The Star Wars Holographic Animation Lab uses the technology of a praxinoscope, which is the next step from a zoetrope. I’m sure all have you have seen at least one of these devices in their lifetime. This toy comes with 10 double-sided animation discs. You can put them in the reader, and, as you can see from the picture, these images can spin and produce animation. These discs have a blank side so the user can create his or her own animations. Yeah, that does sound like a time-consuming project, and its pretty limited as far as how much animation can be done, probably. I have been told that this is a toy for “adult collectors only”. Apparently this thing has way too many sharp edges to be played with by the little tykes. However, I think this is clearly a toy, and probably should be played with by the audience who will appreciate it the most. I have also been told that this toy requires no batteries. That’s right, it would appear the the user just spins the thing to get it to work. You can pre-order the Star Wars Holographic Animation Lab from the Big Bad Toy Store for about $15.99. These Nomadic plants are designed by a Mexican artist named Gilberto Espaza. I’m not certain whether or not this is something that actually works, but the idea is that the Nomadic plant is a self-contained cyborg that can hold plants and micro-organisms. It is a microbial fuel cell for power, and it can drink polluted water. That’s right, polluted water. Somehow it can use the water to nourish the plants and microbes, and they power the microbial fuel cell. Don’t ask me how it can filter out the pollutants, but maybe plants don’t need unpolluted water like we do. As you might have guessed, Espaza wants to save the planet. While is Nomadic Plants might not work, they definitely a step in the right direction as far as solving the environment problem. They will be exhibited at the Laboral Art and Industrial Creation Center in Gijon, Spain through June 7th. Perhaps these Nomadic Plants were the next phase of Buy N Large’s plan to save the Earth. After all the WALL-E robots had stacked all the packed garbage cubes into building-sized piles. I would hope that these Nomadic plants would plant themselves and create more plants to really fix the atmosphere. Maybe the CEO of Buy N Large wouldn’t have ordered everyone to stay in space. For those of you that enjoy staring at Darth Vader action figures more than you like seeing the time, you’re in luck. You can purchase this clock, which is pretty much a large statue with an itty bitty clock at the bottom. Sure, you’ll have to squint to read the time, but you have an impressive action figure to put on your desk. I’m trying really hard not to notice that Darth Vader has a stick up his…well, I mean, look at it. That explains so much about Darth Vader. The whole thing stands 13 inches tall, so it’s not so bulky that it’ll take up a lot of room. It requires 2 LR44 watch batteries, which are not included. If you know someone who has a thing for cars, now you can get them a novelty radio to go with their tastes. The gear shift lets them maneuver their way to their favorite channel. If they feel the need, they can even make the necessary car noises to make things a little more authentic. Don’t worry, you don’t need to know how to drive a stick in order to work the radio. The shifter controls volume by pressing it up or down in the appropriate spot. Then you can reset and scan by pressing it left or right. Sure, I still love Star Wars toys, and this one is more of a Clone Wars related toy. The Star Wars “Holographic” Animation Lab isn’t exactly one of the cool holographic communicator/viewers from the movie, but it probably is the next best thing. 
I realize that what you are looking at looks like a still shot from a science fiction film, and I wish to say that this was complete science fact.
For folks who put stuff in their front shirt pockets, ever let anything slip out by accident each time you bend down to pick something up, or to tie your shoelaces? This is one of the main reasons why you should never place a cellphone in there, or woe to you should the handset kiss some concrete. Of course, while that is highly undesireable, things could be worse – case in point, dropping your handset into the toilet bowl or a drain, or basically anywhere else with water. After all, everyone knows that electronics and water make great enemies due to their nature. What are you to do if that happened to you? Why, you can always check out the Wet Cellular Phone Emergency Kit from HPL, where it is scheduled to be released worldwide later this month.
