Cell Phone Watchdog keeps a keen “eye” out for you Posted: 02 Oct 2010 05:04 PM PDT The Cell Phone Watchdog is a device that picked up the “Best of Innovations” award at the 2010 International CES show earlier this year, and it is nice to see it being made available online for the masses. We’re looking at a wireless watchdog which will emit an alarm the moment you and your precious cell phone are separated by over 30 feet of distance. It is small and easy to tote around, since you can always slipped it onto a key ring or clipped to a belt. Powered by Bluetooth connectivity, it will not only make noise, but vibrate and flash its LED light as well whenever the paired cell phone and it are about to enter a “long distance” relationship. Apart from that, it will also be able to signal incoming calls, function as a remote Bluetooth noise canceling speakerphone, while working as a piercing panic alarm with an emergency number autodialer. The rechargeable Li-ion battery will offer up to two hours of talk time, where it takes four hours of charging to reach its maximum capacity. How much to pay for this low maintenance “pooch”? $79.95. Posted: 02 Oct 2010 04:59 PM PDT Finding it hard to get up in the mornings? Perhaps, just perhaps, with the right kind of incentive, you will be able to open up those heavy eyelids of yours the moment your alarm clock rings. Of course, we aren’t talking about the type that lets out an almighty din the moment the right time arrives, and neither do we mean one of those “gently wake you up” types which sound rather pansy. No sir, we’re talking about a £14.99 Pac Man Alarm Clock which comes in the pie chart-shaped video game icon in full 3D glory. Powered by a couple of AAA batteries, this eye-catching alarm clock will come with the all-important Snooze, Alarm Off and Backlight buttons which are represented by cherries, a bell and naughty ol' Pinky. The authentic sounds of Pac Man is what that will help rouse you from your slumber, making it a perfect fit for video gamers. Tech Cult – We cover the latest tech news, but always with a funny twist. Kid’s Walker exo-suit for kids Posted: 01 Oct 2010 07:16 PM PDT Some of you might remember when we reported on the real-life XOS 2 Iron-Man suit a few days ago. I suppose this would be the kids-size version. This is the Kid’s Walker, which has a height of 5 1/4 feet. I suppose that is pretty tall if you are a kid. I’m not certain if you really want to put your kid in this suit. Seriously, if you think the kid has a tantrum now, wait until he or she puts on this iron suit. The end result would be like the climax of a monster movie. By the way, the Kid’s Walker doesn’t really walk, it more shuffles along on a pair of wheeled feet. I believe it is controlled by two joysticks, and some of those pedals probably do that as well. The XOS 2 can lift about 170 pounds, but I have no idea how much this one can lift. Okay, I would love to see footage of a kid in this suit, tearing apart cars or something. Man, would I love to have some video of that. Seriously, I would pay to have video of that bad-boy footage. This Kids Walker is designed by Sakakibara Kikai, and it costs about $21,000. Tech Cult – We cover the latest tech news, but always with a funny twist.
