You don’t have to work for the “man” long to know how slow the clock moves during worktime, and how fast it goes during lunch.

Fortunately, this Lunchtime clock is designed to speed up twenty percent at 11 AM and then slows down twenty percent at 11:48, which adds 12 precious minutes to lunch.

This will allow for an extra hour worth of lunch for the whole week. Not only that , it will be back in sync in 1:00 PM real time when the 1:12 PM lunchbreak ends.

There is sadly no way to buy this thing at the store, but you can find out how to make one at my Source Link. Unfortunately, there isn’t any instruction how to make it as a digital clock.

Now, here is the real problem, whether or not your boss will fall for that. Of course, I lose track of the clock all the time, and as long the time eventually caught up with itself, would anyone even notice? Let’s just put it this way: would you be willing to bet your job over it?

I wonder where else I can use this? Perhaps I can shave time off of football games. Of course, the clock stops and starts all the time, so who would notice?

The 3D Giant Chalk from Crayola

I would like to think that 3D is going to be this force that will sweep the nation, but I have yet to see that.

Of course, I remember my first encounter with 3D as a kid. It was a poster in Dynamite magazine, and I’m pretty certain that puts my age as middle. It was almost thirty years ago, but I will always remember the thrill of discovering the red and blue drawings that seemed to float off of the page.

This is why Crayola wanted to put the 3D experience in a box with 3D Giant Chalk. Somehow, the child is able to draw on the sidewalk, and using special glasses that allows them to view it in 3D.

Of course, that sounds like one of those “easier said than done tasks”. Have you ever tried to draw a crayon drawing to be seen in 3D by one of those old-school red and blue 3D glasses before? I never could figure it out. Hopefully, the instructions of this Crayola book will be simpler. I can’t imagine that you can just draw something, put on 3D glasses, and whammo! Your own creation is flying out into your face.

Epson PowerLite D6150, D6155W, and D6250 offer sufficient bang for your buck

Epson is back with a trio of more projectors that intend to blow your mind (and eyes) away, thanks to the following models – the PowerLite D6150, D6155W, and D6250, where either one of the three will be able to deliver sufficient bang for your hard earned money, although there are minor differences among the three in which we will look at in greater detail right after the jump. Part of the now famous Epson PowerLite D6000 series, these robust projectors will target the higher education sector, where they will deliver high brightness and exceptional picture quality with a dust resistant design, a 10,000 hour electrostatic filter and lamp life of 5,000 hours so that you (or your organization) need not blow the bank while owning it.

The Epson PowerLite D6150 is capable of delivering 3,500 lumens of color and white light output with XGA resolution. As for the PowerLite D6155W, this puppy will release 3,500 lumens of color and white light output with WXGA resolution for widescreen content. Last but not least would be the PowerLite D6250, featuring 4,000 lumens of color and white light output with XGA resolution.

Among the shared features that the Epson PowerLite D6150, D6155W and D6250 share when it comes to the higher education arena would include an extremely robust design, where they are dust resistant while sporting exhaust vent shutters that make these projectors work just fine even in dusty environments. An electrostatic filter with a 10,000 hour life and lamp life of up to 5,000 hours using Epson’s exclusive E-TORL lamp technology will also translate to a relatively low total cost of ownership. As for its cable cover, that will help protect connectors from dust and prevent uninvited tampering. With HDMI and USB connectivity, you can be sure that digital audio and video can be transferred seamlessly, although we’re quite sure that some of you out there would prefer to see wireless streaming capability – perhaps in the next iteration of the 6000 series, hmmm?

The Epson PowerLite D6150, D6155W and D6250 will retail for $1,649, $1,799 and $1,799 as all three will hit the market in April later this year.

Victorinox introduces Slim, Slim Duo and Secure SSD USB devices

Victorinox has long been a staple name where Swiss Army Knives are concerned, and it is nice to see the company keep up with the times with their latest range of devices for the ever hungry mass market – we’re talking about the Slim, Slim Duo and Secure SSD USB devices. For those of you who managed to attend this year’s CES and made up part of the 140,000 entourage there, you might have chanced upon Victorinox’s booth. Well, good news if you didn’t manage to simply because there wasn’t enough time to cover the showfloor – at least we are able to bring you official word on a trio of new products – the Victorinox Slim, Victorinox Slim Duo and the Victorinox Secure SSD.

The new Slim range will comprise of an advanced USB flash drive that will cater to the more utilitarian man, as well as those who are frequent travelers since flight friendly versions are also available. Just like how you love to be unique yourself, these will come in a range of its very own designs, colors and slim dimensions alongside data storage of up to 128GB. The Angry Birds phenomenon continues here on Coolest Gadgets with the Angry Birds Backpack Clips, where the name itself is pretty much self-explanatory. After all, who could resist these cute little buggers, especially when one is angry? These backpack clips will work as they are named, coming in the form of yellow, blue and red birds, although the blue one still comes as a solitary flyer instead of splitting into three as most people might expect. They are now up for pre-order at £3.99 each, shipping only on March 1st 2011 onwards. Perfect to help you snuggle up to the real deal whenever your smartphone’s version of Angry Birds cannot be played due to a dead battery. Not only will kids love them, adults too, find them adorable and worth a look. Evil piggies will definitely have to keep a keen eye out from these invading birds, although we would have loved to see a piggy version released as well.

Now look at this mug – it is definitely a totally different design from what you’ve seen before, as it will surely make your guests sit up whenever you serve them coffee with this. The Face Mug, as it is obviously and affectionately called, might cost a rather pricey $18, but at least it comes with a hungry mouth orifice that allows you to hang a cookie from it, making it ideal for serving milk as well as cookies, or you can always opt to throw in coffee and doughnuts if that’s your cup of tea (pun not intended). Of course, there is no provision made to contain those crumbs as you chew on the cookies, and it won’t be able to hold as much coffee as some of you might prefer. At least the white ceramic in which it comes in can be artistically painted over by the more enterprising of folks out there.

Gefen offers more connectivity solutions with two new HDMI extenders

Mention Gefen and most audio visual enthusiasts out there would definitely have heard of this marquee, where it brings quality to the living room at affordable prices. Well, Gefen has just announced that they will be rolling out a couple of companion products for matrix switching systems using HDMI. They are both CAT-6 cable-based extenders that will deliver support for 3DTV for an instant delivery of 1080p full HD and multi-channel audio. We shall look into both the 4X CAT-6 Extender for HDMI and the 8X CAT-6 Extender for HDMI in greater detail in the extended post.

First of all, the 4X CAT-6 Extender for HDMI is a single rack-mounted extender which can be combined with any Gefen 4×4 matrix product. It will extend all four connected outputs via CAT-6 cable up to 200 feet (60m) to the remote HDTV displays, helping streamline any installation which requires HDTV displays in different locations. A solitary CAT-6 cable will be placed between the sender and receiver unit(s), helping deliver 1080p full HD with 3DTV, multi-channel audio, Gefen's FST (Fast Switching Technology), IR remote, RS-232 and IP control. As for the sender, it will comprise of a quartet of sender units in a one rack-mount solution which can fit next to any mounted 4×4 matrix system. The four individual receiver units will connect the displays to the sender.

As for the 8X CAT-6 Extender for HDMI, this companion extender for Gefen 8×8 matrix products enables all eight connected outputs to be extended up to 200 feet (60 m) from the sources using one CAT-6 cable per display. As with its smaller brother, a single CAT-6 cable is capable of transmitting 1080p full HD video with 3DTV, multi-channel audio, FST (Fast Switching Technology), IR remote, RS-232 and IP control signals from the selected source (connected to the matrix) to the remote destination (display). The sender will comprise of eight sender units in a single rack-mount solution for convenient access to the matrix system. Eight individual receiver units connect the displays to the sender.

Both the 4X and 8X CAT-6 Extenders for HDMI can function as companions to the 4×4 or 8×8 Matrixes from Gefen, and alternatively, you can also opt for them to be used as stand-alone extender for any number of HDTV displays. Any takers to improve their living room entertainment?

Angry Birds Mini Plush with Sound

You know that CES 2011 saw Mattel introduce the Angry Birds game in the analog world – yup, that’s right, we now have Angry Birds in the real world where you will need to painstakingly stack up a bunch of wood, glass and stone pieces (they’re all made out of plastic actually, just differentiated by their texture and color), while stashing away the evil pigs before letting loose a torrent of Angry Birds. Well, things have taken on a softer stand now with the Angry Birds Mini Plush with Sound, which are pretty much self-explanatory in the first place. Available in white, blue, yellow, black, red and Piggy form factors, they retail for £4.99 a pop. They will chirp and oink (for the pig, obviously) each time you squeeze them, reinforcing further this cultural establishment of iPhone games in common consciousness. You can be sure that this will draw more attention than an actual parrot sitting on your shoulder!

Tunnel Taxi is an open invite for a dangerous cyclist stunt

When it comes to solving traffic problems, there must be some conceptual designer who believes that going through the traffic is the answer for the future.

For example, there is a plan by a Chinese builder to create a big bus that manages to somehow flow over traffic. The mass transit carries the people up above while cars pass underneath.

This is similar to the Tunnel Taxi, also designed for solving problems with traffic, but keeps the traffic on the same level. As you can see, the Tunnel Taxi is a regular taxi with a deliberate hole in it. The passengers sit on each side, and cyclists ride right through the middle.

Hopefully, the cyclist and the taxi will be traveling along at a speed that makes a stunt like this easy to accomplish, like a lane change. You will notice the “cyclists enter at own risk” sign, along with the other disclaimer of “NYC Not Liable for Injury or Death”. Legally speaking, the Tunnel Taxi is a nightmare, which is probably why you may never see it.

By the way, is there any reason why the doors of the Tunnel Taxi can’t open facing out, instead of opening in the path of a possible oncoming cyclist? That would remove at least some of the inherent risk factors.
