F-Stop Watch for photography nuts Posted: 10 Oct 2010 10:41 AM PDT Those of you that have gotten a little obsessive about your love of photography shouldn’t be stuck with an ordinary watch with silly numbers. Instead you need something you can really understand. Normal watches are for mathematicians. Thankfully, someone has created a watch for anyone that enjoys photography, the F-Stop Watch. Instead of numbers it lists off the relative aperture or F-Stop, which is where the name comes from. These fit most adult wrists and even come in a handy little collectible tin. The strap itself is leather with metal clasps. It has Quartz movement and the batteries are thankfully included. Right now these are sadly out of stock, but you can set things up so the vendor emails you when it’s finally back in stock. At that point you’ll pay $35.95 to get yourself one through the Neatoshop. Body Organs Send Out Information To Your Phone Posted: 10 Oct 2010 10:11 AM PDT When going to the doctor you could find out all sorts of surprising info and usually if there’s a problem it’s been going on longer than you realize. Instead of making the problem wait until your next physical, you could always make your body text you when there’s an issue. Thanks to some researchers at the Dutch facility, IMEC, that could be very possible. Having some experience with surprise problems, despite that it creeps me out a little getting texts from my body this would have come in very handy a couple months ago. I had an extremely close call with my gallbladder, close enough that the doctor mentioned that death would have been a distinct possibility had I not stumbled into the hospital that day. Oops. See, texting insides are not so bad. It uses Human++ BAN, which is a wireless body area network. It’ll send you texts that can be shared with your doctor and an alarm will sound should any of the readings come back abnormal. Compass Alert System handles emergency situations Posted: 10 Oct 2010 09:41 AM PDT When panic strikes in a crowded area people quickly become hysterical and don’t always remember which exit is closest. In times when you need to get out fast, not knowing could cause injuries and even death in extreme cases. These Alarm Compasses are designed to help you out in the event that you need to get out quickly and you can’t actually see any exit signs from where you’re standing. Not only does this show an easy to understand bright arrow, but it also plays an audio track that states which direction you should be heading. Having both visual and audio will help those with visual or hearing impairment as well as accommodating anyone that doesn’t happen to speak the native language within that area of the world. This was designed by Mathieu Azema and right now it is still in the concept stage of things. Source: Yanko Compass Alert System handles emergency situations
