Start a book club for mental stimulation.  Plan a vacation to relax and get away. Get clothes that remind you how "liked" you are. Wha? Clothes that interact? Some smart MIT students created Like-A-Hug, a wearable social media vest. As people Like your comments, status updates, photos or videos on Facebook the vest inflates and gives you a sort of hug. If you want to send love – or make that Like – back just squeeze the vest and deflate it. This concept clothing certainly won't cut out the need for human interaction.  But with social media taking up a larger portion of our lives it seems that some sort of physical feeling of support or encouragement could be a nice touch. When have bank accounts like Bill Gates or Larry Ellison the world is pretty much yours, I'm sure.  Wired decided to look back on some of the year's most stupefying products in "Overhyped, Overpriced: 2012′s Insanely Expensive Gear." I'm guessing these are the things that Bill and Larry probably have on their lists. The most expensive of the bunch is the $3 billion (yes billion) Rolls Royce 102EX Phantom. This is the electrical version of the Phantom released as a sort of litmus test as to the eco-friendly interests of Rolls aficionados. No, it didn't cost $3B to buy but to reportedly develop. Then the project was canned. Other favorites on this Wired list include a $2 million prototype camera lens built for a Sheikh in Quatar and 8 foot tall, $250,000 concert speakers complete with 24 karat gold accents. That lens ought to produce some seriously good pictures. If those are to expensive just stick with the $100,000 two person submarine that allows you to jump and dive like a whale. Well, perhaps truth is about to catch up with fiction (with some miles left to go, of course) with the introduction of the ViSi Mobile monitor that will display the vital signs of a patient. The ViSi Mobile monitor is the brainchild of the good people over at Sotera Wireless of San Diego, California, where this wearable sensor pack will rely on tried-and-tested Wi-Fi technology, where it will enable doctors who get around with a tablet or smartphone in tow to be able to remotely monitor patient vital signs without sacrificing on accuracy, so much so it is said to offer the accuracy of an intensive care unit. The ViSi Mobile monitor was designed around the concept of "monitoring in motion," where it is made up of several units that is made of rugged, water-resistant plastic. These will include a wrist unit with monitor readout, chest sensors, a blood pressure cuff monitor and a thumb sensor.
