K-TOR Pocket Socket 2

You know something? Each time the brand name K-TOR comes across my mind, all I can think of is actually KOTOR, which happens to be short for Knights Of The Old Republic, which happens to be one of those Star Wars titles that only fanboys will be able to appreciate. Well, K-TOR so happens to be under our radar this time around, which is why I have started to get flashbacks of KOTOR, but I will do my utmost best to put those aside and concentrate on just what the K-TOR Pocket Socket 2 is able to deliver to the masses.

For starters, you are able to more or less tell that the Pocket Socket 2 has something to do with charging capabilities. It makes perfect sense, after all, K-TOR happens to be a designer and manufacturer of portable power generators, so the second generation release of the Pocket Socket hand crank generator has been named the Pocket Socket 2, which is definitely far from being inspiring by any means. The Pocket Socket 2 is a highly affordable human powered generator, where it boasts of a standard outlet interface that is capable of delivering backup energy and emergency power to a wide range of electronic devices.

After all, you can never quite tell just when a blackout is going to happen, and it makes perfect sense to be prepared at all times, so having the Pocket Socket 2 right by your bedside is always a good idea. There is the patented technology within the Pocket Socket 2 (in addition to the other K-TOR portable generators, of course) that enable the efficient conversion of human energy into a 120 volt power source. Just what are some of the other devices that the Pocket Socket 2 is able to charge? We are looking at smartphones, tablets, GPS equipment, handheld radios, digital cameras, and medical equipment among others. The Pocket Socket 2 can be yours for $64.95 a pop.

Bang & Olufsen launches BeoLab 14 surround speaker system

When it comes to quality audio systems, regardless of whether it is at home or somewhere else, you know for sure that the name Bang & Olufsen is synonymous with quality and clarity, and there are no two ways about it. Well, it seems that the folks over at Bang & Olufsen have done it again, this time around with the delicious sounding BeoLab 14 surround sound speaker system, which also ushers in an entirely new category of speakers to the Bang & Olufsen family of devices.

The BeoLab 14 surround speaker system is said to be able to revolutionize the marketplace, where it would come across as a conveniently packaged, all-inclusive solution which delivers compact aesthetics, exceptional audio quality and a high-end surround sound performance. The BeoLab 14 will come in a 4.1 or a 5.1 digital surround sound set up, where you will get up to half a dozen individual active speakers, where each of them has its own amplifier, resulting in an unprecedented level of sound quality, never mind that the speakers themselves come in such a compact form factor. Not only that, the BeoLab 14 is also said to be able to play nice with the slew of other TV brands, making it non- exclusive to just Bang & Olufsen televisions alone, now how about that?

The BeoLab 14 is said to continue from its predecessors’ successes, where stunning performance is still delivered despite coming in a compact form factor. The satellite speakers on the BeoLab 14 happen to feature diminutive circles of anodized aluminum with exchangeable fabric covers in a range of colors (white, black, silver, dark grey, red and petroleum blue), where they can be easily integrated into even the most stringent interior design schemes. Not only that, the sculptural subwoofer holds separate amplifiers for all speakers in the system, which should allow it to pump up the bass volume from a beguilingly slender footprint. The new BeoLab 14 surround sound speaker system will cost $3,995 and $4,395 for the 4.1 solution and 5.1 solution, respectively.

Window Washing Robot

How does washing windows sound to you? It is not the most interesting task to indulge in for sure, but when some chore has got to be done, someone has got to do the dirty job. Of course, you can always employ someone else to do the work for you, but there is nothing quite like the rite of passage when you are building character – either in you, or in your young ones. The current generation might be happier to note that technology has made life a whole lot easier, where one can now kiss goodbye to old fashioned window washing, thanks to the advent of the $399.99 Window Washing Robot.

The Window Washing Robot is touted to be the world's first robot which will automatically clean any glass surface that you place it on, regardless of its thickness. This would mean the gamut of windows, glass doors, mirrors and hard to reach outdoor windows in and around your home can be cleaned with but a single touch of a button. There is a powerful internal vacuum pump which seals it onto the glass as the two motors drive the anti-slip treads, so that this robot will be able to get up and about its cleaning business without slipping and falling to a premature end. Not only that, the Window Washing Robot has built in artificial intelligence that will calculate the glass area automatically, hence resulting in the most efficient route to clean it – or at least according to its algorithm.

Lalabu – Baby Clothes that YOU Wear

It’s been quite a while since I toted my child around in a little papoose, but I do remember the days that I wandered about with her strapped to my chest, her little legs dangling. She didn’t seem to mind it, but I cant say she loved it either. I needed to get stuff done, and she needed to come with me, so out came the contraption, which my husband and I wore shamelessly for months. Not much has changed in the 10 years that have followed. Until now.

Check out The Lalabu carrier, designed especially for the newborn baby and nursing moms, The Lalabu is actually a rather attractive shirt with a built in pouch and nursing bra. When there’s no baby tucked inside, the shirt looks like a simple top, easy to wear and accessorize, but modest and comfortable. The Lalabu is made to be worn all day as a base layer, or with other clothing and the specialized pouch design is meant to emulate a swaddle, which calms babies, and often lulls them to sleep.

The Lalabu is designed to carry babies from the time that they are born until they reach around 15 pounds, but can also be used the entire time mommies are breastfeeding. The Lalabu is made in the U.S.A and is named to honor the African woman who taught the makers of the Lalabu how they carry their babies. The company has a ”One Day One Dollar” model, where they will be giving $1 of every sale to help women coming out of poverty in Africa and one day each week helping to free exploited women in their hometown of Atlanta.

Well that’s certainly a win-win, and no more plastic snaps and little dangling legs… I like it. If you’re a mommy or mommy to be (or know one) and would like a Lalabu carrier they are available for pre-order now, in black, brown, gray, pink and blue for around 50 bucks, a 10 dollar savings off retail. Just visit indiegogo.com …but you won’t get one till July.
