This Lego Sequencer MR II, which uses the famous brick to make different sound combinations. You can watch a video of this Lego instrument in action, and I’m not certain why the other half of this device looks this way. Apparently, putting the bricks in certain places, along with certain colors of bricks alters the sound. In fact, you can make all sorts of combinations in stacks of bricks for all kinds of rhythms. It reminds me of one of those Casio keyboards back in the eighties, but instead of buttons, you have to connect Lego bricks together. I don’t know if this is one instrument that I would play, but I really think that Lego needs to adopt this on their catalog. This would be bigger than when they started making Lego Star Wars toys. Okay, maybe not that big. Still, it would be an instrument that I could play. Perhaps I could be a steampunk musician. Maybe I’ll just stick to the Beamz Interactive.

I always wondered if the film would have been scarier had it taken place during the six months of night. I think Christopher Nolan, the director of the film, had to make the dark Batman Begins to make up for the daylight of Insomnia. I hope I never have to live in a night that last six months. I bring this up because a town of Inuvik was in that perpetual night, until Tropicana came to town. The orange juice company hooked up a gigantic helium balloon with about 100,000 lumens to make an artificial sun. You can see the video after the jump. And then they passed out orange juice and filmed a commercial. Granted, it is rather a lame excuse to pitch your product to Inuvik, but a good excuse to see if you can really make an artificial sun to brighten a town that was shrouded in darkness. At least the Tropicana sun is much more constructive than Icarus, the artificial sun/big fricking laser in Die Another Day. Better late than never, VirtuSphere is here to bring our virutal reality dreams to life. As you can see, the VirtuSphere looks like the Ball of Death from The Simpsons Movie, and it allows a player to move somewhat freely in any direction for the game that they want to play. There is a video after the jump, and you can see that it takes a team to get a player in this giant, metal, stationary hamster ball. To me, it looks just plain unsteady. I would think that it would get used to, but this player in the vid does not even trip once. The game that he’s playing doesn’t look very good, though. Couldn’t they set it up for Metroid Prime or Tomb Raider? This video was taken at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and, as you might have guessed, it would be quite expensive to get it on your own. It would cost about $55,000.00, and you would need a lot of space to make it work. Not to mention a team to lock you in, I guess. I’ve heard that there will be one at the Excalibur in Las Vegas. Boot and shoe dryers are definitely convenient, but they only work for your shoes. It seems like a waste of money to spend your hard earned money on a gadget with only one function. Instead you need something like this Universal Drying Apparatus. Instead of just drying just your shoes it can handle other things like your clothing or even your umbrella. It’s definitely a must have gadget for the rain filled season we’re about to begin. The device has adjustable arms that allow for it to work in more ways than one. Adjust the arms and it holds your umbrella, move them around again and the dryer will hover over your shoes. Not only does it dry off your clothing, umbrellas and accessories, but it also can dry out seeds and berries. It’s definitely a more useful gadget to have around. There are times I genuinely feel sorry for teenagers these days. Usually a lot of people grumble about all the new electronics that kids get to use, that they never got to have as kids. Back in the early nineties, we all thought that the video games of 2010 would be with goggles and a toy gun. We were wrong with Virtual Boy, and we never figured out a way to get a player to run in a game while standing still in the gaming area.
