Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400

Logitech has been well known for their range of video gaming peripherals, so it makes perfect sense when they take what they have and improve it even further – even when you originally thought that there was no way of improving it. The device in question? The Logitech MX518′s successor, of course. Many might figure out that the best selling mouse from Logitech to date might need no improvement, but guess again – the Swiss masters know that there is always room for improvement, which is why they went back to the drawing board and came up with its successor, the Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400.

The whole point of coming up with the G400 was to take everything that was good and right with the MX518, and in a stroke of engineering genius, to make it even better. Logitech were very careful not to change anything that was already perfected, such as the shape, tracking consistency, button layout, and legendary durability. Heck, Logitech even managed to make something better cost the same.

First of all, the 1800 DPI sensor has been upgraded to a higher-resolution 3600 DPI version, so to put it in plain English, this makes it fully possible for you to perform high-speed turns without having to do wide hand sweeps, all the while maintaining fidelity. To keep up with the trend, you can also adjust DPI levels on the fly (to 400, 800, 1800, and now 3600 DPI) without the need for any software. As it is just an upgraded version of the MX518 sensor, you can expect to enjoy a similar tracking consistency (<0.5% cursor to hand movement variance at up to 140 IPS, depending on surface) that you have come to know and love.

Apart from that, the optional button programming software will open up new avenues for you to be king of the gaming hill, since the button and tracking configuration capabilities will feature similar software that is used to program the G-Series keyboards and the Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard. Basically, this enables you to create a macro once, using it on both the G-Series keyboard and the G400 Mouse.
