Still or Fizzy?

Do you remember the first fridge you saw that had water & ice dispensers built in? Ooooh, aahhh. Yet we all probably had a grumpy Uncle who grumbled about how lazy people were getting because we couldn't go to the sink and get a glass of water. But face it. This fridge invention is now a staple and it pays off. Filtered, chilled water when you need it and ice on command. Very handy for sure.

Samsung wants to revolutionize what comes out of the fridge door. In conjunction with SodaStream, Samsung just announced the upcoming launch of a refrigerator containing an automatic sparkling water dispenser. If you are a still water person like me you won't care. But for those that prefer fizzy water this is your fridge. Simply choose your level of carbonation (3 available) and the built-in, 60L SodaStream CO2 cylinder (easily replaceable) produces fizzy water. Space taken up by the SodaStream unit is minimal – basically the space taken up by sparkling water in bottles. Adding this feature to the already popular 4 door model gives them a leg up on the competition. Other features include a FlexZone drawer whose temperature can freeze or cool depending on need and Samsung's TwinCooling to keep food fresh for a longer time. This 30.5 cubic foot sparkling water dispensing fridge will be available in the US  this April at $3899.  So stop buying carbonated water and start saving your pennies.

Rally Fighter is first crowdsourced car

We might be a wee bit slow on this, the Rally Fighter, but it is still a cool piece of news to cover nonetheless. Just what the heck is so special about the Rally Fighter that you see above? Apart from a rather interesting name to fall back upon, this could very well be the ride that makes history, considering how it is the first crowdsourced vehicle that is the dream of Local Motors. Local Motors comprises of a group of designers, engineers and fabricators, where all of them share ideas communally, and this is their first creation ever.

The Rally Fighter was designed by art student Sangho Kim, and underneath the hood, she is all muscle to belie what's is on the surface. Powered by a massive 6.2 liter V8 engine that churns out a whopping 430 ponies, you will also be able to throw in standards add-ons such as leather interiors, satellite navigation and power windows. Of course, the asking price is rather steep, as we are looking at $74,900, and since she is crowdsourced, you will need to ensure that the relevant funds are in place before the Rally Fighter is put together by the folks over at the Local Motors Phoenix Micro-Factory.

Show me the money! EU Watches help you tell the time in style

I know that with the advent of smartphones and tablets, not many people bother to buy a watch anymore to tell the time. Most of the time, the devices that we use, as well as computers that we sit in front of, will have a clock program built-in so that you know whether it is time to punch out and head home, or to take a break for lunch. Having said that, the luxury watch market is not affected by this phenomenon, but ordinary watches? It will take far more than just a pretty face to capture the attention of potential buyers. Watches need to offer more than just to tell the time, which is why the £24.99 Eu Watch does make plenty of sense, coming in a variety of colors such as black, blue, Funky Black/Red Face, Funky Blue/Red Face and purple.

The Eu Watches were inspired by the building blocks of our childhood (and adulthood too, some say), where this oddly euro-centrically named EU Watches will feature a beautiful, blocky design that arrives in different and bold color combinations. Apart from sporting all the digital bells and whistles that one might expect from a modern-day digital watch, they are also highly durable and will not cause your biceps to bulge when you wear it. This unisex timepiece will come with functions such as Day/Date, an alarm, a stopwatch and of course, the all important backlight.

You will find the Snooze iPhone dock to be a decent looker in your bedroom, coming across in a sleek and unique form factor that will definitely help you kiss goodbye to the 'morning fumbles', which are best described as that initial wakeup moment where you desperately try to locate the tiny snooze button on your phone; but being groggy and all, end up knocking your phone or clock off the nightstand.

Chris Johnson, Founder of BiteMyApple.co., said, "I'm always on the lookout for Kickstarter products that offer a solution to an everyday problem. The Snooze does just that. You can rest easy knowing that the extra five minutes of sleep won't cost you your expensive smartphone in the process."

Acase SuperLeggera Pro dual layer protective case

Purchasing a modern day smartphone these days will more often than not require another "compulsory" purchase, that is, a protective case of sorts to go along with your device. Having said that, this has proven to be a rather lucrative market for accessories manufacturers, but most of them tend to skew their products toward the more successful smartphone models like the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S3. Well, if you so happen to have picked up a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or the LG Google Nexus 4 in recent times and have yet to find a suitable protective case, perhaps it is high time you checked out the Acase SuperLeggera Pro dual layer protective case.

It sounds more like a Lamborghini model than an actual protective case, but the Acase SuperLeggera Pro will target your precious new smartphone, being specially designed for maximum durability. Combining the toughness of a polycarbonate plastic exterior with a flexible interior silicone molding that enables it to provide superior shock absorption, you can carry your smartphone around without looking as though you are being too careful with it. In order to ensure optimal appeal and long-lasting looks, the exterior hard shell case was specially crafted using customized scratch-resistant Japanese paint, resulting in extremely vivid colors that are pleasing to the eyes.

The SuperLeggera Pro for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and LG Google Nexus 4 were custom designed to tightly cradle the smartphone, all without having to add on additional bulk or weight, and boasts of cutouts which enables it to easily access all buttons and connections. Not only that, it has a special back coating all around the camera lens so that the "flashback" effect is no longer there when one snaps photos with it.

Tom Hsieh, sales and marketing manager of Acase, said, "The SuperLeggera Pro combines the innate protective qualities of two different materials into one stylish case capable of withstanding the perils of everyday use. Acase places special emphasis on details such as finish, fit and design; and believes that a superior product should also be affordable."

Prices start from $19.95 onwards for the SuperLeggera Pro for Samsung Galaxy Note 2, where it will come in black, blue, white, red, purple and pink colors. LG Nexus 4 owners will have to settle for just black or white colors.
