BellyBuds Pregnancy Bellyphones Posted: 16 Aug 2010 02:06 PM PDT Mom’s have been talking about the benefits of playing music for babies for quite some time. With these Bellybuds you can play music for just the baby no matter where you’re at. With the pair of Bellybuds attached to your stomach the music won’t be able to be heard by the rest of the room. Plus since they’re just a pair of earphones for your belly, you can hand pick exactly what music you’d like to be played. The Bellybuds come with several items, including 2 different sets of hydrogel adhesive rings to make sure that the buds can stay secured while your belly/the baby continues to grow. You get one set of Bellyphones, a neoprene storage pouch with belt clip and buddons to dampen the external sound. One nice perk is that it comes with an audio splitter so that you can listen to the same thing as the baby. You can purchase the full set for $49.99. You can also get a 3-pack of replacement adhesive rings for $14.99. Tocky Alarm Clock bounces away Posted: 16 Aug 2010 01:46 PM PDT You might remember Clocky, an alarm clock that rolls away and hides the moment it goes off. Which leaves you to run off and chase it down before you can shut it down. Well apparently this is Clocky’s tech saavy brother. Instead of rolling away, this hops off of your nightstand and rolls away. Just like Clocky you’ll be stuck chasing it down in order to make the alarm stop. This clock even has a built-in microphone so that you can record your own sounds to wake up with. It means college students can still wake up to the sound of their mother’s voice. If you really don’t want to feel that close to your mother you can also upload MP3s to it. Tocky comes in orange, aqua, kiwi and white. For a little extra cash you can get a skin 2 pack for the clock. You can purchase it for $79 through Nanda Home. Posted: 16 Aug 2010 01:12 PM PDT Inkless pens are one way of cutting down on buying new pens and pencils all of the time. This cool little pen has absolutely no ink and will last for a lifetime. It’s not the first inkless pen to be created, actually it’s a very old concept. It’s just a new design of an old idea. However, looking at this pen there’s nothing ancient about it, it actually looks extremely modern if anything. This version of the inkless pen features a nice stainless steel barrel on it. The tip itself is made of lead, which yes can be a dangerous material. However, in this particular case you’d have to ingest quite a bit of it to actually succeed in causing any damage. The tip will write on both regular paper and glossy paper. It won’t actually mark on your clothing though, so you won’t need a cap to protect your clothing from getting accidentally smudged. The marks of this pen look like pencil, but won’t smudge and are permanent. If you don’t like the tip being as broad as it is, then you can take a piece of sandpaper to it. The Inkless Metal Pen can be purchased for $27.95 through Vat 19. Source: Gizmodiva Tech Cult – We cover the latest tech news, but always with a funny twist. Posted: 16 Aug 2010 10:35 AM PDT This is Tony and Judie Ellis, and they don’t have a child. Instead, they have a robot that they created. If you are having flashbacks from that 2001 Steven Spielberg film A.I., then you are not alone. However, the robot AIMEC is no Haley Joel Osment. (Whatever happened to him, by the way?) No, Tony and Judie Ellis have a robotics company called Conceptioneering from out of their house, and they are testing AIMEC as a toy. They expect to have it out within two years. Yeah, this isn’t some couple that wants to adopt a robot instead of a real kid. That’s probably weird. The robot itself has some interesting features. For example, it can snore while it sleeps and wakes up by stretching. By the way, it also do robot voices like C-3PO. I don’t know what else this robot can do, but it does have arms. Perhaps it can clean up ones room. It looks like it has wheels on the bottom of it, so don’t count on it taking a flight of stairs. Hopefully, they will have some more features on this thing by the time of its release. They expect it to be for a low price of about $300. Tablecloth pulling trick comes to a video game form Posted: 16 Aug 2010 10:10 AM PDT You know that trick that magicians can do where they pull the tablecloth from under a fully set dining room table and the dishes stay there? How would you like to do that as a video game? This is The Tablecloth Hour, a standup game that was installed at the Taito Station in Shibuya. All you need to do is yank it like a magician would, and it matches a virtual tablecloth that has a virtual set table. Okay, this is the time where I talk about the tablecloth trick, and how I don’t know how it is done. I remember hearing that it uses magnets on the table and the dishes, but this video game seems to imply that it is all in the pull. I suppose that this video game is a trend in video games that are more interactive. I wonder if you could make this into a Kinect game, and remove the tablecloth altogether. Better yet, just make it into a Wii game and use the Wiimote as the object to pull. Considering that most stand-up video games have gone the way of the dinosaur, you have to put this on a console. I don’t know if a mobile version of The Tablecloth Hour would work, though. Perhaps there isn’t an app for this. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. Pedal-Powered Submarine, the Scubster Posted: 16 Aug 2010 09:37 AM PDT Nothing like personal submarines to make me dream of a wonderful underwater playland. We’ve covered a lot of them in the past like the Marion Hyper-sub powerboat, the Nautilus VAS Luxury submersible, even Richard Branson's underwater plane, the Nymph. The last one was a yellow submarine that two people could live in. This yellow one is built for one, but it is unique because it is pedal powered. Granted, I do not know how in the world it can dive or surface, but it can reach a depth of 20 feet. It is called the Scubster, but I don’t know if it is pronounced like Scoob-ster or a word that rhymes with scrub-ster, but it can go at 6 miles per hour. You might not think that a vessel that goes 6 miles per hour and only 20 feet underwater is worth it. However, if you are willing to put this in a shallow area of the ocean, I would imagine that you might have some fun. I wonder what would happen if you took this into water that is deeper than 20 feet. Would it sink down and never come back? You will also note that the driver has to wear some scuba gear. I can’t tell if the driver is underwater or not. Coolest Gadgets UK – For all your UK centric tech and gadget news.
