China’s Tianmen Mountain has a Glass Skywalk Posted: 30 Nov 2011 07:30 AM PST
Now there is an excellent attraction made for those who want a little thrill in their tour, and it is 4 times higher at 4,700 feet. This is a glass skywalk located on the side of Tianmen mountain in Zhangjiajie, and there is a video after the break if you want to see it for yourself. This is a terrific way to get some “breathtaking views of the mountains”, and I am not talking about just underneath the sidewalk. By the way, these sidewalks are 2.5 inches thick, so there isn’t a way you are going to fall through, no matter how much jumping you will do. Unless someone brings one of those rings that can shatter glass, like in Die Another Day. Okay, so this is probably going to go on my list of places to go before I die. Is there any one of our readers who have been here, and walked across this sidewalk? If so, please leave a comment and let me know how it was. Origami Baby Stroller can fold by itself Posted: 30 Nov 2011 07:15 AM PST
Fortunately, the 4moms Shop has come up with a way to do a self-folding stroller that transforms in a way reminiscent of The Transformers. There is a video after the jump, and I am surprised that I don’t hear the wha-chut-chat sounds of transforming from the old cartoon that made their way into the Michael Bay movies. By the way, this is more than just the first power-folding stroller, as it has its own power. This helps you charge your cellular phone, as well as count your miles. It also has daytime running lights, pathway lights for low-light conditions, and even sensors that can detect when a child is in the seat. This Origami stroller is “everything a stroller should be”, and I can help but agree. However, this will cost you, a lot. Only rich parents can afford it at $849. Take smarter videos with your smart phone with Mobislyder Posted: 30 Nov 2011 07:00 AM PST
Now smartphones have the Mobislyder, which is a portable dolly designed for small video enabled devices. It requires a lot less set up than professional video equipment. There is a video of the Mobislyder in action after the jump. As you can see, it can be placed on any surface with its glider track and a swivel for many angles. Of course, it will take a little bit of setting up, but not like some big Hollywood production. I believe that this is worth it just to get the emotional effect that a moving camera can create. I once heard that scenes from the upcoming Avengers film were filmed with iPhones, but it turned out that this was just a rumor. Clearly, director Joss Whedon could get some great shots with an iPhone if he had one of these. You can pre-order the Mobislyder for about $135, and cure shaky hand video syndrome. Ghost Lamps add a dash of eerie to your living room Posted: 30 Nov 2011 05:00 AM PST
The Ghost Lamp here comes with a built-in light sensor, so that you can also do your bit in saving electricity whenever you aren’t around your desk. Tethered to your computer via USB (from whence it will also receive its power), this is one ghost that won’t venture too far, since it is limited by a cable that measures around 3.35″. Time to wear the Pac-Man plush hat and make a nuisance of yourself around the office! Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews.
