No Brainer USB Charger

Cords and cables. Aren't they great? Look next to your bed or under your desk. I think it has become standard protocol to have a rat's nest wherever you charge devices.

Leave it to the experts at Energizer to come up with a stylish way to charge.  The Energizer 5W Premium USB Wall Charger gives you a USB ports on a device with a fold out (US) plug. The advantage is the cable management however. This charger lets you easily wind your cord around the device for easy cable management. And it can handle a thicker cable. Oh and if that is not enough it even comes with a micro USB cable. While charging the light turns blue then turns off when done. And for just $14.62 on Amazon.com why not? You know you will get a quality product from Energizer.

Siri, Start my Car! – Viper SmartStart

Getting the car started certainly wasn’t anything I ever thought I’d like a gadget to help me with. I mean, you get in the car and turn the key, heck, my car doesn’t even need you to use the key, but now winter is coming, and it’s early in the morning and the car is freezing cold, you know, maybe having that baby warm up for a couple of minutes before I get there wouldn’t be so bad.

Check out the Viper’s SmartStart. SmartStart lets you start the car remotely, lock and unlock your doors and quite a few other handy operations, all via Bluetooth connection, allowing you to execute your commands almost instantly. The newest version of Viper SmartStart is now integrated with the iPhone’s Siri, so with just one word you can control your car.

You can put Siri to work by simply saying “SmartStart.” or, you can define a specific command that’s executed when the app gets launched, so even the older SmartStart versions finger taps are a thing of the past. Now we get to enjoy the convenience of fully voice-controlled access to our vehicles, including panic modes and we get to check the vehicles status (a real plus for those of us that always wonder if we actually locked the doors or not). I’m thinking there might be some real safety benefits to something like this as well.

In order to have the updated app work with Siri integration, users must have an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 and they also have to upgrade to iOS 6. For older iPhones that don’t support Siri, drivers can do the same thing, they just have to go back to tapping. Of course you need a complete System, they start at around 400 bucks, and there is a monthly service fee, but you need to check out all it can do at viper.com

Applehour – iAccessories CHEAP?

It’s one thing to spend a ton of money on your gadgets, but it’s yet another to have to turn around and spend another small fortune on all the accessories that go with it, and I have to say that it seems like all those cases and covers, no matter how bejeweled they may be, are just ridiculously overpriced.

Well, finally comes an online retailer that seems to make sense. Welcome Applehour.com to the scene and check out what they have to offer: Aluminum iPhone cases for under 2 bucks, leather iPad cases for under 10? Stand’s and USB’s for less than a buck. They even have a very familiar looking Horn Stand for your iPhone for $1.69! I’d like to say I don’t know how they do it, but to be honest, its easier to wonder how a little piece of plastic that snapped onto my phone was ever worth 25 bucks!

AppleHour.com is both a retailer and a wholesaler and they are based in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. They offer Chinese goods at the lowest prices possible, and they ship worldwide. They also operate an official eBay store. They have their own factory  that produces mainly Apple Accessories, PC and laptop items, and Applehour.com operates well over 3000 square feet of warehouse space offering direct shipping.

I’d really like it to be a good deal, I’d love to be able to get some cute stocking stuffers and office gifts and still look like a big spender. The caveat here is, I’ve never purchased anything from these guys, if you have, let us in on the quality. Wouldn’t be nice if it was the same plastic accessories for an acceptable price? or are we already accustomed to spending too much money on nothing?

Cordless Percussion & Shiatsu Duo Massager

Ahh, so you have had a particularly hard day at the office, and hoped that when you arrived home, there would be peace and quiet in your abode with a piping hot meal waiting on the table for you, only to discover that the missus sent you a text halfway that she will be home late tonight because of work, and that you will have to forage for your own meal. When you turn the key to your door open, a waft of offensive poop smell hits your nose squarely, with your labrador nowhere in sight (probably hiding from you). After you cleaned up its mess and plopped a TV dinner into the microwave, you plop into your La-Z-Boy chair, wishing that you had the $249.99 Cordless Percussion & Shiatsu Duo Massager with you.

The Cordless Percussion & Shiatsu Duo Massager is unique in a sense where it offers two types of massage in one, without the need to hunt for a power outlet as it has its very own power supply. There are two interchangeable massage nodes, where you can switch between Shiatsu and percussion massage techniques with a trio of massage programs to choose from – Pulse, Soothe and Energize. Of course, you can always use it plugged into an outlet if you do not want your massage session to be interrupted by running low on batteries. Neat, and since you can use it yourself, there is no reason for singles to avoid getting one of these puppies.

Air Mail Launcher

You know, sometimes working in an office with nothing but row after row of cubicles can get rather stifling. Back in the days where computers were not commonplace, and there was no such thing as a network (Intranet or Internet), sending one message to another person in the quickest way within the same office block would be through the phone’s extension line. The thing is, you will need to actually open your mouth and talk, and sometimes, some facts discussed over might be denied or misunderstood later on – with no black and white backing it up. This is why e-mail has proven to be the more convenient and formal form of communication, where folks are more careful with what they write because there is proof from the horse’s mouth afterwards.

Since all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, make sure your office does not consist of only working Jacks. Let your hair down sometimes as the department head, and you will see faces brighten up all across the floor. The $12.99 Air Mail Launcher is definitely one way of doing so, as it allows you to literally send your important message flying across the room without having to leave your chair. All you need to do is write a note on a sheet of the mail themed notes, crumple it and place it on the catapult, sending it flying towards the intended target. It will definitely take some practice to send it as close as possible to your target, although do bear in mind that its range is limited to just 15 feet.

LG Display introduces first 84-inch Ultra Definition LCD Display for Interactive Whiteboards

LG Display is back in the news again, and we are pleased to say that it has nothing to do with the negative side of things, not that I am implying LG Display did flirt with such downside news in the past. The company recently announced that they have kickstarted the mass production of the world's first 84-inch Ultra Definition (UD) LCD display which will see action in interactive whiteboards, and the kind of technological advancements introduced in this particular display will highlight the emerging trend integrating technology that has found its way into the classroom, with the objective of improving education for students worldwide.

Measuring 1.9m x 1.1m, LG Display's latest 84" UD panel for interactive whiteboards would certainly place it as one of the largest LCD products of its kind, making it suitable for classroom installation as it measures the same size as conventional whiteboards that currently see action in schools. Not only that, the display itself boasts of a maximum brightness of 350 nits, which would rate it 3.5 times brighter compared to current projector-type interactive whiteboards; while it carries a UD resolution of 3840 x 2160 (approximately 8.3 million pixels), which makes it 8 times the image quality of current HD projectors.

Since it comes with superior brightness and clarity, you can be sure that the new whiteboard display will do away with weaknesses that were inherent in current projector-type whiteboards. No longer will teachers have to assign someone to turn off the lights or close multiple window blinds during the daytime when one is showing off educational content. Not only that, the new display does away with occurrences of images being blocked by silhouettes that are definitely disruptive to the class, as this has been discovered to be a major complaint among current projector-type interactive whiteboards.

LG Display has not forgotten on how touch sensitive our society has become as well, throwing in touch functionality so that users are able to annotate directly on the screen, doing so without having to rely on a separate touch-enabled whiteboard screen – something that projector-types require. There is no word on pricing, but LG Display will release their interactive whiteboards in South Korea and China before the year is over, sending it to North America and Europe in the first half of 2013.

CarBot from Desk Pets help you de-stress at the office desk

When a company that calls itself Desk Pets rolls something new off their production lines, you know for sure that you are in for a rollicking good time. After all, for those of us who keep pets, we do so because they are one way for us to de-stress. Sure, our pets will need grooming and looking after, to be fed and have a steady stream of clean water at all times, not to mention comfortable bedding and their annual vaccine shots, but they too, bring joy to our lives. So when Desk Pets announced their CarBot, you know for sure that you are in for a treat. At least right there and then on your office desk, as the $29.99 CarBot is touted to be the world's first micro-robotic toy car.

CarBot would be a decent representation of the next generation of remote controlled toys, considering how it will rely on a mobile app on your compatible smartphone, as long as the smartphone you're using runs on iOS or Android operating systems. Yes sir, this is a smart move on Desk Pets' side as they can save more on manufacturing costs of the physical controller, where all it takes is someone to cobble together the controller program on both smartphone platforms.

Some of the more special CarBot features will include a battle mode that enables multiple players to battle via infrared sensors, a maze mode that lets players set up mazes for CarBot to navigate with military precision, a personality mode with sounds and lights; throwing in a mute button for noiseless play for when baby needs to sleep. Not only that, there is the more raw Drift 'n' Race mode which enables the CarBot to go crazy racing at full speed – all of two feet per second. A retractable USB charger has been implemented into body of the CarBot, where 40 minutes of charging would result in 15 minutes of play. Not to shabby, don't you think so?

Each CarBot comes in either red, blue, orange, or green colors, and they will operate on their own frequency so that you can always gather a group of friends together for some multi-player racing and battling.
