A Bladeless Ceiling Fan

Whether Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall the need for air circulation exists. Sometimes it is a matter of blowing around the heat coming from the vent. Other times the cold air needs to flow. And other days the weather is perfect – just stagnant – and a fan becomes a savior. Ceiling fans have certainly become a necessity in many rooms. But have you ever been in a room with a short ceiling? Nope, no fan. Or how about those ceiling fans that make too much racket. The 'whir whir' of a noisy fan sure can ruin a good movie night. And the airflow from a typical ceiling fan is far from consistent. One person always seems to be in the vortex while others feel nothing.

The Exhale™ Fan look to revolutionize the meaning of a ceiling fan. Their bladeless invention creates 360° airflow. How? Take a look at the video above. Using a sort of vortex airflow, Exhale pulls air in from below and spills it back out the sides. What you get is air passing over you from the side – similar to a breeze. The unit offers a remote control like other ceiling fans, a stylish, unobtrusive design and 9 color options.

Exhale launched on Indiegogo in November and quickly reached their $35,000 goal. They will commence production in Q1 2013 and you can sign up to learn when pre-orders can be placed on their website. If you are looking for an alternative to the bladed ceiling fan I suggest you visit their site or Indiegogo page to learn more about this unique approach to a home necessity.

Self-Portraits With Ease

Check out the pictures on your phone. I am willing to bet that you have at least one self-portrait. Maybe it is you, or maybe you and someone else. But you know that look. Your arm is outstretched to one side and you are usually not centered. Don't get me wrong, the 'flip' option some phone cameras has helps. But you still have to stretch your arm out to get the photo. Not really a natural pose.

What all self-portrait takers need is a Remote Shutter from Gizmon. Compatible with iPhone 3GS through 5, iPad2 and new iPad and iPod touch (gen. 4+) – simply plug in to the headphone jack and you can remotely click away. The button looks like an old film roll and is available in red, green or yellow for $23 on Amazon. The retractable cord enables you to stretch out if needed too. Gizmon also offers a variety of old school camera looking iPhone cases, which the shutter is also compatible with if you want to go real retro. So take your self-portraits with ease and make yourself look natural. Or if using a tripod set things up and snap like a pro. But don't strain and stretch to take the pictures.

Lifeproof for iPhone 5

So you have decided to take the plunge and settle for the iPhone 5 as your smartphone of choice. What would the next step be? Why, picking up a protective case for it, of course. After all, there is no need to worry about tiny scratches, knocks, and perhaps the accidental drop when you have your iPhone 5 safely stashed away in a decent case, and the folks over at Firebox decided that this Christmas would be far better for your iPhone 5 if it were to be stored in the £59.99 Lifeproof for iPhone 5, where you can choose from black or white colors.

No longer do you need to make the difficult choice between a slim and stylish case that looks just great cosmetically but does not deliver any kind of protection, or from a chunky and cumbersome case that makes your iPhone 5 more or less disaster proof, but looks like a tough nut to crack? Well, such a compromise is an issue any more, as the £59.99 Lifeproof for iPhone 5 is said to be able to protect your mobile from drops, knocks and splashes.

Vers 1Q Wood Cube Portable Bluetooth Sound System

Christmas is fast approaching, and just in case you have run out of ideas as to what kind of gift to get who, perhaps a general gift idea would suffice. Most folks cannot live without their music, and if one were to rely on puny desktop speakers, that won't do justice to the artist (unless it is Justin Bieber playing in the background, of course), so why not let the Bob Cratchit in your office smile this Yuletide season by gifting him the $119.99 Vers 1Q Wood Cube Portable Bluetooth Sound System?

Yes sir, as the name suggests, the Vers 1Q Wood Cube Portable Bluetooth Sound System is a wireless system. Whoever said that big things do not come in small packages? The Vers 1Q will definitely fit the bill here, delivering booming audio despite its rather diminutive size. It is a snap to pair this bad boy up with your Bluetooth-enabled devices, and when you plug two together, voila! You end up with instant 13 watt stereo right there and then. Coming in a 3″ hand-crafted wood cube, you can be sure that the Vers 1Q is unique on its own, and no two are the same.

AAXA LED Showtime 3D Projector brings portable to a new level

AAXA Technologies has just announced that they have a spanking new projector for the masses, and that would be the AAXA LED Showtime 3D Projector. AAXA Technologies themselves are old hat when it comes to delivering portable projectors to the market, but this time around, they seem to have hit new heights with the AAXA LED Showtime Micro Projector as it makes use of next generation Light-Emitting-Diodes (LEDs) projection technology, and when that is merged with a high resolution 1280 x 800 DLP imager, you know for sure that your eyes are in for a spanking good time. After all, LEDs have been proven to be superior to lamp based projectors, and this is made possible by directly injecting red, green, and blue light into the projection engine, rather than taking the old school route of relying on filtered white light. As a result, you end up with images that are far more vivid and colorful in nature.

Advertised to sport a 20,000 hour life-span, which is tens times longer compared to a traditional lamp projector, the AAXA LED Showtime 3D Projector will feature native 720P (WXGA) resolution that is powered by a Texas Instruments DLP imager, and apart from the 20,000 hour LEDs, there is also a 3D ready graphics processor inside, in addition to an onboard Movie, Slideshow, and Music player. All of these might sound as though it needs plenty of space to fit in, but in reality, they are all housed within a micro form-factor that measures a mere 5.9" x 5.2" x 1.4", making it able to fit in the palm of your hand. This can be said to be a true mini projector that can deliver giant, deep, immersive video and game-play of up to 160".

There is a wide range of input sources, where among them are HDMI and VGA connections, a Composite Video input cable, and a USB memory stick slot that paves the way for media playback. As for outputs, you get a 3.5mm headphone jack and integrated 2-watt speakers – not much, but functional for a small viewing crowd. A rather robust 880MHz ARM chipset will keep the AAXA LED Showtime 3D Projector going, rendering high resolution full-length movies and high megapixel digital pictures without missing a beat.

Want 3D? Not a problem with the "DLP-3D" processor that displays 3D movies, games, and education content (although you will need a pair of 3D glasses and Quad Buffered 3d Graphics card to have it work). The asking price for the AAXA LED Showtime 3D projector is $499.99 a pop.
