Speakal miSoccer speaker system Posted: 09 Dec 2009 03:56 PM PST
Despite looking as though it is some kid’s toy, the miSoccer doesn’t really compromise when it comes to performance, offering 23+ watts of high quality sound via a 15 watt subwoofer and two multi-way speakers. This ought to be enough to keep a small living room thumping with your favorite tunes, without running the risk of your neighbors complaining to the police to turn it down. You will also be pleasantly surprised to know that the miSoccer is compatible with all of the iPods as long as they have a dock connector. Other features include Humanized Touch Control, a remote control which can manage sound and its quality alongside controlling the docked iPod. The miSoccer speaker system from Speakal retails for $119.99 a pop, although we do wish that something could be done about the external design as it looks rather cheap and plasticky despite paying more than a Benjamin for it. At least the spherical design does offer the strategic placement of speakers to produce a true 360° sound distribution – how about that for saving grace? The Nokia E72 will take off where the hugely successful Nokia E71 left off, offering desktop-like chat experiences and email regardless of who you communicate with. Alongside a QWERTY keypad that is nimble and comfortable to type (I’m using one right now), it is also super slim unlike those Windows Mobile smartphones that tend to bulk up for some strange reason. You also get an optical navi key which in my opinion is more of a novelty than anything else as it has the potential of throwing your navigation off course whenever you flick it accidentally. Can’t argue with the integrated Ovi Maps with A-GPS navigation and a compass though as it helps you find your way around unfamiliar places. The Nokia E72 enables you to mobilize up to 10 personal email accounts thanks to Nokia MEssaging, while IM can be replied directly from the homescreen with compatibility with Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat to get you started right out of the box. Best to use this with an unlimited data plan – just sayin’, you know, unless you want to be saddled with a hefty phone bill at the end of the month. The Speak N’ Brew Coffee Maker Posted: 09 Dec 2009 03:25 PM PST Everyone has their way that they prefer to deal with electronics. Some people adore pushing buttons, while others would love to just speak to the device and have it obey their every demand. Actually, both options are appealing, just depending on what device you’re using. Well if you’ve ever wanted a talking coffee pot that you can converse with you could always buy the Speak n’ Brew. The coffee maker understands your speech. It’ll ask you when you want your coffee ready and you just state the time. It’ll then repeat the time back to you in order to make sure that it understood you properly. The body of it is stainless steel and it’ll make 10 cups. It also has a pause and serve function as well as a manual one-touch brew start. You can read information on your coffee on the LCD screen, then after 2 hours the coffee pot will automatically shut off. You can purchase the device for $79.99 from Primula Products. Posted: 09 Dec 2009 03:20 PM PST Not many of us out there are fortunate enough to have enough money in order to have a cinema right smack in our sprawling mansion, although a decent home theater setup is quite common these days. How about moments when you need to keep yourself and your family entertained during an impromptu moment, but a portable DVD player just won’t quite cut the mustard due to the extremely small screen size? That’s where the Mobile Cinema DVD Projector comes in handy.
Don’t expect to view super high resolutions with this £159.99 purchase from Firebox though, as it isn’t meant to take the primary place of your home entertainment slot but instead is an alternative. Stereo Neckphones keep your music nearby Posted: 09 Dec 2009 02:07 PM PST If you thought that Bluetooth headsets made people look ridiculous, you’ll just love this gadget. Instead of listening to headphones like a normal person or just buying a portable speaker you could have these Stereo Neckphones. They hang onto you like a set of headphones would, but make it so you can be aware of your environment like having portable speakers. It’d be the best of both worlds if it didn’t make you look incredibly foolish. Not to mention the fact that you’ll be that annoying person that wanders around playing their music so that everyone is stuck listening to it. This device works just like a set of headphones would. It just requires you to plug in your MP3 player through the 3.5mm plug. The cord itself is 36 inches long. In order to keep the neckphones powered you’ll need two AA batteries, which will keep it going for 15-30 hours. You can purchase this gadget for $129.95 through Hammacher Schlemmer.
