We have reported on the initial release of the FREEWAY back in March, and even though it has a clip for the car visor, it can also work on the desk as well. I found that it instantly recognized my Bluetooth-enabled smartphone within mere seconds of being powered on. Having the three speakers with virtual surround sound was also handy, not to mention it announcing the name of the incoming caller. The ability to have it answered by me saying “Answer” is another added bonus. Other features included the 14 hours of talk time and 40 days of standby. It is also good for A2DP streaming for playing of music, podcasts, and GPS directions. Another great feature is that it can link up with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. According to the official web site, the Jabra Freeway is exclusively available at Amazon.com. The price is about $124.94, which might seem like a high price to some, but it is a good price for a Bluetooth speaker of this quality in my opinion. In short, I recommend the product. Fortunately, Tsung-Hsiang Chang, an MIT Grad student and Google Inern, and Yang Li (also employed by Google) have created Deep Shot. Imagine doing something on your computer, like driving directions. Instead of going to the Navigation App on your smartphone and retyping everything again, you can just take a picture of the screen, and what was on the PC will be on your phone. The reverse of this also works as well. So if you are doing something on your mobile phone and you want to type it up on your computer, just Deep Shot it from the mobile to the PC. You can watch a video of it after the jump for more information. This would be good if you don’t have to go through the rigamarole of entering in your password every time you do a transfer. By the way, isn’t there a service known as Chrome to Phone that does the same thing? Leave a comment if you know the answer. Whatever this case, I would like to have Deep Shot on my computer and smartphone right now. Just to let you know, you aren’t going to see any holographic images of a galaxy far, far away from a long time ago. In fact, the 2-D projector is mounted on the top of his head, and not that nose-like projector on the side of his dome-shaped head. You won’t be hearing any princesses talking about how you are their only hope. The R2D2 Planetarium displays about 10,000 stars, but I am not certain how accurate the display truly is. In fact, it shows something that won’t appear on any star charts: the Death Star. Yes, it is the original, fully-formed one from the first movie. You will notice the lack of planets surrounding it. Not included in this R2 unit is the plans for how to destroy the deadly space station. However, if you take some fighters down into the trench in the middle, you should probably just shoot the exhaust port at the end. Yes, I don’t know why the Death Star designers left in an obvious Achilles heel in their plans, nor why there is a big trench leading right up to it. To me, that is a greater mystery than The Force itself. This particular astrodroid is available from Sega Toys in Japan for a price of about $85.
