This three story apartment building is the first of its type to be moved, anywhere. It was first installed in Turku on the southeast coast of Finland, but it can be moved with a crane. In fact, the owners plan on moving it to a new location somewhere else on the coast. In fact, you can watch a video here of it being moved on a large raft. The building can actually be transported on the road as well, and, as much as I would like to see that, I don’t have any footage of it. You’re probably wondering how this building could be moved so easily. Well, it isn’t easy, but it is all about its construction. It has patented steel panels that give the structure the same robustness at a fraction of its weight. This type of construction makes it earthquake-proof. I wonder if this is some new fad of construction for buildings. Personally, I think we need to make it so our buildings can be moved around. What you will see is pretty cool. The Paraswift is able to climb up a wall that looks like a long banner via suction. What really makes it cool is that when it reaches the top, it spreads its wings and jumps off, flying to the ground. It reminds me of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit 2. The Paraswift is a collaboration between the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and Disney Research. The purpose of the Paraswift is not just some quick entertainment, as a compact robot that can climb and fly can work to gather aerial footage for 3D modeling systems. The Paraswift was presented at the Conference on Climbing and Walking Robots and Support Technologies for Mobile Machines in Paris. The video has theme music that is quite dramatic, almost overly done, like a John Williams score. There is even a slow motion walking shot like in The Right Stuff or Armageddon. You will notice that the height that Paraswift jumps from is only a few stories. I would love to see him jump from the Empire State Building or the Eiffel Tower. Nike plans to release only 1,500 of these iconic pairs of shows, and they will go up for auction on eBay. So far, the ones they got now are going for $4,000 a pop. I don’t believe that Nike intends to put the MAG on the market. However, they have a commercial for it already that you can see after the jump. The commercial has Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future trilogy. As the ad states, there are not power laces, but just wait until 2015. At least they have the LED lights. The good news is that the net profits will go to the Michael J. Fox foundation to fight against Parkinson’s disease. The co-founder of Google Sergey Brin and wife Anne Wojcicki, co-founder of personal genetics company 23andMe, are planning on matching $50 million in funds that are raised by the Foundation anytime between now until the end of 2012. Michael J. Fox was even on David Letterman to talk about the shoe. Yeah, there is no stopping the publicity on this shoe as it was in the top ten Yahoo search today. Comprising of Pac-Man and Blinky, they seem to be best friends here, where you wind them up and leave them on a large flat surface, seeing just who will end up eating the other. Of course, something tells me that the speed will be constant, so most of the time it will end up as a stalemate. Bummer – and don’t you think that it would be cooler if it could be rmeote controlled? Each wind-up will stand proud at 2″ tall, with a 1.5″ diameter to go along. This is a lightweight slate computer that sports full PC capabilities, powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system. First unveiled at the recently concluded IFA 2011 show, the Series 7 Slate PC is said to deliver all the trappings of a full-sized laptop without sacrificing on form factor, making sure those who are always on the move will be able to take advantage of the processing muscle that has been crammed within to deliver maximum productivity no matter where one is. Just how light is the Samsung Series 7 Slate PC? Well, it will weigh no more than two pounds, measuring a mere 0.5″ thin, making it highly portable in its compact size. Don’t be fooled by the rather fragile exterior – the Slate packs an 11.6″ display, running on an Intel Core i5 processor (which is mid-range and should be more than enough for the average office user), and stashing away up to 128GB of storage space in the form of an SSD. Connectivity options include USB, Wi-Fi, WiMAX and HSPA. Since there is the word “Slate” in its name, obviously the 11.6″ display comprises of a highly responsive capacitive multi-touch screen, where you can also opt to flex those finger muscles of yours by writing naturally on the screen via an electromagnetic pen. At the front is a 2-megapixel camera for vain self-portraits and video conference calls, while the back lies a 3-megapixel camera to capture some impromptu moments. Is it me, or does the 7 hour battery life have to do with the name? I suppose not, making it a coincidence, but for those who are interested in the Samsung Series 7 Slate PC , you will have to fork out anywhere from $1,099 to $1,349, depending on the final hardware configuration as it arrives at the market this coming October 2nd. Well, the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G intends to merge the worlds of gaming and communications in a single device, where it will combine a PlayStation-certified gaming device with the capabilities and portability of an Android smartphone. Sounds tantalizing, does it not? Let us check out the hardware specifications after the jump to see if it can live up to expectations or not. For starters, the Xperia PLAY 4G will come with dedicated gaming controls right from the get go, which means you need not rush out and purchase those funny add-ons such as a D-pad that sticks to a touchscreen display using a suction cup. No sir, the slide-out controller comes with a D-pad, dual analog touch joysticks, a couple of shoulder buttons and the quartet of iconic PlayStation symbol keys which comprise of the circle, X, square and triangle. Apart from that, a 1GHz CPU and Adreno 205 graphics processor will keep things pumping from within, and you get a front-facing VGA camera in addition to a 5-megapixel rear camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, and seven Xperial PLAY optimized games right from the get go – Dungeon Defenders Second Wave, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Star Battalion, Madden NFL 11, The Sims 3, Tower Bloxx: My City, and Crash Bandicoot. Nice to know Sony Ericsson did not skimp on the operating system version this time around, where it runs on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread while sporting a 4″ display at 480 x 854 resolution alongside stereo speakers to get your game on. At $49.99 with a 2-year agreement, it does seem to be quite the bargain – hopefully it lives up to the gaming side of things though! I’m surprised that we haven’t covered this already, or if we even need to cover this. Nike has finally released the NIKE MAG, which are the shoes that Michael J. Fox wore in Back to the Future II. 
Just how fast can Pac-Man go in the game? He’s not too quick on his non-existent feet as he somehow glides across the surface of the maze, and the equally feet-less ghosts are far more agile, gliding along swiftly in order to catch that pill munching yellow pie chart. Not until Pac-Man gets a whiff of the super pill though, that is when the tables are turned, albeit momentarily. If you want to simulate your own chasing sequence in the Pac-Man universe, might I interest you in the 
“My dog ate my homework” used to be one of the more cliched excuses kids give their teachers whenever they mismanaged their time at home, but I suppose this excuse has not worn itself out just yet. If that is the case and you are a teacher, why not purchase the 
Samsung seems to be on a roll these days in the world of consumer electronics (actually, they’ve been banging it in for quite some time already come to think of it), what with their range of electronic items that elicit nothing but a “Wow!” from the masses, ranging from ever slimmer LED TVs, 3D TVs and top of the line Android-powered smartphones. Well, the notebook and tablet categories are not left alone either, and this time around we have the Samsung Series 7 Slate PC to drool over.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, or so the saying goes. If that is the case, then it is high time someone purchased the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY 4G for Jack, don’t you think so? This smartphone will arrive over at Ma Bell’s network, where it intends to blur the line between handheld gaming consoles and smartphones.
