Security Case for iPad

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 04:25 PM PDT

While we have looked at other solutions that make sure your iPad remains in pristine condition when traveling and carrying it around, how about a case for the iPad that makes sure no one is able to access its contents? Enter the Security Case for iPad, where this form fitting case will literally lock your iPad to prevent access by anyone else. Coming in a sleek and stylish black leather case, it features a three digit combination lock to make sure you (or anyone else who knows the combination) will be the only one able to use the device. At least all the relevant ports are still available when locked, so you can juice it up in that way when required. The Security Case for iPad is going for $44.95 each.

Canine Swim Safe

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 04:23 PM PDT

Does your pooch love swimming? Don’t take his swimming abilities for granted, as even dogs have a limited amount of energy, not to mention that you don’t really know what other kind of nasty creatures are lurking underwater that might just bite or sting your dog halfway when he is having a boatload of fun. The Canine Swim Safe flotation device features lateral stabilization, preventing dangerous rollover in smaller breeds and allaying fears in water-timid dogs. It is the perfect tool for boating, swimming and hydrotherapy, made out of durable ripstop nylon with Ethafoam insert, hook-and-loop closures and lift handles. The Canine Swim Safe will retail for $89.95 which isn’t too much to ask for some peace of mind, eh?

Targus rolls out new iPad cases

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 04:16 PM PDT

Say that you are a proud owner of a spanking new iPad – surely like your firstborn, you would pull all the stops from preventing the babe from getting hurt, providing all forms of protection within your means. Same goes for the iPad – as well all know, most Apple products tend to be lovely to look at with a glossy exterior, but then again that makes it easier for it to scratch and suffer damage from the slightest knock. There are different ways to offer protection to your precious new Apple iPad, and Targus provides a range of solutions with their new iPad cases, bringing over their expertise of laptop computer cases and accessories to the tablet arena now. To cater for the recently released iPad, Targus will expand its most popular product lines including Hughes, Crave and A7.

The Hughes Leather Portfolio Slipcase for iPad is made up of durable, oil-tanned premium leather with a soft twill inner lining that protects against scratches and dust. To make sure everything remains secure, a magnetic closure is included, where you can choose from either black or brown colors for $59.99 a pop.

As for the Crave Slipcase for iPad, this model was inspired by outdoor apparel as it is made of durable weather-resistant material which has been abrasion tested for durability. Astain-guard coating has been thrown in for good measure to protect its surface. You can pick from black or stylish silver to go along with your iPad, where stow-away top handles and an accessory pocket makes it easier to tote around additional iPad accessories (small ones, of course). The Crave Slipcase for iPad will retail for $34.99.

The A7 Neoprene Sleeve for iPad comes in a range of color options, including black, blue, brown and plum, and is able to be a case that caters to many kinds of personalities. You get a Tri-Cell Cushion System that integrates layers of foam, neoprene and air-ventilating mesh fabric which will offer protection against bumps. This is pretty affordable, going for $24.99.

All the above mentioned can be purchased from the beginning of this month onwards, and we do wonder what kind of other accessories will the company roll out for the iPad in the future. If you already own an iPad, which are the accessories that you have purchased, or are thinking of doing?

ZAGG offers invisibleSHIELD for iPad

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 04:15 PM PDT

So you are pretty happy with your slightly more than a week old iPad, caressing it lovingly at every turn and opportunity? Why not give it the protection it deserves in the form of the invisibleSHIELD from ZAGG – after all, this company is famous for its range of protective cases and skins for a variety of devices, and their invisibleSHIELD line is nothing short of impressive. Being extremely popular, it has now arrived for the Apple iPad to make sure that nasty fingerprints as well as pesky scratches that result from careless transportation of your iPad would never happen once the invisiblesHIELD is in place good and proper. Let us read more about it right after the jump.

Being one of the very first accessories created for the iPad by ZAGG, the invisibleSHIELD functions as a military-grade, virtually invisible, and indestructible film which to date has offered unparalleled protection for thousands of gadgets from bumps, scratches, and dings with a lifetime guarantee – now how about that. Of course, we suppose that this guarantee applies to the device’s lifetime and yours as well, whichever expires first (touch wood that it will be the former). Apart from that, the original invisibleSHIELD will also offer fingerprint resistance and added grip to the iPad's smooth surfaces, making sure that those suffering from a bad case of butterfingers won’t just let the iPad drop and slip whenever they handle it, and yet the touch screen display’s performance will not be compromised.

You will be able to bring home the full body invisibleSHIELD sells for $39.99, and the front only or back only sells for $29.99. Sounds like a pretty good deal either way, although we would highly recommend the full body version since you wouldn’t want to have an iPad that looks pristine all on only one side, with the other full of scratches and battle scars, would you?

Moonwatch for you favorite werewolf

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 11:30 AM PDT

Now instead of just glancing at your watch and looking for hands that point at numbers, you can stare at the moon cycle.  This Monwatch is meant to be very deep and thought provoking.  Although truthfully I think it’s probably just created by a Twilight obsessed fan.  Just a theory.  Apparently, it’s meant to establish some sort of a relationship between the moon cycle and a person’s emotional state.  Yes, they really said that.

If that doesn’t sound like a Twilight fan, I don’t know what does.  Now should you no longer want to stare at the moon cycle, you can push a handy little button and check the time.  One would think that it would show the time all the time, then you push a button to find out moon cycle, but that’s far too normal.  In order to find out the price on these you’ll have to contact The Emotion Lab.

Chat Stick reads chat logs

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 10:26 AM PDT

If you’re worried about what’s being said by your kids on messenger, this Chat Stick will make it easier for you to snoop.  It’d be great for suspicious parents, spouses and even employers.  It’ll pull chat logs from all of the different messenger programs.  Then it’ll store it on the drive and organize it in a way that’s easier for you to browse through.

Just plug it into the USB port of your computer and it’ll go to work.  It will scan chat logs from Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Trillian, Skype, Hello and Miranda.  Since it is just a USB drive, it’s a little more inconspicuous.  Although, it doesn’t help matters that it says Chat Stick in bold letters on the side.  You can purchase one for $107 through Paraben.  They also have a Porn Detection Stick for those of you trying to keep that sort of thing off of your computers.

Walkman Sound Dock is not a coffee mug

Posted: 11 Apr 2010 08:00 AM PDT

Although it seems to be a very strange shape for a speaker, it’s not such a bad idea.  It’s built for easy carrying, the speaker could easily fit into your car’s cupholder.  Plus, for those worried about theft, it’s more likely to slip under the radar as nothing more than a travel mug carrying your coffee of choice.  Plus, along with the speaker you get a dock that can charge both the speaker and your Sony Walkman at the same time.

The RDP-NWV 500 Speaker comes in bright orange or the slightly more discreet jet black.  It offers 360-degree sound through the 2-way speakers.  In order to keep it powered, you just plug it into your car just like you would your cellphone charger.  The big snag is that I’m not really sure why you’d want to use a small speaker in your car instead of your car’s speakers.  The set comes from Sony and appears that it is only in Japan right now.  Within Japan it can be purchased for ¥20,000 or about $214.
