Once in a while, along comes a gizmo that will work much better than everything else on the market. For now, Hammacher is offering the Low Profile Window Fan which is touted to deliver superior airflow without being complicated to use – on the contrary, it has been tested and rated to be more or less dummy-proof even in the hands of luddites. Dubbed “The Best Low Profile Window Fan” by our friends over at Hammacher, it is capable of moving a greater volume of air (we’re talking about 58% more compared to the second-ranked model), where analysts’ anemometer readings showed that its dual motors are capable of rolling out 608 feet-per-second air streams from 5′ away, which is far better than the second place model that mustered a mere 560 fps.

TomTom unveils VIA Series in North America

TomTom, one of the more trusted names when it comes to GPS navigation systems, has recently announced that they will be making available their new VIA Series in the US as well as the Great White North. These new TomTom VIA navigation devices was originally announced at CES 2011, where they are meant to deliver a powerful navigation experience in a sleek new design, accompanied by an enhanced software platform and premium safety-enhancing features such as Intuitive Voice Recognition and Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling.

In addition to deliver even more choices for drivers, the new VIA Series will feature a range of models that include the 4.3" VIA 1405 and 1435, alongside the 5" VIA 1505 and 1535. If you intend to purchase those, you can also opt for Lifetime Maps and/or Lifetime Traffic if you have additional dough to spare.

With TomTom VIA's super-slim design and their new, integrated and innovative fold-and-go EasyPort mount, you will find it a snap to position your spanking new GPS navigation device on the windshield or the dash, where the display of the device will orient itself courtesy of a handy flip-screen feature. Just when you thought that the netbook scene is dying out because of the onslaught of tablets, along comes Hercules to save the day. We’re talking about the eCAFE netbooks that come in 10″ designs, where the two will be known as the eCAFÉ Slim HD and the eCAFÉ EX HD, with the former being one of the smallest in its class while the latter is touted to offer one of the best battery life on the market.

The new eCAFÉ netbooks are pretty happy to be different from the rest of the crowd, and we will explain to you why. For example, the Slim HD model will come with a 10-inch display as well as all the relevant connectivity options (a trio of USB ports, an Ethernet port, headphone and microphone connectors and a card reader), all crammed into a 0.8″ thin form factor that tips the scales at a mere 1.9 lbs.
