Wish Pearl – Harvest a Real Pearl, without Getting Wet!

I always held true to the old adage that tells us it’s the thought that counts, but that being said, I’ve had a lot of great thoughts… but they’re not at all better than getting some extravagant present. However, when I cant afford extravagance I like to go for something so unique or bizarre that the recipient exclaims “where did you find that!?” Hence my family has some pretty weird stuff.

My daughter must have my genes because for my birthday I got a Wish Pearl, sounds simple enough, if it werent for the fact that you make your own pearl necklace from a pearl you harvest yourself, out of a mullousk-in-a-can. Yes its true, with no guarantees as to pearl color or size, you simply make a wish, then dig your pearl from the long dead (however well preserved in alcohol) oyster ,and the can warns you not to eat the oyster or drink the liquid it comes in. Thank goodness for that, as I had my cocktail sauce at the ready.

After following the instructions I was able to retrieve my pearl from its animal home and learn what meaning its color revealed by the information on the box. Also included in the kit is a beautiful 18K white Gold tone plated Flower shape “cage” to house your pearl with an 18k white gold tone plated necklace thats about 18″ long. Simply pop in your newly harvested pearl and voila! a beautiful necklace.

So I love my little pearl necklace and I love that my daughter took the time to find something fun and interesting to get me, and its going to last a whole lot longer, and cause a lot less pain than the 5 pound box of chocolates she got me last year! There are several different kits to choose from, all for under 20 bucks at amazon.com

iPhone Controlled Musical Mercedes SLS

Remember how Pierce Brosnan, in his role as 007 in Tomorrow Never Dies, where he drove a BMW 750iL with a Sony Ericsson handset? Well, you might not be as suave and debonair as the dashing super spy, but you too, can live out your fantasy of driving your dream car with a phone, too. I am referring to the $129.95 iPhone Controlled Musical Mercedes SLS here, but there is one major difference between your Mercedes SLS compared to Bond's BMW 750iL. The latter's ride is the real deal, and can actually ferry you (and three other lovely ladies around), while the iPhone Controlled Musical Mercedes SLS is pretty much a toy. Still, I guess this is where you exercise the power of your imagination to get the job done.

The iPhone Controlled Musical Mercedes SLS will also enable a smartphone’s personal soundtrack to accompany luxury grand tours, where a free app enables you to send the Mercedes SLS all over the floor (within range, that is) as music continues to play via the iPhone. Whenever the tiny ride stops, its gull wing doors will pop open and music will then be streamed to the car’s onboard speakers, how cool is that? The Mercedes SLS will also be able to move and flash its lights in tempo with the music in order to deliver a fully synchronized joyride. Motion-sensing accelerometers in the iPhone would enable one to accelerate forward or backward, while turning the car is as simple as tilting and panning your smartphone. Other interactive capabilities include the ability to illuminate the car’s turn signals, brake lights, headlamps, and interior light.

Dr Who Tardis USB 4 Port Hub

Are all USB hubs created equal? The correct answer would be, "No", and a resounding one at that, too. After all, hardcore Dr Who fans might even start to fantasize that the £22.95 Dr Who Tardis USB 4 Port Hub which they see here is able to send them into a time warp, but even if to their great disappointment that it does not, at least you have a quartet of USB ports available for you to plug in a plethora of other devices into your PC or Mac, as and when required.

If you do not want to start off the work week on a dull note, then the Dr Who Tardis USB 4 Port Hub is your cup of tea (or coffee), as each time you plug it in, the lantern at the top will flash, alongside the classic time travelling sound effects. Needless to say, just in case the rest of your colleagues get jealous of the latest toy at the office, you can always turn off the special sound effect to annoy them less. Definitely more than capable of brightening up any work space for sure.

Logitech makes a splash at League of Legends Season Three Championship Series

Swiss peripherals manufacturer Logitech is not a company that shies away from the spotlight. In fact, they have just announced that they will be, yet again, the official sponsor of the League of Legends Season Three Championship Series by offering their range of mice and keyboards for all of those involved. According to Dustin Beck, VP of esports for Riot Games, "Our fans love Logitech's gaming accessories, and we're excited to have them back as a sponsor this year. Plus, they have great rapport with the gaming community, which makes our partnership with them a natural fit." Sounds like a partnership worth continuing, right?

Just what does this sponsorship mean to gamers, other than supporting exciting and fun eSports entertainment such as League of Legends? Logitech has moved beyond slapping on their company logo on a banner that advertises the event, as the team there have been working closely with Riot over the past few months in order to introduce additional capabilities to the Logitech G range, and summoners out there will be able to appreciate the amount of work and effort that went in. In fact, Logitech is more than pleased to announce a range of hardware features which will now be supported directly in the League of Legends client.

These new features will include the capability of all G-keys (no exceptions here) in Logitech mice, keyboards and headsets being selectable as bindable keys directly in the in-game interface. Not only that, you also have multi-color LED lighting in the new Logitech G510s and G19s keyboards that are capable of switching to indicate the color of your team, and even when you are in colorblind mode, no exceptions will be made. The Logitech G510s and G19s GamePanel LCD will also be able to show off constantly updated statistics that are normally found in the character subscreen, and these will include cool-down reduction, or stats that were not previously available, such as gold per minute. Are you stoked by what is made available?
