Posted: 14 Aug 2012 11:03 AM PDT The biggest gaming app can't get any better, can it? Students at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design think so. Hideaki Matsui and Andrew Spitz created, Super Angry Birds, a physical controller including a slingshot and detonator for the popular game. The video below shows the device in action. Basically, the units connect via USB. The slingshot can be aimed up or down and its motorized slider enables you to release the birds just as you would on a touch screen. Geek.com has more on the technicalities of how it works. And the inventors have no plans to sell the device. But with such realistic control of a game it is fun to think of what other controllers may be possible. [ A Better Angry Birds? copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |

Posted: 14 Aug 2012 08:26 AM PDT When it comes to Wi-Fi signals, we definitely have come a long way since the 802.11a/b and even 802.11g days, where 802.11n has been the de facto standard for quite some time already, having extended range like never before. Well, you might want to consider the $24.99 Bounce Wi-Fi Enhancer as your next gadget purchase around the home as well as at the office, where this particular device is said to be able to give your Wi-Fi signal a boost in strength – up to three times, in fact. Bear in mind that the Bounce Wi-Fi Enhancer will work only in the presence of external antennas, anything internal will not work. Talk about turning your router into one that runs on steroids! Good thing that there are no doping measures taken against Wi-Fi routers, right, otherwise the Bounce Wi-Fi Enhancer would surely be disqualified in the world of gizmos and gadgets. All you need to do is place the Bounce on top of your home's router, point it in the direction that needs the added boost, and you’re good to go. Anyone given a go as to figure out its effectiveness in the real world? [ Bounce Wi-Fi Enhancer copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |
Posted: 14 Aug 2012 07:04 AM PDT Water lovers everywhere, look no further for the ultimate place to entertain! Sure, boats are handy for wakeboarding or water skiing. But they are not real practical when it comes to entertaining. And if you have a lakeside place you dine outside to enjoy the views and weather. This 24" floating food station can seat up to 10 adults around the built-in charcoal grill. The table contains convenient recessed drink, plate and silverware space. Six compartments below the seats have ample space for your pantry items. Equipped with a 30-watt electrical trolling motor you'll move up to 2.5mph. No, you don't want to encounter waves, so keep it closer to shore. But it provides a nice pace for a leisurely cruise. The engine contains rechargeable batteries that will allow an 8 hour dinner party after 10 hours of charging. And the nylon umbrella is retractable when you want to grill. Boating can tend to be expensive however. So prepare yourself for the $50,000 price tag on this floating party cruiser. But if you have the cash, be the first on your lake to truly entertain on the water. [ Dine On the Water – Literally copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |
