The Leica V-Lux 30 is one prime example – while no pricing is attached to it, we don’t see it going cheaper than its $600 plus predecessor. On to the hardware specifications then! The new V-Lux 30 will sport a Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens that boasts of an extended range of focal lengths and a new LCD touch screen display which is touted to deliver fast and simple handling. More to come in the extended post, so make that jump. There is a wide range of automatic features and manual setting options available on the Leica V-Lux 30, truly making this a compact and universal camera for the entire family. Not only that, by including GPS function, you will be able to have a better idea of where and when you’ve been to a certain place when you look back on your gigabytes and gigabytes of photo archives down the years. Needless to say, it is possible that GPS tagging won’t work in China and neighboring regions, as satellite signal reception might be impossible so be forewarned. Apart from that, the V-Lux 30 will also feature video recording in 1080i-AVCHD Full HD resolution, making it perfect to replace that ageing digital video camcorder of yours – and this only means you have one less gizmo to tote around with you on your travels. With its new 3″ LCD touch screen display, you are able to access many of the camera’s features with the touch of a fingertip. GroClock sleep trainer helps kid hit the sack on time Posted: 26 May 2011 05:30 AM PDT Getting your kids to establish a healthy sleeping pattern can be quite challenging in this day and age, especially with so many distractions around to keep them awake such as modern toys, the iPod, handheld consoles and TV programs. You as an adult too might play a role here in influencing your child to sleep late because you have a similar pattern, but enter the GroClock to help you train your kids when it comes to sleeping. Once you have made sure that there are no more monsters hiding around in the closet or under the bed, set the GroClock and let it work its magic. All you need to do is let your child know that when the sun shines on the GroClock, that is the time he/she is supposed to get up. And when they are about to go to bed and knock off, that is when the stars come out to play. Sort of like a Pavlovian response, don’t you think so? Your $44.99 investment doesn’t end there when they grow up though, as they can always switch on the digital clock option when that happens, giving them a better idea by connecting the time with the appearances of the stars and sun. Neat! Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. [ GroClock sleep trainer helps kid hit the sack on time copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] Related Posts: |
Posted: 26 May 2011 05:00 AM PDT The TDK Sound Cube brings new meaning to “surround sound”, that’s for sure. It should be called “surrounded sound” instead, since the cube that you see on the right should find a happy audience regardless of where they are seated – as long as the crowd size is right, of course. Right now up for pre-order, the £299.99 TDK Sound Cube measures just 25.5cm³, making it the smallest in its range, but it is no pushover where performance levels are concerned. Each of the Cube’s vertical sides will boast of its own speaker (two of them are active while the other two are passive), delivering 360° of party-starting audio, not to mention the nice touch of a sturdy leather handle on top that makes toting it around fun and comfortable. It can be powered by mains or a dozen D batteries (the latter is certainly going to fill up those landfills, fast!), so make sure you use rechargeables if you’re gunning for the latter. At the back lies a quartet of separate sound ports, letting you plug in a variety of devices such as a portable media player or an electric guitar. Perfect for the day out with the rest of your family, listening to your favorite tunes all round in 20 watts RMS glory. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews.
