Hamilton Beach's New "Mc" Breakfast Maker

There are a few things in my life that are a given, if there is chocolate in front of me, I will eat it, no exercise of any kind is fun, and anything that happens before 10 in the morning probably isn’t worth having to set the alarm for. However, I have a 10 year old that still requires a good breakfast and a ride to school at *gasp*  six-thirty in the morning! Now while I’ve gotten pretty good at driving in my sleep, making breakfast? Not so much.

Well the folks over at Hamilton Beach have the answer to my one of my problems with their new electric Breakfast Sandwich Maker. This nifty little countertop delight makes breakfast making quick and easy. Using your own fresh ingredients, you can whip up your own “Mc” specialties using any combination of eggs, meat, veggies and cheeses with English muffins, biscuits or small bagels and Voila! You have a sandwich that practically builds itself.

All of the Breakfast Sandwich Maker’s removable parts are dishwasher safe, and the cooking surfaces are covered with a durable, nonstick coating. It has a small footprint, preserving some of your valuable countertop real estate, and it’s very simple to learn, so even a child could do it. Hmm… I wonder if 10 years old is too young to make breakfast, while mom gets an extra 10 minutes of sleep? We’ll have to see. The Breakfast Maker comes with some quick and easy recipes to get you started. So if you need a healthy alternative to the drive-thru breakfast, the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Maker may be for you. Get yours today at amazon.com for only around 29 bucks! Me? I’m teaching the kid… and hitting the snooze bar!

SVS Ultra Bookshelf Speakers

Here we are with something that you might want to consider when it comes to upgrading your living room – a decent pair of speakers, which will definitely outdo whatever Hi-Fi system that you purchased in the past. There should be nothing quite like a great pair of speakers, and this is where the Ultra Bookshelf Speakers from SVS come in handy, with SVS being a worldwide leader in high-performance home audio products.

As you can see for yourself in the image above, the Ultra Bookshelf Speakers come handsomely styled, complete with a swept back profile as well as striking edge treatments, where it draws design cues from the flagship Ultra Tower speaker while sporting sonic-enhancing wedge-shaped front baffle and flush-mounted drivers, accompanied by proprietary SVS drivers and the intelligent SoundMatch Crossover Network.

SVS envisioned a two-way monitor when engineering the Ultra Bookshelf speaker’s design, hoping for it to fill small to medium–sized rooms with an encompassing, coherent soundstage, in addition to churning out deep, dynamic bass; and sparkling mid and high-frequency details, regardless of whether they were being pushed to extreme volumes or played at moderate levels. Using a clever combination of premium build materials, FEA optimization, cabinet innovation and careful selection of crossover frequencies, has managed to make the Ultra Bookshelf Speakers possible.

In order to deliver low to midrange-frequency performance, the Ultra Bookshelf will boast of a hefty 6.5-inch composite glass-fiber cone woofer that is capable of pumping out an excellent stiffness to mass ratio for high sensitivity, while maintaining pistonic behavior that is well beyond the pass-band of the driver. The Ultra Bookshelves will also be equipped with SVS’ SoundMatch two-way crossover network, in addition to premium-grade capacitors, air-core inductors and heavy-trace printed circuit boards that function in harmony, making sure that pure signal transmission and radiation is achieved to hit a generous sweet spot.

The Ultra Bookshelf speakers from SVS will tip the scales at 19 lbs. each, and will come in premium-grade piano gloss black and real black oak veneer finishes, retailing for $499 each.

LG Pocket Photo debuts in the UK

If you happen to live in the UK, you might want to make a beeline to The Gadget Show Live 2013, as that is where the LG Pocket Photo would make its debut across the pond, allowing consumers to have an alternative when it comes to a creative mobile photo printing experience. The LG Pocket Photo is a mobile printer as you can tell by its name, where it is touted to deliver high quality photo prints without having to be bogged down by wires and other kinds of nasty cables, hence making it the ideal companion for Android powered as well as iOS powered smartphones. After all, are we not an extremely visual tribe these days, capturing just about anything and everything on our smartphones with a mountain of data to clean up afterwards?

In order to get started with the LG Pocket Photo, all you need to do is download the LG Pocket Photo app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, and you are good to go after installation. Once you have performed the relevant kind of image edits on the captured photo from the device itself, or even embedded a QR code of your choice, go ahead and print it out, and your eyes will be pleasantly surprised by the kind of results that you see.

Not only that, you are also able to share photos on social media platforms as well as taking the more direct online route, straight from the LG Pocket Photo itself. Just what kind of wireless bridge does the LG Pocket Photo use to communicate with your mobile devices? Well, I see that it will most probably fall back on Bluetooth connectivity to get the job done, and for those with more advanced handsets, there is also Near Field Communication (NFC) thrown into the mix for easy, one-touch printing. You won't have to worry about expensive and potentially messy ink cartridges with the LG Pocket Photo though, as it makes use of inkless printing technology from ZINK.

Hotelier's Rechargeable Sweeper

Is it me, or is today cleaning up time? That is, after all, the impression that I had after covering the Leaf Genie, and here we are with the $129.95 Hotelier’s Rechargeable Sweeper. This cordless sweeper is trusted by restaurants as well as hotel chains, hence its unique name, where it is capable of delivering unobtrusive cleaning power without being overly complex to operate. Sporting a rechargeable battery-driven agitator brush as well as geared belt drive that will work equally well on carpet or hard surface floors, it will get to work quickly without any fuss, sweeping debris into the large 17-oz. removable dustbin.

The Hotelier’s Rechargeable Sweeper boasts of an extremely lightweight construction, while carrying the detail of one-handed operation. You will not wake up the dead either if the cleaning bug happens to bite you halfway through the night, as it sports a nearly inaudible 12-volt motor. Thanks to its telescoping handle that can adjust from 40″ to 50″ in length, it is capable of accommodating users of different sizes. Even better yet is the convenience of recharging it, as the battery can be removed for recharging, where you get 90 minutes of operation on a 10-hour charge.

Leaf Genie helps you clear your yard in no time at all

Whenever fall arrives, there is just one particular house chore that you will need to get done – that is, to make sure that the leaves in your yard are all nicely swept away to one side, otherwise it would end up being a major mess, visually as well as physically. I guess that is where the alternative name for 'autumn' came in, no, with all of the leaves falling down like nobody's business. Well, the usual rake might have done the job for a fair number of decades, but how about getting a little help from outside technology? Case in point, the $139.95 Leaf Genie.

This bad boy will sport an interesting all-in-one design, where a single one-switch flick will turn it from being a forceful blower to powerful vacuum and handy mulcher, and despite wearing multiple hats as a single device, it will not bog you down or be dead weight in any way, functioning as a compact, one-handed operation. The Leaf Genie is capable of mulching leaves up to 1/10th of their original size, and the blower works at speeds of up to 210 mph! Alternatively, suck them leaves up with a vacuum that generates 350 cubic feet of airflow per minute.

Barbuzzo Spin the Shot – Drink! Drink! Drink!

Every New Year comes and goes with me making the same resolution. I am going to drink more and eat less. I dont know why I never seem to get around to it. I keep hearing about the benefits of a little red wine. Although, to be honest, it’s not really the benefits that I’m looking for. I just want to start having a little more fun. Perhaps not quite as much fun as I had in college, but fun nonetheless!

Well nothing brings back those “fun” college days like good old fashioned drinking games, who can forget whiling away the weekends (while you should have been studying for your psych exam) sitting around a folding table with 16 of your closest friends killing brain cells by the hundreds? Well now Barbuzzo brings us Spin the Shot, similar to everyones favorite party game, Spin the Bottle (without the risk of viral infection), Spin the Shot lets you pour a shot of your beverage of choice and, and with a single spin, choose the person who will have to drink it.

Evidently, the spinner is solidly constructed with enclosed ball bearings helping to ensure a smooth and steady spin, so theres no fear of spilling your precious “beverage du jour” and the long controlled spin adds to the fun and excitement of waiting to see who the next victim will be. I think we can come up with quite a few alternative methods of play, including some that involve kissing, or maybe even a single player game where you run around the table and try to anticipate where the arrow may land. I don’t suggest you tell anyone that you play drinking games alone… I’m just saying. So bring the party home, with the Barbuzzo Spin the Shot drinking game. Available from Amazon.com for under 14 bucks!

Big Button Phone

Sure, growing old gracefully has its fair share of benefits, where among them include half price discounts when it comes to the little things in life such as dinner at a restaurant in certain places, or perhaps even when you are flying. Well, the price to pay for some might be failing health, as the internal organs start to wind down, while other senses of the body such as hearing and sight begin to fail, too. Hence, it is not surprising to see seniors walk around with hearing aids as well as a pair of glasses, and if you think that your ocular abilities are starting to be shaky, perhaps it is time to make sure the stuff around your home, too, will be able to keep up with your, er, degeneration, for the lack of a better word.

Since the telephone is one of the more useful tools at home, I guess you cannot really go wrong with the $49.95 Big Button Phone, where it works just as it is named – carrying extremely large buttons on the phone itself. The numbers on these buttons will also be raised for a Braille effect as well as easy dialing. There are three programmable “one-push” buttons that help you summon fire, police or medical help, in addition to other features including a speakerphone, 13-number memory, last number redial, visual ringer indicator, and volume controls for both the ringer (up to 90dB) and the handset. Heck, it will play nice with your hearing aid, assuming you wear one, and works even during power outages thanks to its power reserves.

Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman

How many of you out there actually no longer use a dedicated video camera to record all those precious moments in your family, such as weddings, birthdays and graduations? Well, I suppose the ever increasing quality of the camera sensor in smartphones have a great deal to do with the seeming demise of such dedicated devices, and for those who happen to be in the iPhone camp, you might be interested to check out this $199.95 Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman.

Basically, the Motion Tracking iPhone Cameraman would function as an iPhone mount that is capable of panning and tilting automatically while tracking the movement of your subject, ensuring that the subject in motion is always within shooting range for that added touch of professionalism in your family videos. A key fob-sized wireless transmitter is portable enough to be held or clipped to clothing, while the iPhone mount automatically pans 360° and tilts up to 30°, all from up to 33 feet away, now how about that? It will be able to carry the iPhone in both landscape or portrait orientations, depending on how you want your video to look like. A couple of AA batteries will offer enough juice to power the tracking mount for up to four hours, while another two AAA batteries are required to keep the transmitter going for up to 10 hours.

Ematic Genesis Prime unveiled

When it comes to tablets, you know that this particular market is divided into two major segments – one of them would be those who side with all things Apple, and hence, they would most probably settle for nothing less than an iPad (mini or otherwise), while the other segment of the population would prefer Android-powered tablets, as that would offer them a whole lot more options and choices. After all, when was the last time you checked out the range of Android-powered tablets in the market? Simply astounding, I tell you, with just about one for every single kind of budget. Well, here we are with the Ematic Genesis Prime that should raise its fair share of eyebrows, considering the kind of hardware specifications that it packs without costing you more than a Benjamin.

Yes sir, the Ematic Genesis Prime will cost you a mere $79.99 a pop, and at that price point, just what will you get in return? Let's see, first of all, there is the 1.1GHz processor which should be able to get all your average tablet performance needs filled up without missing a beat, where it will be accompanied by 4GB of internal memory, accosted by 5GB of included cloud storage, while its 7" multi-touch display should be decent enough for everyday use, never mind that it does not support Full HD capability. Connectivity issues include Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack just in case you want to go silent all around with a pair of good headphones to accompany the movie you're watching.

Now only that, Since it runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, you will be able to take advantage of Google Play as well as Google Now, where integrated Google services such as Chrome, Gmail, Maps, and YouTube will be a seamless part of the entire experience. Sounds like the Ematic Genesis Prime has a good thing going for it, and I predict it could very well be the first tablet that folks might look forward to, whether as an adult or as a child.

Wren Sound Systems announces Wren V5PF

Wren Sound Systems might not be too familiar a name with the average man on the street, but this does not mean that the company does not have anything special up its sleeves, especially for folks who want something that will deliver wireless audio throughout the room or hall, without having to deal with pesky cables that seem to take on an entire life of their own whenever you are not around, getting wrapped up in a tangled mess, as colonies of dust bunnies appear out of nowhere.
