures the frequencies remain separate and balanced until they make their way to your ear naturally, and not within the monitors themselves. You would be pleased to know that the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro Custom Monitors will play nice with wireless transmission systems and portable media devices. Each purchase will come in a rugged, personalized aluminum

roadie box that is up to the task when it comes to touring the country with your band. Interested? The Ultimate Ears 18 Pro Custom Monitors can be picked up from next month onwards for $1,350.

The Briefcase USB Turntable

Posted: 15 Jan 2010 02:00 PM PST

briefcaseTurntable

I’ve never had a moment where I felt as if I was in dire need of a turntable concealed inside of a briefcase.  Then again, I could be the oddball, maybe everyone is dying for a record player that they can carry around everywhere.  Granted it’s not as portable as an MP3 player, but it’s unlikely that it’s much heavier than a laptop.  You’ll look completely professional up until you open it up and people realize you’re toting around a turntable.

The high-quality turntable will convert all of your precious vinyl into digital format.  It’s a belt driven mechanism that will play 7", 10" and 12" records.  It also features a fully automatic return tone arm and built-in dynamic full range stereo speakers.  The exterior is wrapped in vinyl and has connectors to hook the turntable up to your USB port.  You can pick up the Briefcase USB Turntable for $69.99 from Think Geek.
