If you have never heard of Philip K. Dick, then you might have heard of his body of work.

His stories have inspired many movies including the classic Blade Runner, not to mention other decent science fiction films like Total Recall, Minority Report, and A Scanner Darkly. Then there are other mediocre adaptions like the Nicholas Cage movie Next, Impostor, and Paycheck. I’m not certain of the status of The Adjustment Bureau. That last film is coming soon, has Matt Damon, and looks pretty interesting.

I guess a lot of people like the body of works he left behind (he passed away in 1982), which is why this robotic head of the late author was made, apparently. You can watch the head in the video speak, and it says what sounds like his non-fiction and fiction works.

It was built by robo-PKD to replace another robotic head of Philip K. Dick that broke down in 2006. So there are two robotic heads of this guy? Who else has a robotic head?

You know what the greatest tragedy is about Philip K. Dick? He died before the movie Blade Runner was released. The film is unparalleled science fiction classic, and he never got to see it become the phenomenon that it became. I guess that’s why the robot head was made, so he could see how his works have lived on.

Thermo Mirror can measure body temperature

I have seen a lot of mirrors that are pretty technologically fancy. I saw one at CES that had a television set on it, but I couldn’t find the information on it later on so I could write a full-length article.

This Thermo Mirror is designed by a Japanese electronics firm NEC/Avio, and it can measure an onlooker’s temperature from up to 30 centimeters or one foot away.

All this without sticking a glass mercury stick underneath your tongue! So when you call in sick to work from your cellular phone, you actually have the evidence that you are indeed “under the weather”. In fact, your boss can even hear the confirmation because the Thermo Mirror will sound an alarm if your temperature is above normal.

By the way, when the Thermo Mirror is not displaying your personal body temperature, it is displaying other information such as the date, time, humidity, and weather temperature.

Actually, I have seen Mirrors that are smarter than this one. Ones that have stock numbers, not to mention other figures that you want to see in the morning when you go to the bathroom.

You should be able to purchase the Thermo Mirror for about $1,180 to $1,440, but it might only be from Japan.

Cockpit Flight Simulator

Ever wished that you could one day just drop your dreary, everyday work and be someone else completely? Oxygen Audio O’Car and O’Dock

Own a pretty sweet ride, but do not really know how to make it sweeter? Why, kitting it out with the proper audio equipment, that’s how! That is what Oxygen Audio has done, rolling out the O'Car and O'Dock at the recently concluded CES in Las Vegas, where it will play nice with the iPhone as the main musical component. This French brand from ADMEA specializes in car audio electronics, which is why you can more or less be sure that the O'Car and O'Dock will not shortchange you in any way where your ears are concerned, and at a price point which will be agreeable to your pockets as well – now how about that?

The O’Car also managed to pick up the CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award Honoree apart from being even more famous by receiving global recognition as an iStage finalist, making it the only fully integrated head unit specifically designed for the iPhone to date. It will not discriminate against any iPhone, so you’re safe even if you’ve been rocking to the first generation iPhone. The O’Car will feature patented technology that allows users to control all standard car stereo functions using the iPhone touch screen, letting you access it either horizontally or vertically so that all iPhone applications may be used in the car.

Apart from being a high end car radio, the O’Car will also let you access your entire iTunes music catalogue, enabling hands-free calls as well as synchronizing a Bluetooth headset to boot.
