Game On. Anywhere.

Remember your first game system? Atari was mine. On my one hour bus ride home after school the excitement would build. As soon as I walked in the door I b-lined for the TV. Aaaaah. It was a treat to be able to play games at home. But these days it is a treat to play games anywhere. I'm beginning to believe people log more game time on their phones than in their homes some days.

Since gaming has gone so mobile PowerA – builders of video game accessories – devised a full featured way to play on your phone.  The MOGA Mobile Gaming System, $49.99 at Amazon, puts a natural feeling Bluetooth controller in your hands. Built for Android 2.3+ phones, MOGA can easily hold the largest phone on the market by just snapping it in. Controls include dual analog sticks, 4 action buttons, shoulder triggers and start/select. Rubberized grips make it easy to hold and you will get 18 hours of play with 2 AAA batteries. PowerA also realized the opportunity and forged relationships with most major game makers to make the mobile experience more like the home experience.  Over 40 games are currently “MOGA enhanced” to give more precision and control. All games are accessible via their Pivot app, available for free at Google Play. With innovations like MOGA it appears that the mobile gaming experience will continue to evolve. Who knows, maybe someday the experience will rival home gaming.

Mouse and Presenter in Your Palm

Have you used a presenter tool before? You know, you stand up in front of the group to pitch your proposal or give your explanation. PowerPoint is queued up and someone hands you that remote looking thing. Your finger grazes the top and BAM! You are suddenly at the last page of your presentation. Then you have to walk to the computer, exit out of presenter mode, start it again. Sort of gets you out of the mood to give your pitch.

Logitech has a perfect portable solution to combine the needs of mousing with presenting. The Logitech Cube, $69.99 at Amazon.com, combines style with functionality. Designed as a travel mouse, it is easy to throw in the computer bag. Built into the button free mouse are left and right clicks plus scroll capability. No more 'click click click' of the wheel. Scrolling becomes more like smartphone swiping. Flip the device over to advance slides in presenter mode. The Cube has a power switch built in and uses Logitech's Unifying® receiver meaning it is small in the USB port and can be synced with other compatible devices. Heads up that there is no laser pointer on the unit though. So it may not be exactly what you need for presenting. But from a portability perspective and with Logitech's reputation in accessories rest assured you will get a product that performs.

Brookstone introduces Big Blue Media Tower

No, the Big Blue Media Tower is not some sort of icon from IBM, but rather, it is a new device from Brookstone. Just what kind of role does the Big Blue Media Tower fulfill? For starters, it is an all-in-one music and TV sound system, and just in case you figured out that you have seen it somewhere before in the past, the Big Blue Media Tower is actually the third addition to the growing number of Big Blue Audio Bluetooth enabled speakers which were specially designed and developed by the Brookstone Design Center.

If one were to take a closer look at the Big Blue Media Tower, this puppy is actually a 38-inch high, sleek vertical sound-bar which can be positioned just about anywhere around the room, where it is capable of delivering a full, three-dimensional concert hall sound. Not only that, audio is able to be wirelessly thanks to the wonders of Bluetooth connectivity, meaning most of the decent smartphone, tablet or computing devices these days should be able to work with it just fine.

Just in case you still have some Flintstones era devices that do not come with Bluetooth connectivity, those can still be hooked up for an upgraded sound system thanks to the optical decoding jack as well as included six-foot optical cable. Apart from that, the Big Blue Media Tower will also offer RCA inputs as well as Aux out connections for additional devices.

Brookstone's Big Blue Media Tower is also touted to be the most powerful Big Blue Audio speaker to date, where it features built-in, full range, 20 watt stereo speakers within that are capable of projecting audio at multiple offset angles in order to fill every corner of the room with sound. The 30-watt powered subwoofer has been ported for deep omnidirectional bass as well.

You can pick up the Big Blue Media Tower from December 5th onward at Brookstone stores for $399.99 a pop if you are interested.

HTC Droid DNA headed for Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless just announced that they will be offering the HTC Droid DNA, which is touted to be the highest resolution Android-powered smartphone to date. What is that you said about the iPhone's vaunted Retina Display? It is no match for the HTC Droid DNA that sports a higher pixel density, and also a far larger display at 5" with Full HD resolution support. Needless to say, the HTC Droid DNA is the flagship device of HTC, and it looks set to make its mark this holiday season among smartphone buyers.

HTC used to be on the cutting edge of smartphone offerings with their Desire range, but time has seen them lose out on other more competitive companies, with Samsung leading the pack where top of the line Android-powered devices are concerned. Well, the HTC Droid DNA will certainly drag the Taiwanese company back into contention, and hopefully it will be able to win back confidence among smartphone users who are looking to upgrade their devices later this year.

Verizon Wireless Chief Marketing Officer Tami Erwin said, “We think it’s poised to be a real blockbuster for the holidays and certainly into 2013.” Just how much will Verizon Wireless price the HTC Droid DNA? Well, it looks priced to move at $199 a pop, where you will need to sign up for a two-year contract of course. The HTC Droid DNA will go up on sale this coming November 21st, which is one day before Thanksgiving, marking the unofficial start of the shopping season.

As a refresher, the device itself will come with a generous 5" display as well as boast high-resolution image quality for photographs and video. Boasting a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch, it outdoes Apple's iPhone 5 by far and large (which has a pixel density of 326ppi) and the Samsung Galaxy S3 at 306ppi.

Doctor Who Vortex Manipulator

Fans of the Doctor Who series will definitely be familiar with Captain Jack’s favorite tool, where the $29.99 Doctor Who Vortex Manipulator has now been made available to the masses without breaking the bank – and it sure as heck looks like the real deal, considering how it comes in an incredibly detailed design, while looking like aged leather to boot. Sporting a 9.5″ strap, that particular strap is replaceable assuming you have big wrists like the Incredible Hulk, so do not fret if it happens to snap while in use.

Assuming you are going to dress up as Captain Jack in a cosplay ensemble during an upcoming fancy dress party this coming holiday season, you would definitely not be able to leave home without the Doctor Who Vortex Manipulator in tow. It will light up whenever you press the control buttons, and rest assured, it looks awesome on your wrist. This replica sports a blue LED that lights up whenever you press the buttons, and as an added bonus, there is also a mini sonic screwdriver thrown in for good measure.

Motorheadphones helps you rock your ears out

Having a decent pair of headphones or earphones are useful, especially when you do have quite the delectable collection of digital audio files that are begging to be listened to. Firebox has made available a couple of Motorheadphones to rock your ears out – where you can choose from the £79.99 Bomber and the £99.99 Iron Fist. We ourselves have seen a bunch of rapper-sponsored Hip Hop headphones to date, so it makes perfect sense to bring balance to the scene with Rock taking up some sense of ownership, and which better candidate to make this particular stand for sweaty other than the mighty Motörhead

Merging hard wearing, 'heavy-metal' (in reality, it is actually very lightweight) construction alongside superior, velvet-coated comfort; either pair of headphones that you purchase will boast of a stripped back black design that feature the Heavy Metal heroes' emblem on both cans. The Bomber is said to be ideal for wearing out and about, where it comes with an in-line mic and volume controls, while the Iron Fist sports a 3.5mm jack (6.3mm jack included), flexible ear cups, and both of them are officially endorsed by the band.
