CyberpowerPC’s latest desktop is rip roaring

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 11:00 AM PDT

Are you currently in the market for a new gaming rig, so much so that you are too lazy to build one up from scratch, and thankfully, have the necessary funds to purchase a build to order machine which reeks of pure processing power? You are in luck then, with CyberpowerPC’s most recent desktop PC series debuting with Intel’s latest Z77 “Panther Point” Express Chipset that will feature lucid MVP hyperformance, advanced overclocking, and multi-display support for a more immersive gaming experience.

From today onwards, CyberpowerPC customers are able to select new desktop gaming systems that will be based on the Z77 chipset motherboards from major manufacturers such as ASUS, Gigabyte, and ASRock. The Intel Z77 chipset is no pushover, where it is said to deliver advanced overclocking of the core, in addition to built-in USB 3.0 support, as well as maximum security being kept in mind at all times. All the mentioned can be found in CyberpowerPC’s top-of-the-line Fang III Viper and Cobra models, the newly launched Zeus 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 Thunder series as well as the Gamer Xtreme PC lines.

CyberpowerPC’s Z77-based models will target performance enthusiasts who want more bang for their hard-earned buck. After all, who does not want more for less, unless you are a super rich person who does not feel that your money will have to work all that hard for you. The Intel Z77 chipset will also come with support for Intel Smart Response Technology and Rapid Storage Technology, where they work in tandem to dramatically increase system responsiveness, merging the performance benefits of a solid-state drive with the storage capacity of a traditional HDD in a single drive volume.

Having said that, how many of you who want a spanking new computer would seriously consider what CyberpowerPC has on offer, or do you already have your favorite computer vendor in mind?

Sailing GPS targets those who love the seas

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 10:44 AM PDT

When it comes to the sport of sailing, there is an art to it just in case you were wondering. It is not all guts and glory as depicted in the movies as well as books, and if you decide to go at it solo, it can get extremely lonely at times. Back in the days when there was no GPS, one only had paper charts and parchments to work with. Good thing for those of you who are about to take up sailing, plenty of technological advancements have been made – and here we are with the sailing GPS.

The Sailing GPS comes in extremely handy, as it will not only account for the tacking that sailboats experience, but is also full well capable of informing you of the optimal tacking angles alongside your Tacking Time to Destination (TTD). Sounds like a dream, no? Hopefully it will be easy to use as well, which is something that we will take a closer look at right after the jump.

Standard GPS chartplotters “fail” in a sense as those do not account for the fact that sailboats do actually tack back and forth, hence leading to the logical conclusion that one does not know one’s tacking distances, resulting in a potentially (and perpetually) skewed Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). The Sailing GPS intends to solve this niggling issue, where it will display the exact distance of just how far each tack is, in addition to details such as the amount of time it is required to sail each tack, and the optimal tacks to arrive earliest.

Google Maps will play a role here, where it is there to mark waypoints in a jiffy. All you need to do is hook up via Bluetooth with the Sailing GPS, and life automatically gets a whole lot easier since there is no need to manually enter long strings of numbers for the latitude and longitude where multiple waypoints are concerned. Heck, the Sailing GPS is also capable of learning the unique “polar plots” for your individual vessel if the need arises. To top it all off, the Sailing GPS is one tough cookie, sporting a screen which does not crack when dropped, while it floats should you, by accident, happen to drop it into the seven seas.

NERF Jolt Mini Blaster

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 09:30 AM PDT

I have yet to meet someone who absolutely loathes NERF guns as well as other toys inspired by it. Of course, it can get a tad irritating at times, especially when you have a tight deadline to meet, and someone in the office (or your kid if you are working from home) starts sending NERF darts your way, never mind that they are not poisoned tipped but just made out of foam, and yet they have this weird way of gaining control over your nerves and start to tick you off. Well, you know that the best prepared folks will always have the upper hand in life, and the same applies to a NERF battle. Enter the $5.99 NERF Jolt Mini Blaster, where you can always tote around one or a couple of these in your pocket just in case.

The NERF Jolt Mini Blaster is the ideal emergency blaster, being sized slightly larger than the average adult hand, and it will even come with a couple of whistler darts to get you started right out of the box. Do not scoff at its size, as it packs enough punch to send this dart over 40 feet to your target.

Deep Or Light Pressure Neck Massager

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 08:30 AM PDT

You know the feeling of being all tense, especially when it is a particularly hard day at work. Well, here is something which might help you pass through the work week in an easier manner – with the $99.95 Deep Or Light Pressure Neck Massager, of course. This particular neck massager is capable of delivering penetrating, deep tissue or soothing, light pressure massage. It is different from other standard neck massagers which offer but vibration only, as this particular model will boast of a couple of rollers which rotate in two directions, simulating the kneading of the human hand for focused, deep pressure which in turn, releases trigger points around the cervical vertebrae or for gentle pressure similar to Swedish massage.

It does not matter what the source of your muscle pain and strain is – whether it is derived from activities such as driving, flying, or office work, this particular massager will be able to get the job done. It is made from comfortable foam, where it has been specially sculpted to fit comfortably around the neck. A couple of pull handles will enable you to compress the massager against specific areas of your neck and shoulders. You can opt for different massage styles and intensities through the attached hand-held controller.

Double Barrel Marshmallow Shooter

Posted: 07 Apr 2012 05:30 AM PDT

Mom always chided us for playing with our food, and I am quite sure a toy like this $34.99 Double Barrel Marshmallow Shooter will never sell back in her day, as well as in previous generations. This is partly due to the values of yore, where life was pretty tough back then, and food was extremely scarce during those two World Wars. Well, times have certainly changed over the years, and these days, you see tons of food being wasted everyday at hotel buffet lines and even at homes in developed countries.

With the Double Barrel Marshmallow Shooter, you will not use peas or other regular forms of ammunition, but rather, will take the delicious route as each magazine on this puppy is able to hold 25 marshmallows, for a combined total of 50 to pelt your target with. It is capable of a 30 foot range, although I am absolutely positive that this will not be able to do much during a zombie apocalypse unless it can hold brain matter. I do not mind being on the receiving end of the Double Barrel Marshmallow Shooter though, making sure I have a mug of frothy, hot chocolate in hand prior.
