Koala Indoor Faucet Connector

Posted: 29 Aug 2010 02:00 PM PDT

I’ve never had a thought to buy a connector that would allow a hose to be hooked up to the indoor faucet.  Yet it actually would open up a whole lot of possibilities.  Although I can’t see much use for a hose indoors, but  having a hose that could offer warm or hot water could be handy for various tasks though.

One of the big ones is giving the dog a bath.  I’ve never liked giving a dog a bath indoors, but it seems mean to make them shiver in ice cold water.  If the weather is warm enough you could shove a hose through the doorway that pumps warm water into a bin large enough to hold hot water for the dog.  There are other possibilities of course, you only have to think them up.  You can purchase one of the connectors for $9.95 through Exterior Accents.

iBottleopener for your iPhone

Posted: 29 Aug 2010 12:42 PM PDT

Cases offer to protect gadgets, but they should do more than that.  After all, some cellphones can double as a flashlight, an MP3 player and even their own miniature computer.  It would seem that putting a case that can only do one function on such a versatile gadget is just wrong.  Thankfully there is the iBottleopener that can open up your beers and keep your iPhone safe.

This case won’t even block any ports, so you can plug it in without needing to take off the case.  Beyond the bottle opener on the back it’s a pretty simple case.  It’ll work for  your iPhone 3G/3Gs and it’ll soon fit the iPhone 4.  It will cost you $19.95 for one of these cases, plus a little extra in shipping and handling.

Embrace Infant Warmer for developing countries

Posted: 29 Aug 2010 11:54 AM PDT

Where most of us are at, infants have a real fighting chance, even when there are complications with their birth.  However, there are still plenty of areas of this world where that isn’t the case.  The Embrace was designed just for those developing countries.  This instant infant warmer will keep infants warm during those crucial hours after a premature baby has been born.

This has the potential to reduce infant mortality in areas of the world that are heavily poverty-stricken.  It uses hot water and gets to the ideal 37-38 degrees Celsius.  Once it has reached that temperature it wraps up the infant tight to make sure they stay warm.  Amazingly, unlike other medical products this has managed to stay at a reasonable price.  They’ll be mass produced and sold for all of $25 to clinics everywhere.  It’s already had a trial run and did quite well in saving Nisha, an infant who needed a little boost in body heat.

Motion Activated Wall Switch Spy Camera

Posted: 29 Aug 2010 05:30 AM PDT

You can’t seem to trust anyone these days, which could very well be the reason behind more and more spy gizmos that are hitting the market. Here we have the Motion Activated Wall Switch Spy Camera which is pretty much self explanatory – it will record video whenever it detects movement within range, storing all footage onto a microSD memory card (up to 8GB) for your review later. Not only does it do video, but it also records audio so that you can be sure whatever your partner is discussing with a member of the opposite gender remains strictly business and nothing personal. It is a snap to install, and uses very little juice so you won’t notice a huge rise in your monthly power bill. With a 13 days standby time and 6 hours of recording, it will store all video in the MP4/AVI format at 640 x 480 resolution, snapping 2-megapixel stills as well if the need requires. Too bad the range of 3 meters is a tad short for a larger room, but otherwise it should do OK in a bedroom. The camera hold isn’t too discreet if you ask us though, but that’s what you get for $37 these days.

Cobra 7750 Platinum GPS navigation system

Posted: 29 Aug 2010 05:00 AM PDT

Looking for a new GPS navigation system, but you can’t quite figure out just which unit you would like to get? The Cobra 7750 Platinum might be just the thing for you then, as this new 7-inch device was specially built to aid the professional driver so that he/she will not end up driving around in circles, albeit in a much more advanced manner than you would expect from an uncouth, regular driver. What does the 7750 Platinum offer? For starters, it will come with enhanced graphics, Junction View with Lane Assist, State Mileage Log, and Hours-of-Service Log. Not only that, the new 7750 Platinum is touted to deliver the industry’s best last-mile routing, offering superior road coverage on secondary highways.

Thanks to enhanced graphics and menu options on the 7750 Platinum, drivers can concentrate on the road better since the display itself offers maximum visibility in sunlight and optimized efficiency when scrolling through searches and settings of the unit. With the addition of new Quick-Tabs, drivers will be able to see critical information such as the distances to weigh stations, travel centers, rest areas and mile markers with but a glance. Not only that, the new Junction View with Lane Assist will also provide drivers with 3D images of upcoming highway junctions alongside lane guidance and enhanced turn-by-turn directions. With State Mileage Log, one is able to track miles within a state for IFTA reporting and the Hours-of-Service timer will allow drivers to easily track their On-Duty, Off-Duty and Driving Time.

Companies might want to give the Cobra 7750 Platinum GPS navigation system a go, especially since it will deliver the most truck-specific POIs in the industry. It also has over 12 million standard Tele Atlas POIs and branded icons that visually represent participating businesses as instantly recognizable logos for easy and accurate identification of specific brands of interest. Each purchase will come with 3 months of unlimited downloads from Cobra’s exclusive AURATM Camera & Driving Hazard Database – all the above for $499.95 does seem like a pretty sweet deal.
