Posted: 23 Aug 2011 08:30 AM PDT Tron has clearly has an influence on “geek culture”, and I don’t see why someone hasn’t made a push bike that looks like a Tron light cycle. It appears that Trek designer Ryan Callahan has created a Tron scooter with the Trek Light Cycle Push Bike. Yes, that is its full name, as long and drawn out as it is. My Source does not have much information on this, but you will note the blue lights in between the wheels. I wonder if this is battery powered or if the wheels in motion power these lights. I don’t know if it has the feature, but I know that it does not have the ability to make a wall behind it as it rides. Just imagine a kid zooming around on this thing, pretending that he is Tron. You will note the grid terrain that this scooter has been placed upon. Too bad real sidewalks and streets are not as smooth. Yeah, I wonder how this Tron scooter can handle the real world. So far, there isn’t any word on when a little tyke can get one of these, but it will be on display at Trek World 2012. I think that is some sort of conference that uses the Trek logo in Tron font. Interesting. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. [ Trek Light Cycle Push Bike copyright by Coolest Gadgets ] Related Posts: |
WINGStand truly brings the iDevice and Bluetooth keyboard together Posted: 23 Aug 2011 08:15 AM PDT Apple has a nice peripheral for the iPad and iPhone with their wireless Bluetooth Keyboard, but you really need your iDevice to be at the proper angle if a keyboard is going to be any use. This is where the WINGStand comes in. It can attach the iPad or iPhone to the keyboard. That might sound like a simple piece of plastic, but in the gadget world, little things like this can do a lot. I don’t know why Apple’s wireless Bluetooth keyboard doesn’t have something like a Wingstand on it already. What were users doing before, leaning their iDevice against a wall? Of course, this is a Kickstarter project, which means that it isn’t on the market yet, but someone really wants it on the market and needs your donation to make it happen. In fact, a donation of $20 will get you a WINGStand of your own, with additional sets being $15 each. If this gets out into the market, I have an a jingle for it, to the tune of “Windy”. Who’s the gadget that puts the keyboard on the iDevice, everyone knows its WINGStand. Okay, that’s about all the jingle that I have now, but if the creators of the WINGStand want to use that last verse for their official jingle, I’m giving it to them for free. Privacy Shell will get people looking at you Posted: 23 Aug 2011 08:00 AM PDT What you are seeing here in this photo are Wearable Privacy Shells. I believe that the purpose of this device is to shield out the rest of the world for at least a few moments. I am guessing that a few moments of peace is all that you will get as everyone will be looking at you after that. However, I have seen situations where people ignore the strangest and most unusual things. Just go to a big city and you’ll see all kinds of people that people just walk by every day. You will notice that this Privacy Shell is designed for two people, but there are Privacy Shells that cover just the face, or just the eyes. You can see more at my Source link after the jump. I suppose that we live in a time where donning a wearing a Privacy Shell actually makes sense. I understand the need to want to try and get away, but using a privacy shell like this is like imitating the head-hiding method of an ostrich. I suppose that if you were looking for some kind of cover for your public display of affection, this is it. It will get people curious of what is going on behind the cover. LG A530 notebook joins the 3D fray Posted: 23 Aug 2011 06:00 AM PDT LG’s latest notebook would be something different the moment you lay your eyes on it, as the A530 will sport stereoscopic 3D support in addition to a 3D dual webcam that is located right above the 15.6″ Full HD 3D LCD display, allowing you to basically shoot your very own 3D videos and photos. There is a bunch of solid hardware crammed inside the luxurious metalliclook chassis, making sure that everyone knows you forked out top dollar (or Euro) for this one. It does seem as though the stereoscopic 3D bandwagon is catching on in many ways, ranging from tablets to smartphones, and notebooks are not exempted either. Guess LG decided to bring over their expertise in 3D viewing from the living room to the world of notebooks, and have done so with the Xnote A530. While the majority of the other 3D notebooks deliver just 3D viewing, the LG A530 will be different from the rest since it offers a “full, superior 3D experience, with the ability to see, shoot and share via the 3D dual webcam”. I must say that the inclusion of the 3D dual webcam clearly sets the A530 apart from the rest, since it allows you to conjure up dazzling 3D content in a jiffy. Apart from that, the LG A530 also offers an integrated 3D experience as you will be able to playback all the generated 3D content on the rest of LG's ecosystem that comprises of 3D-enabled smartphones, TVs and monitors. Apart from that, you can bring the 3D love to the masses as the LG A530 allows you to share 3D content with the rest of the world simply by uploading it over to YouTube. Not only that, LG has also thrown in its very own 3D Space Software, which is LG's new integrated user interface that will enable you to access 3D video, photos, games and movies in a jiffy for an even wider range of 3D options. Last but not least, there is LG's proprietary Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology that offers brighter 3D images which are totally free of flicker, allowing users to watch 3D content on the LG A530 even for extended periods without having to harm their eyes with feeling of strain or dizziness. No idea on pricing, but LG will deliver the premium LG A530 in Europe first, followed by the Middle East and Africa. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, check out our reviews. Kuchofuku Air-Conditioned Cooling Work Shirt Posted: 23 Aug 2011 05:30 AM PDT The Japanese have come up with yet another “tool” to help you combat sweltering summers that you experience over there – this looks like any other short-sleeved polyester shirt from the outside, but when you take a look at the $186 price tag, you would definitely realize that surely all that money forked out for it would have to go somewhere – at that is because this work shirt is equipped with fans. Kufukucho’s ingenious solution has its DNA rooted in previous cooling solutions such as seat cushions, mats and beds, and this polyester shirt follows suit by integrating fans which will drive fresh, cooling air flow all over your body to make sure you even save on deodorant in the long run. A control box will house a couple of AA batteries to power the fans, and you can even adjust the fan’s speed. Coolest Gadgets UK – For all your UK centric tech and gadget news. Posted: 23 Aug 2011 05:00 AM PDT Most of us would think that the only device that has a QWERTY keyboard imprinted on it comes in the form of a smartphone, but ThinkGeek has something different this time around to tease you. We’re talking about the QWERTY Premium Leather Wallet, and you can tell by its name that “investing” $39.99 in it would make you own one of the geekiest money holding equipment in the market! This premium leather wallet will feature embossed keyboard keys, sporting half a dozen slots for cards, a couple of folding money pockets, in addition to two hidden pockets. The red lining inside does resemble that of a typewriter ribbon for old times’ sake. There is also an “All work and no play…” quote embossed on the inside of this wallet, slowly nudging you to make purchase decisions with whatever money you have left inside to make sure you don’t end up as the dullest boy in class – or at the office.
