The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii

The Nintendo Wii isn’t doing exactly well in terms of number of consoles sold each month lately, despite the strong start that it had over the PS3 and Xbox 360 when first released in Japan and the US. Well, I guess that is because time has caught up with the rather limited hardware of the Wii, not to mention the fact that Nintendo’s home console seem to be on the receiving end of far more shovelware compared to its counterparts.

I guess first party software from Nintendo always does well, and Nintendo pays no attention to how long fans must wait or how much they have suffered in the name of patience. In fact, anticipation has been building up over some time already with the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii. Having said that, here are more information concerning the upcoming title that might interest you in yet another swashbuckling adventure that you steer Link through.

Being a RPG, no doubt you will come across a range of fascinating areas, items and game play that will keep you coming back for more. The game will arrive on the Wii as an exclusive this coming November 20th, where we know that Link will need to make his way through several sections in the game as described below.

Lake Floria and the Parella Tribe: Later in his quest, Link must make his way to an as-yet-undiscovered section of the Faron Woods that is home to Lake Floria. The lake is inhabited by the squid-like Parella tribe, which makes its first appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Even when revisiting past areas like Faron Woods, players will make new discoveries and, occasionally, find drastic changes to the environment that require them to explore these areas in entirely different ways.

Swimming: As one might expect, getting to and exploring Lake Floria requires Link to swim. The intuitive motion control of the Wii Remote Plus gives players a natural way to control Link as he swims across the lake's surface or into its watery depths.

Insects and Potions: Throughout the game, Link travels back and forth between the surface and Skyloft. Players can collect bugs in the various areas they visit, and these insects can be used to infuse new ingredients into the variety of different potions available for purchase at the bazaar in Skyloft, giving the potions powerful new effects. Players can experiment with different potions and insects to find the concoctions that best meet their needs.

Fun Fun Island: Also new in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is Fun Fun Island, one of the small islands that float above the clouds near Link's hometown. As the name suggests, there's a lot of fun to be had there, but before Link can enjoy everything the island has to offer, he must find a way to fulfill the request of its lone inhabitant.

Whip: Players can use the Wii Remote Plus to lash Link's whip at enemies and objects. The whip also can be used to grab items and is integral to solving certain puzzles. Link's items can be selected in real time without pausing the game when he is on the ground, making it easier to switch between a sword and other items.

Let’s face the facts and man up – how many of us comply to state laws that require us to use hands-free kits whenever we attend to an incoming call? I would suppose many of us take chances that the men in blue aren’t watching, but then again to be fair, the law was enforced because research has clearly shown that we cannot fully concentrate on what is ahead of us on the roads if we were to be occupied by the conversation that is being held at the moment, especially when it is with an engrossing friend.

Nokia might have missed the memo and realized that it is already autumn for those of us living in the northern hemisphere, offering the Luna Bluetooth headset in brighter colors apart from the standard issue black colored models that you’re used to seeing people wear all this while. What makes the Luna all the more special would be the inclusion of NFC capability, so handsets with built-in NFC such as the Nokia C7, Oro, 600, 603, 700, 701 and N9 will all be able to play nice with it, freeing up Bluetooth for some other device to work with your phone.

Coming in a 2-piece design, the Nokia Luna comprises of a base and the bit that goes into your ear. Whenever the earpiece is removed from the base, it will automatically kick start the Bluetooth connection to your handset and answer incoming calls. Tipping the scales at just 5 grams for the headset, it boasts up to eight hours talktime or sixty days standby – assuming, of course, you place it back in the holder.

You will be able to pick up the Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset in black, white, fuchsia, green, yellow and blue shades for around €69 a pop prior to taxes sometime before the year is over.
