Workplace full of domes and trees, in short, it is ideal Posted: 23 Feb 2011 05:02 PM PST The other day, we reported on the Bubble Tree. It was not a tree that made bubbles, but a dome-shaped tent that allows the user the comfort of the indoors outdoors. I thought it was a good example of “futuristic” technology, but I didn’t realize that Christian Pottgeisser Architect’s website showed one of their creations had implemented similar Bubble Tree tech. As you can see in the image, this is a workplace where the cubicles have been replaced with sphericals. There might not be much privacy with these transparent screens, but they sure look a lot better than the cloth cubicles. Also, that wood on the floor looks cool, and just so you know, the trees that are springing up from the ground are fake. I wonder what it would take to make them real? I suppose that sunlight would have to be provided from a skylight, but watering them would be simple. Of course, they could grow, which means the wood base around them would have to be trimmed. Real trees or faux trees, I will have to say that this is an office that I would gladly work in. Most offices are designed to minimize distraction, but end up minimizing imagination and dedication. Sega Toys Spray Art Toy allows for 3D creations Posted: 23 Feb 2011 04:38 PM PST Some of you might know about this “new” 3D fad that has been going around, and has even affected toys like the 3D Giant Chalk from Crayola. Another toy that has 3D capability is this 3D Spray Art Pro from Sega Toys, and it involves a sprayer that allows creations to be viewed in 3D. I am going to assume that the glasses are the Chromadepth glasses, like the one on the Crayola. The main unit is battery-powered and there are colors of every type that can be used. Also included in this package are some cutesy greeting cards, just to start the user out. I do not really know how the 3D effect works on this, and I do not think a video of it would help. Unless the video uses special effects to show what it is like. Then again, those special effects dramatizations never look as good as real life. The 3D Spray Art Pro will be available in Japan on April 28 for a price of about $45. This certainly seems like something that would be a hit in America, so I would definitely advise Sega to bring it over. Just to let you know, the set includes on main unit (sprayer), two pairs of 3D glasses, 5 color pens, as well as 10 greeting cards. Spontuneous – a New Game that Makes You Break Into Song Posted: 22 Feb 2011 06:16 PM PST Did you ever have someone say something to you, a word or a phrase that causes you to break out into song? Like the other day I asked my mom if she had managed to get her shopping done, and she replied "Yesterday" which led me to the most embarrassing Beatles rendition that should absolutely never be replicated… ever. Well, to hear the story be told, that same thing happened to the creator of the newest game craze, Spontuneous, aptly dubbed the game where lyrics come to life. The difference is, instead of just laughing off the phenomenon, he created a totally cool board game. Using what are called "trigger words" players score points by being the first to sing at least five words of a song containing one of the triggers. When you score, you roll the dice and advance on the gameboard. One thing though, once you use a song, it can't be used again for the rest of the game. The game is fast paced, super entertaining and is just about perfect for a group of friends, young and old alike, my mom AND my 7 year old loved it. It's rare to find a game to play with the whole crew where the playing field is pretty darn level, and it's even more amazing just how much music you can find inside your brain when you really need to. So get your hands on the newest game craze, and be the first to break it out at your next party, available now for $29.99 from www.spontuneous.com Source: www.spontuneous.com Conference Calendar – The global conference and expo finder.
