Powertrekk lets you get mobile power from ordinary water

I think that all of us have those mobile battery chargers for our cellular phone, in case we need that extra bit of juice. The problem is you have to remember to charge such devices, or you will be really screwed when you need them.

What if you had a battery that is powered on nothing but ordinary water? It is now named the Powertrekk, and it uses fuel-cell technology to convert hydrogen gas into electricity.

The secret is a thing inside the Powertrekk known as the Powertrekk Puck which holds the water and carries out the fuel based charge.

The Powertrekk is designed for USB powered devices, and you can use your USB charger on your mobile device for aiding in the charge.

I am sure that you are seeing the benefits of the PowerTrekk. I wonder if this company should use the slogan: “the last mobile charger that you will ever need to buy”.

The Powertrekk might be the answer to that age-old question for what you would have if you lived on a deserted island. Considering that I don’t need any sun or outlet, it has my vote. All I would need is a teaspoon of the water that surrounds the island. I’m not certain if I would have any cellular phone reception, but I would be entertained by a plethora of pre-loaded apps.

Of course, you will pay for this type of power, to the tune of $300. I still think that it is a good deal.

It is truly amazing that companies can stay afloat with just accessories alone. We have already reported on the quality ones from TYLT, and now it is time for iWalk.

The company has about twelve patented docking backup battery models. The batteries range in power from 800 mAh to 15,000 mAh.

Sure, a lot of companies have products like these, but this one has some that are quite unique. For example, they have the world’s first dual USB car charger with power switch. They also have the world’s smallest 800 mAh rechargeable docking backup iPhone/iPod battery, where sleek power switch batteries are merged seamlessly with a color-customizable hard case. The company also makes the first iPod/iPhone/iPad charging cable with a built-in indicator light.

Other products include the Sound Angle, a wireless Bluetooth speaker for smart devices that looks triangular in its shape.

It really seems like these mobile accessories companies really go out their way to make certain that you have the right peripheral that matches your outfit. It is hard to believe that we are at this level now in mobile technology.

The company iWalk has a lot a lot to offer users, and I would imagine that they intend to make quite a splash this year. I highly recommend going to their catalog here and see if there is anything that you need for your smartphone or iDevice. Of course, the prices range, but they are relatively affordable.

Optrix HD for the iPhone/iPod Touch

Time for another tech trend that I have noticed the last time I reported on the Miveu.

The trend is turning the iPhone into an action camera, like the GoPro or other similar models. This one by Optrix is designed to be a durable frame for the iPhone/iPod Touch into a camera, and clip to a bike so you have access to the iPhone itself.

Because of the Optrix, you will be able to shoot with the iPhone 4S’s full 1080p HD. Thanks to the new optics that can allow more light and video stabilization, your videos will be less shaky than most “extreme” videos. By the way, the case is water resistant so you can take some water, snow, or wherever you are filming.

The Optrix HD has a protective touchscreen membrane, which is only 0.5 mm thick and allows you to take control of your applications. The big bonus is that you can actually see what you are filming, unlike other cameras where you see an indicator light and edit out the bad footage later.

The Optrix is a POV camera that allows the user to do playback, edit, and share videos directly from the site. The company claims that they are the only one that can do that, and they also claim that their new application can make the Optrix HD “the most powerful POV device on the market”.

You should be able to purchase the Optrix from its official site for about $89.99. I think that is a good price for iPhone protection of this type.

FLEX for iPad 2 adds even more convenience

The iPad 2 is Apple’s most successful tablet to date (granted, it has only one predecessor, which is the original iPad), and it does look as though the trend of Apple’s tablet dominating the world market where tablets are concerned will continue uninterrupted for years to come, although competitors such as Samsung have inched closer and closer with their Android-powered offerings, not to mention LG having announced their LG Optimus Pad LTE recently. Well, this means there is a huge third party accessory market for the iPad 2, but just which out of the many you see are actually useful and practical?

Of course, there is also the matter of more than 140,00 apps being available for the iPad 2, greatly expanding the usage of the tablet in different ways and environments. UZBL might have an idea for the future – by developing a kit which enables you to accessorize the iPad 2, making it suitable for use in any setting. Known as the “FLEX for iPad 2″, this particular FLEX kit will comprise a snap-on handstrap that lets you hold on to your iPad 2 comfortably, a shoulder strap to tote it around, and a snap-on rotating pivot with a 0.25″ tripod thread which can be screwed onto any camera mount or accessory.

The FLEX will play nice with a wide range of accessories, enabling the iPad 2 user to stick, clamp, wrap, hang, or prop the iPad 2 almost just about any place you can imagine. Not only that, it is accompanied by a nicely styled silicone skin which will add the finishing touch and offers protection for the tablet should it be dropped. First of all, the FLEX kit has integrated ribs cells that absorbs shocks in the event of a knock or fall, with the protective skin featuring “Air Cells” to deliver a cushioned landing from drops of up to 6 feet in height. A velcro hand strap also ensures even wet palms will not let the iPad 2 slip by accident.

The FLEX frame and pivot are made from a hard polycarbonate plastic, and right now, you can place a pre-order at Kickstarter, and benefit from a big discount to the proposed retail price of $59. Right now, the FLEX frame has $1,760 in its kitty, which is still well off the $12,000 goal – good thing there are still 30 days to go.

Goldfish are extremely fragile creatures, and they have been bred in a way where efficiency is not a word you would use to describe them, but rather, most goldfish are clumsy and prone to diseases if not cared for properly. Cosmetic fish, as I would like to call them. Some have even said that while a goldfish bowl is nice to look at to us humans, it is not the best place to keep goldfish due to its size and lack of oxygen.
