Don’t lie, you know you’d love to take the DTV Shredder for just a little spin. I remember having a scooter that had a similar shape, but somehow this Shredder just completely obliterates any minor qualities mine may have featured. I’m sure this has some very practical military uses, but I can’t say that any of the uses that are rolling through my brain would be considered practical.

The DTV Shredder is powered by an on-board 15 horsepower motor and can transport up to 1,200 pounds of equipment. It’s not the fastest thing out there, but it’ll get you where you’re headed at a max speed of 30 mph. The design itself doesn’t come without benefits, the big one being that it’s capable of handling 40 degree slopes. It’s made for reconnaissance, rescue/recovery, mobile surveillance and medical evacuation operations. Like I said, there are practical uses for this big boy toy.

Doctor Who Spinning Tardis

There is no shortage of sellers offering their own Doctor Who Tardis, but this one is even better. Instead of just sitting out a little blue box to collect dust, this one is capable of moving around a little. Plus, the way it work will give you something to fidget with while you’re trying to think over some very complex issue at work.

This Tardis levitates in mid-air by using some handy little magnets. Then when you’d like it to spin around all you have to do is give it a gentle push. You’ll get to see it spin around as if it were all on its own in some mysterious vortex. This runs on 6 AA batteries and for once I’m a little disappointed that this isn’t a USB gadget. Being best on your desk, you’d think it use the power already nearby. You can purchase this for $44.95 through the Neatoshop.

It used to be that women carried cute little brag books in their purses that were packed full of wallet sized photographs of mostly children. Of course there were usually some wedding and senior pictures tossed in the mix. Well now that times have changed, you can carry a whole lot more pictures without weighing you down any more than a tiny photo album would.

This cute little keychain features a 1.5 inch color display that’ll show off up to 107 of your favorite pictures. It’s of course lightweight and is even built to be durable, which is good considering a lot of these will get jammed into purses. Unfortunately they don’t say the exact amount of internal memory, but they do mention that this features a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery. You can purchase one $7.04 a piece if you pick up two of them through Chinavasion.

Love those mesmerizing lava lamps? You won’t go wrong with the Volquarium then, as this merges the idea of a lava lamp with that of a model volcano. After all, volcanoes are supposed to erupt, and that’s exactly what this unique desktop display does, generating a mesmerizing cyclical display which evokes the rumblings of a subaquatic volcanic eruption. The tank is filled up to the brim with 26 3/4 oz. of water, where it results in a diorama of an undersea vent with three phosphorescent corals and the ocean floor. An unseen pump located right under the volcano will silently draw in dozens of 1/8″-diameter translucent red and clear plastic pellets, followed by ejecting them from the cone to simulate a slow, majestic eruption. The pellets themselves are illuminated via red, blue, and green LEDs which will flash randomly to look as though the lava glows. The Volquarium will retail for $39.95 a pop, making it more than a half decent living room addition.

Ittiam has new Android-powered video phone

We don’t suppose that you have heard of the name Ittiam before. Fret not, neither have we. This is a spanking new Android-powered video phone that will feature HD playback capability in the H.264 VGA format. This full frame rate video phone will feature 720p media playback with TI’s OMAP3530 processor running the show from within. What’s the whole point of this offering from Ittiam? Well, it is meant to facilitate designs where portability and low power are of prime importance. Not only that, this software solution will also encapsulate Ittiam’s proven technologies in audio video synchronization, echo cancellation, communication grade latency, interoperability and quality of service over public networks.

Ittiam intends to take full advantage of the OMAP3530 device architecture in order to handle uniquely architected high definition (HD) codecs from the company itself, thanks to their multi-core design. These optimized codecs will be able to assist ODMs in delivering high-quality HD playback and recording capability on OMAP3530 processor-based Android devices. Not only that, the media system’s extensions to the underlying Android framework will also enable enable a wide range of standard Android applications to run on the media-rich low-power OMAP3530 processor.

This video phone system is a snap to integrate video communication into other consumer-oriented, Android-based products, where among them would include tablets, desktop video phones, smartphones, Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), and digital photo frames among others. The software itself was specially designed to deliver a rich, HD video entertainment experience, not to mention high-quality life-like video communication. How much will it cost? Oregon Scientific products have been around for a while, offering you the temperature, weather and the time. Well this Ferrari version is very much the same, it just has a couple more benefits to make this a slightly more high end version of the usual Oregon Scientific products.

The clock itself projects the time onto any surface of your choosing. It also has the usual weather forecast as well as both indoor and outdoor temperatures. You can even get the official time by synchronizing the clock and calendar to the official U.S. atomic clock through the radio frequency broadcast.
