Logitech Wireless Boombox for the iPad Posted: 28 Oct 2011 08:10 AM PDT
Now they have the Wireless Boombox, which I also got a chance to try out. There are some portable speakers that produce some real kickin’ sound that can really rock a room. The actual specs are two 3 inch laser-tuned neodymium drivers for a rich mid range, two half-inch neodymium tweeters, and four two-inch passive radiators for some serious deep bass. Even though this product has “for the iPad” in its name, this is really false advertising. In reality, this product will pair and connect with any product that is Bluetooth compatible. If it doesn’t connect wirelessly, then you can use the included audio cable and connect it via 3.5 mm aux jack. These speakers have a rechargeable battery that is rechargeable, a NiMH battery that is good for six hours on a full charge. Assuming that you are carrying your Bluetooth compatible device with you, you can carry the Wireless Boombox on your shoulder like a ghetto blaster from the eighties. It also has a pop-out stand in the back so you can stand it up on a table or other flat surface. You should be able to get the Logitech Wireless Boombox now for about $149.99 on the official site. SofShell for the iPad 2 from Sofproducts Posted: 28 Oct 2011 08:05 AM PDT
As its name implies, the SofShell goes for a soft rubber feel rather than a hard plastic or metal shell. It also has a unique ability of being transparent. You would be able to completely see through it if not for the interior case texture that keeps it on and makes it easy to peel off. It “fits like a glove” and is able to reduce shock by 43 percent. Sofproducts also states that their product is “anti-slip”, which means that you could rest an iPad 2 with a SofShell backing on an angle that is 70 degrees, and it would not slide off. I mentioned before that the SofShell has a rubbery feel, but it is not rubber, silicone, neoprene, or urethane. I’m not certain what it is, but it is medical-grade material that is hypoallergenic and latex free. I reviewed the SofShell for the iPad2, which is not compatible with the first version of the iPad and is available here for about $49.50. You can get a Sofshell for the original iPad, as well as a SofShell for the iPad 2 with a SmartCover on the SofProducts web site. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. Microsoft’s new video shows us what the future will look like, again Posted: 28 Oct 2011 08:00 AM PDT
This is apparently the new version of this video. The video, which can be viewed after the jump, is half propaganda for Microsoft and the other half a realistic view of the future. There is a definite emphasis on mobile technology being thinner, as the tablets and mobile phones are as skinny as credit cards. Considering that the new RAZR from Motorola is going to be the thinnest smartphone at 7.1 mm, I can easily see it going down from there. About the only technology that I can’t see working now is this 3D and 2D integration. It seems like the people in the video can just flick their finger and some sort of hologram floats in front of them. The one thing that I believe will be the future is that everything will be connectable. So if you have a meeting in a city where you just arrived, you will be able to look out the window of the taxi and see what building you will be meeting in the next day. I also noticed that the little girl had one crowded desktop. That is the future right there. So, what do you readers think? Watch the video below and leave a comment. The Robot Tea Infuser will get the job done for you though – made out of stainless steel so that it will not spoil the taste of the tea that you’re about to drink, all you need to do is pop open his chest compartment, load it up with your favorite loose leaf tea, close it, and pour some hot water inside – waiting for a few minutes for the delicious brew to infuse. He comes with adjustable arms that will enable him to hang freely around your mug – now how about that? Conference Calendar – The global conference and expo finder. Bodymetrics Body Scanner relies on PrimeSense technology Posted: 28 Oct 2011 05:30 AM PDT
Bodymetrics however, feels that there is potential in a full body scanner – hence rolling out their new device that relies on PrimeSense technology that delivers a Body Mapping" platform, where it is touted to be the world"s first full 3D body scanner. Using eight PrimeSense 3D sensors which will map the body"s measurements and shape. Bodymetrics basically changes the way consumers buy clothes via the virtual try on" of outfits, where it is applicable at both retail stores and online clothing retailers. This enables you to perform a more realistic fit before purchase, and I suppose it makes it easier to purchase clothes for someone else too, right? This new 3D body scanner was launched at New Look, who as a global clothing retailer, will rely on their 3D body scanner application to offer fashion advice, where body-shape analytics are used to find garments which will best suit your unique shape and size. Guess husbands and boyfriends will benefit the most here – no longer do they need to make guesses as to whether the skirt or dress is going to fit their beloved or not. I am not quite sure whether the implementation of this kind of technology will see the initial investment be incorporated into the price of clothes – what do you think?
