Go green with Huntkey 90W Energy Star Universal Notebook Adapter Posted: 02 Jan 2010 12:04 PM PST
What makes this Huntkey offering so different from the rest? Well, the 90W Energy Star Universal Notebook Adapter is able to reach the Energy Star-V standard for starters, where the more output power it has, the higher power consumption laptop it can supply. Take for example a 15″ (or greater) laptop display screen with an independent graphics card – it will probably require such an adapter. Apart from that, the Huntkey 90W Energy Star Universal Notebook Adapter is also more than capable of meeting people’s needs where high efficiency is concerned, as it can hit up to 87% of power efficiency to place it at the highest level of power efficiency of any Energy Star Specification. In layman’s terms, the higher the efficiency, the more consumers are able to save on their monthly power bills. Don’t worry about the Huntkey 90W Energy Star Universal Notebook Adapter being limited in use to certain countries only – it functions worldwide by supporting input in the range of 100-240Vac at 50-60 Hz, alongside an output voltage of 19V DC, at 0.47A max. Each purchase comes with ten different tips that cater to a variety of laptop brands including HP, DELL, Lenovo, Asus, Thinkpad, Acer, Compaq, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung, Gateway, Panasonic, Sharp and Fujitsu among others. You will also be glad to know it comes with a two-year warranty and a free carrying bag for added convenience. Coolest Gadgets UK – For all your UK centric tech and gadget news. Mophie to offer iPhone credit card reader Posted: 02 Jan 2010 11:45 AM PST
Mophie, the popular iPhone and iPod accessory and battery add-on maker, will use CES 2010 as the platform to introduce their iPhone credit card reader and third-party app, marking the accessory manufacturer’s first attempt to break into the lucrative mobile payment systems market. The accessory has been unimaginatively dubbed as the “Credit Card Reader”, where each purchase will be accompanied by a complimentary third party processing application which enables one to turn the iPhone into a functional device that accepts credit payments simply by swiping one’s credit card through a special casing attached that is connected to their handset. There are still a great many details concerning this new mobile payment system by Mophie that have yet to be unveiled, and industry analysts are pretty sure that the device’s success will depend largely on the design and bulk of the iPhone add-on alongsde a price point that is hoped to be customer friendly. Make no mistake, this device isn’t about to start a monopoly in such a segment since it will go up head-to-head against Square. The Mophie Credit Card Reader will be packaged as an iPhone-only shell case which is similar to their Juice Pack Air battery pack for iPhone.
