V-Moda delivers Metallo smartphone case

I am quite sure that many of us have heard the name of V-Moda before, and this time around, they have unveiled yet another smartphone case for the masses, although it will concentrate more on the high end models. I am referring to the new Metallo designer cases from V-Moda that will cater for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5, where each Metallo case's main reason of existence is to defend your smartphone without compromising on style, while offering a perfect balance of solid tactile feel and lightweight portability. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it?

The V-Moda Metallo was specially designed as a standalone case, but it also has a "hidden power" so to speak, that is, to work in parallel with V-Moda's recently announced VAMP VERZA mobile Hi-Fi amplifier, DAC, and battery charger. This definitely helps make life easier for those who want to build a collection of accessories around a single brand, not to mention having the brand's design DNA infused in each of these individual accessories for a more uniform look. The V-Moda Metallo will come with interchangeable back plates to deliver maximum versatility, and will include a solid aluminum plate and the Verzadock that will bolt itself onto VAMP VERZA's 4-bolt main design, allowing you to slide and lock the smartphone to this portable audio powerhouse.

Just like many of the newer devices and accessories these days, the Metallo too, has been forged from the fires of Mount Doom itself – nay, I jest, but rather, from a single aluminum metal block that is machine milled and laser-cut via a state-of-the-art, precise design process which requires a full hour to complete each case. Got to love the unique V-ANGLE design as well as tactile audio feedback of switching back plates that sounds as though you are unsheathing a sword. Sharp! The asking price for the Metallo for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 would be $101, where it will arrive in Red Coral, Silver Snake, Orange Serpente and Black Mamba designs.

Sony's New Digital Recording Binoculars – Up Close and Personal

I guess I wouldn’t call myself a birdwatcher, but there are quite a few interesting creatures hanging out around my house, most notably a very noisy Woody-Woodpecker type bird that startles me awake each and every morning, believing someone is firing an automatic weapon at my house. I’d love to get some pictures of that bird, but I always seem to miss the “moment”

Well, Sony has an answer to some of those missed wildlife moments, or even some of that quick sports action that usually passes you by… Check out Sony’s DEV-50V new, smaller, lighter, and weatherproof HD digital recording binoculars. This second generation of binoculars not only gives you excellent viewing, they also give you the ability to to take HD video with stereo sound, or snap 20.4 megapixel stills with just the touch of a button, and low light is no problem!

The DEV-50V is actually 30% lighter than the old models and includes splash and dust resistance, so a little inclement weather shouldn’t rain on your parade. The DEV-50V has a variable zoom that allows you to zero in on your “target” with a magnification range of up to 25X and it utilizes a new Hyper Gain function which electronically increases brightness in your viewfinder, so you can locate and frame things even in dim conditions.

These binoculars also have an electronic autofocus, so theres no need to manually focus, like with your old low tech binoculars, and it keeps things sharp even if they’re moving. Yes, the DEV-50V has geo-tagging capability and it lets you record scenes in awesome 3-D! I love it! The new DEV-50V digital recordable binoculars from Sony will be available in June for about $2000. Yikes! I might have to save up some cash, but rest assured, either way – I’m going to “shoot” that bird.

Sony Cyber-shot HX50 camera announced

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that camera manufacturers do have secret meetings from time to time, discussing among them just when is the right time to roll out their new batch of cameras – all simultaneously, to confuse the masses, and most of the time, the hardware that is newly released too, would also be more or less the same that makes things all the more confounding. Well, Sony has come up with yet another digital camera, the Cyber-shot HX50, where it will boast of a powerful new compact that features an impressive 30x optical zoom range, sporting an advanced 20.4-megapixel “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor.

The Sony Cyber-shot HX50 measures approximately 4.4″ x 2.6″ x 1.2″1 in size, where it tips the scales in the region of 9.6 oz., clearly placing it as the forerunner to pick up the gong of being the world’s smallest and lightest camera that sports a 30x optical zoom capability. In order to complement the extensive zoom, the new Sony Cyber-shot HX50V camera will feature enhanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization in order to help you reduce camera shake as well as blur regardless of the range. At full zoom extension (30x), the HX50V camera will be able to deliver stabilization levels that is approximately twice as effective as the HX200V high-zoom model that was introduced last year.

As for the high-resolution 20.4 megapixel sensor that features in this new camera, it will be accompanied by a powerful BIONZ processor, which would enable this shooter to produce high-resolution, high-quality images regardless of the lighting conditions, be they broad daylight to dimly lit interiors as well as everything in between. Not only that, the new HX50V camera will also feature built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, making use of Sony’s PlayMemories Mobile application that works on both Android and iOS app platforms that allows it to wirelessly transfer photos and videos to a compatible smartphone or tablet.

The asking price for the new Sony Cyber-shot HX50V compact digital camera would be approximately $450 as it arrives later next month.

Juice Chargers keep your devices powered

These days, we tend to use the term "My phone has run out of juice", where that particular statement means that your smartphone's battery has bottomed out, and you obviously need to send it to the nearest power outlet with an appropriate charger, too. How about going with the flow this time around with the Juice Chargers? These will come in £14.99 and £16.99 price tags, where the former sports a blackberry juice exterior with a microUSB connector, while the latter is a pseudo orange juice box with multi-connectors to cater for a bunch of different devices.

Of course, it is interesting to note that you can also place a pre-order for what is coming up – the inevitable apple juice, where it prophetically caters for the second and third generation iPhone models from Cupertino. Each Juice Charger would come with a padded carry-bag for that added touch of convenience, and with such portable power being at your fingertips in a size that is extremely travel friendly, you might want to get one of these for yourself sooner rather than later.

iNail Art – Your Nails, Your Way

I love a nice manicure and pedicure as much as the next girl. I wish I had enough time to relax and be pampered more often. The problem with me is I’m pretty tough on my hands and those lovely paint jobs seem to last only a few days for me. I often wondered why high tech had not infiltrated the fake nail industry, I mean, imagine what kind of nail art a computer could generate. Some really swanky nail graphics could be fun enough to get me back to the salon, even just for special occasions.

Check out iNail Art, a nifty new printer that can print out personalized nail art in a matter of seconds, with just the press of a button. The iNail can print on real, or artificial finger or toe nails and can do almost any design you choose. Personally, I’m wondering about photographs. These aren’t decals either, your designs are actually printed directly on your nails and can last for up to 15 days.

Don’t get too excited though, it’s not likely you’ll be bringing one home for Friday night sleepovers, they are priced for the nail service industry, so you’ll have to find one at a salon near you. If you would like to find one, or learn more about iNail Art Printers please visit their website at iNailart.com until then, we can just wait for the day we can take pictures and art from our smartphones and print them right on our nails at home.. that’s gotta be coming our way soon, don’t you think?
