Posted: 29 Aug 2012 06:30 AM PDT Most people would swear that the iPhone 4S has one of the best cameras around on a smartphone, and I am referring to the days before the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 were released. Well, do you agree with that particular statement, or do you think that it is a biased perception? Regardless, if you happen to own an iPhone in your pocket and want to do far more than just snap photos of your food with it, then you might want to get up close and personal with other items around you thanks to the $29.99 Mini Microscope For iPhone. Touted to deliver up to 60x magnification right on your iPhone itself, it will come with a trio of built-in white LEDs that function as a light source, allowing you to check out very small things, verify watermarks on important documents and others. All you need to do is attach the Mini Microscope to the camera lens of your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S and you are good to go. [ Mini Microscope For iPhone copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] |
Posted: 29 Aug 2012 06:00 AM PDT How many of you out there actually use a scanner, raise your hands? Well, scanners are useful for stashing important documents and immortalizing them in the digital format, as you have more or less run out of space to store those physical papers. Here is one unique scanner that doubles up as an iPad dock as well – the £149.99 DOCS2GO Scanner for iPad. Coming in a sleek form factor, the DOCS2GO Scanner for iPad will be able to scan documents and photos amongst others, where all you need to do is dock your iPad in the standard 30-pin connector, send those documents that you want to be scanned through the scanner, and see them appear on your iPad's display, as though there was a bunch of garden gnomes hiding in your iPad to perform such magic. Definitely a whole lot more enticing to look at than the noisy flatbed scanner, the DOCS2GO Scanner for iPad will run off juice from your iPad's 10W power adaptor. It is a snap to tote around in your backpack whenever you travel, and it has just strengthened the case for tablets being a viable portable workstation for folks who work in a mobile environment. Edifier Sound To Go PLUS portable all-in-one speaker system Posted: 29 Aug 2012 05:30 AM PDT Don't you think that the boombox is so 1980s? Well, if you happen to think along that train of thought, and figured out that the new millennium obviously needs something far more powerful when you want to share your favorite rockin' tunes (or if you want to carry out a flash mob somewhere with wicked dance moves), then you would obviously need some sort of highly portable and yet powerful audio system. Now, with the Edifier Sound To Go PLUS portable all-in-one speaker system, I am quite sure that it will not be able to fill up the entire hall with sound, and neither is it any match for noise on the road, but at least in smaller, more intimate enclosed areas, it is able to pull its own weight and pack quite the aural punch as well. Why not take a look at the Edifier Sound To Go PLUS portable all-in-one speaker system in the extended post and let us know what you think about it after that? LG Optimus L9 expands the L Series family Posted: 29 Aug 2012 05:00 AM PDT I remember back in the fledgling days of the mobile phone industry, where a new model was released not every couple of months, but rather, it can sometimes take an entire year before a new model hit the market. Needless to say, things have certainly progressed at lightning fast speed these days, and we get bombarded with new smartphones left, right and center. Well, I guess LG has decided to follow the adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" to the letter after looking at how the Optimus L3, Optimus L5, and Optimus L7 smartphones performed in terms of sales post release earlier this year, hence coming up with their latest addition to the L Series family, the Optimus L9. Well, just what kind of hardware specifications and performance does the LG Optimus L9 pack underneath the hood? We are looking at a body that measures just 9.1mm thin, where it sports a slimming metallic streak as well as a modern square style which your hand will definitely find comfortable in holding. Apart from that, there is also the vaunted largest-in-class 4.7" IPS display which is touted to deliver clear and true-to-life images complete incredible detail for comfortable viewing experience. In order to make sure that the Optimus L9 does not end up dead before the day is over, it will be equipped with a high-density 2,150mAh SiO+ battery so that you can enjoy maximum performance. To ensure that this is truly a smartphone, the LG Optimus L9 will also come with differentiated UX features, including the QTranslator and My Style Keypad function along with the ever-popular QMemo. First of all, the new QTranslator function is a hoot to play around with, where it is touted to instantly translate words, entire sentences and phrases using a simple scan, drawing from its reservoirs of nearly 44 foreign languages to 64 user languages. The implementation of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology will also enable it to recognize letters upon scanning with the camera, while the integrated electronic dictionary or online translation engine are able to translate words, sentences or phrases. No idea on when the Jelly Bean update will arrive, although it comes with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system right out of the box. The 1GHz dual-core processor should be enough to keep it running most apps decently, while 1GB RAM is accompanied by 4GB of internal memory.
