Think of it as a power strip made up of egg timers. Even if you’re too young to know what an egg timer is, you can still figure out how to use it. Just turn it to the proper setting, and it will tick down until the bell goes off. It’s technology that has been almost completely replaced with digital clocks. My children have never seen one, I’m sure. The Wind up Socket is designed to save energy by plugging in your device, and then turning it to the time that you want it to run. It’s perfect for devices that don’t need to be always plugged in. The Wind Up Socket is so easy that even your grandmother can use it. I realize that this could come across as a slam to most senior citizens, but hey, just watch her try to program a VCR. She still hasn’t figured out that the VCR has been replaced by DVR. She probably still uses egg timers, though. Of course, this looks like an easy way to get your cords tangled up, doesn’t it? That seems like an obvious design flaw in an otherwise good-intentioned idea from designers Dongwon Joo and Jieun Choi. Why would you want to do that? So you can go online and vacuum your house from a first-person point of view, of course. Granted, I wouldn’t want to do that, but its web-enabled IP camera has a microphone with a 360 degree pan and tilt IP camera design. Can the user program it to roam around the room and film things? Why else have a microphone on it? So if you are at work, and you just learn that guests are coming over, you can just go online and suck up the dirt. Of course, I don’t see how you can turn on the vacuum from a distance, as it has a toggle switch right on it. The G182 can detect walls via infrared technology, and it will go to the automatic charging area whenever it is low on power. On the product page, I see a remote control, but that must be from a smaller distance away. As advertisement, it could be quite effective. Just imagine walking home, and you are wicked thirsty. Then imagine the Coca-Cola logo under your feet. I don’t know about you, but I would probably stop by the nearest store and get a Coke for the way home. Granted, the streets would get pretty gaudy with multiple advertisements, but advertisers could boost the town’s economy by paying for “street space”. As for the directions, I would rather follow the signs from above than a map any day. Of course, these directions would be tough to see during the day. For cities that never sleep, like Las Vegas, this would be the next cool thing. I wonder if you could get it so the lights above could sync with your GPS or mobile phone, to give individual people the directions that they need. I guess the last usage, decoration, would be perfect for any holiday. Just picture boughs of holly being projected during Christmastime, turkeys at Thanksgiving, pumpkins on Halloween, and so on. Too bad this is only a concept for now. However, to implement this, you would have to affix these special lights to where the streetlights are, and the streetlights could outshine these Intersection Signaletique lights. Admittedly I greatly enjoy cooking and I’ve started to become a slight appliance addict. One thing I’ve noticed is that most of them out there are practically the same. This line from Bodium is a breath of fresh air in comparison to the rest. It’s perfect for women that prefer tough looking kitchen appliances or for guys that want that power tool feel in the kitchen. The whole set of them is wrapped up tight in a nice coat of rubber and are decked out in little dots to make them easier to grip. One thing that is bound to catch most people’s attention is the large selection of different colors. Some companies are hopping on the color bandwagon, but they still seem to be in the minority. The new line will include two different electric water kettles, a hand mixer, handheld blender, electric juicer, blade grinder and burr grinder. Sometimes it seems as if creators are watching old 1980’s science fiction movies to find gadget ideas. It’s not really that I think the gadget has no point, it’s more that it seems like they have a very outdated view of the future. We’ve probably all watched Back To The Future and this looks like something they’d have hanging on Marty’s future self’s fridge. If you enjoy that sort of style of electronics then this would be the way to leave messages and reminders for your family. The Green-House GH-DM14M Video Note Fridge Magnet does exactly what you probably are guessing. It lets you record all of your messages on video, with audio of course. The Disney DM005SH is not the first, but actually the fifth handset in the DM series and when compared to previous models, the DM005SH lens has experienced a vast jump from 3.2-megapixels all the way to 8-megapixels, which translates to superior image quality. To stay in line with its status of being a Japanese cellphone, it comes in a classic clamshell shape and will squeeze in a 3.4″ AVS LCD display with the highest resolution level – FWVGA. As for its external display, it relies on a hidden LED screen. With dazzling diamonds dotting the exterior, they might come across as irregularly distributed on the front but all that chaos has a flow to it, since it is meant to represent the stars that dot the night sky. This design is not only meant to be luxurious but romantic as well. The front of the phone shows a combination of three diamonds which were specially arranged in the shape of a Mickey Mouse head, while the three radio buttons in the phone function key area of the navigation keys represents the shadow of the world famous rodent’s mug as well. Unlike traditional e-cards which are more or less all similar, where you see an animation followed by the sender’s message, Novel Games’ e-cards take a different route by resembling actual cards. You first receive an envelope which will be opened by eager mouse clicks, followed by taking the card out. Flip the card over to the other side and you can check out a message from the sender, while opening the card will reveal a secondary message as well. All flipping and opening of the cards will be presented in 3D animations in order to make the e-card pretty much like an actual card, although roaches won’t be able to feast on this one. Just to make the entire experience all the more compelling, Novel Games have thrown in a small game inside every e-card. An interesting aspect about this game would be setting the criteria by the sender for the recipient to meet or exceed before the card can be opened. Take for example, achieving a score of over 10,000 before the card can be opened and read. This adds a new layer of challenge to the recipient, and it offers a slew of interaction between sender and recipient compared to a standard e-card experience. Sending an e-card is a snap – all you need to do is choose a design, pick out one game from over 200, write a couple of messages, set the criteria and send! Here is an interesting concept that allows the user to save energy, the easy way. 
Sure, Roomba has that whole remote control vacuum going on, but Chinavasion (not Chinavision) has the G182, a robot vacuum cleaner with IP WiFi enabled camera. 
This concept project is one that I would love to see on any city street at night. The Intersection Signaletique uses special projectors from above to create messages on the streets, and its use is three-fold: advertisement, direction, and decoration.
