Tiny enough to fit into a pocket or purse, it takes just seconds for the BACtrack Digital Breathalyzer to obtain a reading. It will be powered by a solitary AAA battery which is good for 150 tests or so, taking around 5 seconds in order to respond to your breathing. I guess the designated driver would want to carry one of these as well, to show his or her drunk friends that they are absolutely in no condition to be behind the wheel. Orvillecopter is a flying dead cat Posted: 08 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT
Bart’s work on Orville has resulted it being transformed into the Orvillecopter, being part cat, part machine, and has tiny propellers attached to each of its four paws. Bart concedes that it is rather difficult to get Orville to “fly” properly in a steady manner, but that is an issue that he has promised to fix in due time. Hopefully Orville will be on the receiving end of more powerful engines and larger propellers in due time. [ Orvillecopter is a flying dead cat copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |
Razer Artemis is one concept controller that we would like to see realized Posted: 08 Jun 2012 05:30 AM PDT
Well, fast forward to today, and the modern gaming machines are all pretty adept at handling the different games, but with anticipation running high for the next installation of the popular Mechwarrior franchise, known as MechWarrior Online, it makes perfect sense to have a gaming peripheral that is at least equal to the task – and the Razer Artemis concept controller could just fit the bill nicely. Specially crafted to give gamers a competitive edge, it might just assist you in stomping and destroying everything in your path on your way to victory, taking no prisoners in the dog-eat-dog BattleTech universe. This BattleMech inspired Razer Artemis concept controller will clearly place you into the cockpits of your favorite Mech, helping you remain fully immersed in the game and focused on the dangers of the battlefield. You will get fully-programmable, fine-tuned controls, where the ergonomically adjustable Razer Artemis concept controller is said to makes piloting a Mech far more efficient and lethal in combat. Robert "RazerGuy" Krakoff, President of Razer USA, said, "The original MechWarrior PC game franchise was a formative milestone for my gaming growing up. When it was announced that a new MechWarrior Online was in the works, Razer was more than excited for the opportunity to collaborate with Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing. We're going to bring our own take to a concept controller that will pave the way for a new generation of robot destruction." No idea on whether this conceptual controller is going to be released to the masses, but I sure as heck hope that it will happen – soon. Joggobot spurs you on your runs Posted: 08 Jun 2012 05:00 AM PDT
Basically, the Joggobot will hover a few feet in front of the jogger to provide encouragement. Currently under development by a team at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, you are able to programme the helicopter via a smartphone app in order to control the kind of pace and height it will remain at. There is a camera located on the drone itself which will lock onto a blue and orange marker on the runner’s shirt, making sure that it sticks to the runner like a barnacle clinging on to the side of a ship. It would be a hoot to see what happens when the jogger – say a marathon runner, actually outruns the Joggobot as the Joggobot’s battery reserves are finally fully drained out. What do you think – would you want a modified AR.Drone to actually follow your trail, urging you on in a mechanical voice (I suppose it is also easy to replace that with a human female voice), or do you still want a human being to tag along, where you can also voice out complaints and grievances about life to him or her? This robot can’t hug you back, that’s for sure. [ Joggobot spurs you on your runs copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |
