The Flow Interactive Music System

Posted: 23 May 2010 02:00 PM PDT

The Flow Interactive Music System is officially my new favorite concept design.  It’s not because it has the best looks out there, although it does look pretty cool.  It’s actually because it’s made to help you keep your music to match your mood.  When you’re ready to party no one wants to hear a slow song, so this speaker system using your own movements will set it on party mode.  That’s not the only mood it has available though.

To change the mood is has accelerometers and gesture control sensors.  It has 3 different types of shakes to go along with the moods.  When you want to relax, just gently move it up and down.  For work tunes you shake it a little harder and then to party you give it a very vigorous shake.  The spheres themselves are what need the shaking.  Then to control the volume just turn the speaker upside down.

The Stretching Clock

Posted: 23 May 2010 01:00 PM PDT

Somehow I doubt there are a whole lot of people that don’t do that morning stretch.  It loosens up all of those muscles after a full night of a very small amount of movement.  Well this clock actually uses your morning stretch to shut off the alarm.  Which is a whole lot better than stretching while you have to listen to beeping or slamming on the clock and then stretching afterward.

There are arms inside of the pillow, in order to make the alarm stop you have to pull on those arms in the same way you’d usually stretch yourself out.  There is both a child and an adult version of this.  Concealed just inside the edge of the pillow is a small clock to show you the time.  That means you don’t need a nightstand with a way too bright clock and you can sleep in peace.  Unfortunately this is just a design so far, but perhaps Seung-hee Ryu’s design will get picked up by one of the many alarm clock obsessed manufacturers.

Pendant TeeLight

Posted: 23 May 2010 12:11 PM PDT

Most tea drinkers I know are pretty serious about their tea practices.  Most of them have serious habits that you should never suggest them deviating away from if you prefer to keep your head what it’s at.  If you know someone or are one of those tea obsessed drinkers you ought to check out this light for yourself or them.  It’d be a fun way to illuminate your tea practices.

The light is made out of a classic white cup and has a switch made to look like your average teabag.  In fact it’s a very furry pull switch.  It uses a 25 watt bulb to get you the light you desire.  Other than that it’s actually a pretty basic light that was designed by Jan Bernstein.  You can purchase the Pendant TeeLight for €65 or about $82, so it’s not the cheapest of lights.  It is cute though.
