Barbuzzo Spin the Shot – Drink! Drink! Drink!

Every New Year comes and goes with me making the same resolution. I am going to drink more and eat less. I dont know why I never seem to get around to it. I keep hearing about the benefits of a little red wine. Although, to be honest, it’s not really the benefits that I’m looking for. I just want to start having a little more fun. Perhaps not quite as much fun as I had in college, but fun nonetheless!

Well nothing brings back those “fun” college days like good old fashioned drinking games, who can forget whiling away the weekends (while you should have been studying for your psych exam) sitting around a folding table with 16 of your closest friends killing brain cells by the hundreds? Well now Barbuzzo brings us Spin the Shot, similar to everyones favorite party game, Spin the Bottle (without the risk of viral infection), Spin the Shot lets you pour a shot of your beverage of choice and, and with a single spin, choose the person who will have to drink it.

Evidently, the spinner is solidly constructed with enclosed ball bearings helping to ensure a smooth and steady spin, so theres no fear of spilling your precious “beverage du jour” and the long controlled spin adds to the fun and excitement of waiting to see who the next victim will be. I think we can come up with quite a few alternative methods of play, including some that involve kissing, or maybe even a single player game where you run around the table and try to anticipate where the arrow may land. I don’t suggest you tell anyone that you play drinking games alone… I’m just saying. So bring the party home, with the Barbuzzo Spin the Shot drinking game. Available from Amazon.com for under 14 bucks!

Big Button Phone

Sure, growing old gracefully has its fair share of benefits, where among them include half price discounts when it comes to the little things in life such as dinner at a restaurant in certain places, or perhaps even when you are flying. Well, the price to pay for some might be failing health, as the internal organs start to wind down, while other senses of the body such as hearing and sight begin to fail, too. Hence, it is not surprising to see seniors walk around with hearing aids as well as a pair of glasses, and if you think that your ocular abilities are starting to be shaky, perhaps it is time to make sure the stuff around your home, too, will be able to keep up with your, er, degeneration, for the lack of a better word.

Since the telephone is one of the more useful tools at home, I guess you cannot really go wrong with the $49.95 Big Button Phone, where it works just as it is named – carrying extremely large buttons on the phone itself. The numbers on these buttons will also be raised for a Braille effect as well as easy dialing. There are three programmable “one-push” buttons that help you summon fire, police or medical help, in addition to other features including a speakerphone, 13-number memory, last number redial, visual ringer indicator, and volume controls for both the ringer (up to 90dB) and the handset. Heck, it will play nice with your hearing aid, assuming you wear one, and works even during power outages thanks to its power reserves.

Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman

How many of you out there actually no longer use a dedicated video camera to record all those precious moments in your family, such as weddings, birthdays and graduations? Well, I suppose the ever increasing quality of the camera sensor in smartphones have a great deal to do with the seeming demise of such dedicated devices, and for those who happen to be in the iPhone camp, you might be interested to check out this $199.95 Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman.

Basically, the Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman would function as an iPhone mount that is capable of panning and tilting automatically while tracking the movement of your subject, ensuring that the subject in motion is always within shooting range for that added touch of professionalism in your family videos. A key fob-sized wireless transmitter is portable enough to be held or clipped to clothing, while the iPhone mount automatically pans 360° and tilts up to 30°, all from up to 33 feet away, now how about that? It will be able to carry the iPhone in both landscape or portrait orientations, depending on how you want your video to look like. A couple of AA batteries will offer enough juice to power the tracking mount for up to four hours, while another two AAA batteries are required to keep the transmitter going for up to 10 hours.

Ematic Genesis Prime unveiled

When it comes to tablets, you know that this particular market is divided into two major segments – one of them would be those who side with all things Apple, and hence, they would most probably settle for nothing less than an iPad (mini or otherwise), while the other segment of the population would prefer Android-powered tablets, as that would offer them a whole lot more options and choices. After all, when was the last time you checked out the range of Android-powered tablets in the market? Simply astounding, I tell you, with just about one for every single kind of budget. Well, here we are with the Ematic Genesis Prime that should raise its fair share of eyebrows, considering the kind of hardware specifications that it packs without costing you more than a Benjamin.

Yes sir, the Ematic Genesis Prime will cost you a mere $79.99 a pop, and at that price point, just what will you get in return? Let's see, first of all, there is the 1.1GHz processor which should be able to get all your average tablet performance needs filled up without missing a beat, where it will be accompanied by 4GB of internal memory, accosted by 5GB of included cloud storage, while its 7" multi-touch display should be decent enough for everyday use, never mind that it does not support Full HD capability. Connectivity issues include Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack just in case you want to go silent all around with a pair of good headphones to accompany the movie you're watching.

Now only that, Since it runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, you will be able to take advantage of Google Play as well as Google Now, where integrated Google services such as Chrome, Gmail, Maps, and YouTube will be a seamless part of the entire experience. Sounds like the Ematic Genesis Prime has a good thing going for it, and I predict it could very well be the first tablet that folks might look forward to, whether as an adult or as a child.

Wren Sound Systems announces Wren V5PF

Wren Sound Systems might not be too familiar a name with the average man on the street, but this does not mean that the company does not have anything special up its sleeves, especially for folks who want something that will deliver wireless audio throughout the room or hall, without having to deal with pesky cables that seem to take on an entire life of their own whenever you are not around, getting wrapped up in a tangled mess, as colonies of dust bunnies appear out of nowhere. No sir, wireless is the way to go, and Wren Sound Systems has just the tonic for you with the Wren V5PF.

The Wren V5PF is a wireless audio system which features DTS Play-Fi, which basically allows all Android-powered devices to be able to stream music wirelessly from smartphones as well as tablets. The Wren V5PF was specially designed by a team of audio industry veterans led by former Harman International consumer audio division president Mike Giffin, where it will merge cutting-edge technology, old school materials and build quality, in addition to classic audio know-how, of course. The result? A wireless speaker which will harness the latest audio and Wi-Fi technology, letting your ears enjoy detailed, room-filling sound, a basically dummy-proof user experience, all crammed into a refined, elegant design.

To make sure that the Wren V5PF will play nice with just about any and every kind of interior decoration, it will come in either a Real Bamboo or Rosewood Cabinet design. Basically, you would not be able to go wrong with either, as they exude a soothing look that ought to help you melt the day's stress away. The cabinet of the Wren V5PF has been internally braced to provide a chassis free from resonance and coloration, while a reinforced, acoustically transparent grille frame will offer stiffness sans diffraction, and a 4mm low durometer silicone pad covers the base, which helps it do away with surface coupling buzz and sound coloration. The asking price for the Wren V5PF? $399 a pop, which ain't too shabby, really.
